Pros:

cheap and fast

Cons:

it's not a "cure" but only hides the symptoms

i've had acne for many years and tried prescription medication, including antibiotics which did not help much and cost a lot. then i've seen a proactive commercial and googled green tea. the next day i got a $3 box of DECAF tea from my local grocery store and started using it on my face. i never drank it. the effects were visible within a day. when i use it twice daily my face is clean and smooth but if i miss a couple of applications (i'm lazy...) i'm getting the bumps and breakouts again. i've been using it for a few months already and i keep the same tea for 3-4 days in the fridge. i'm also washing my face with warm water before application to open the pores (does it matter?). overall it's great and the $3 box will last about 1 year (48 packs).

Pros:

so much cheaper than other skin products, it works awesome

Cons:

can't think of one

I drink about 3 to 6 cups of green tea a day and have been for about two weeks, and it totally cleared up my acne and I had it fairly bad with some scaring. Worrying about your acne WILL make it worse, also I believe your diet plays a much larger role than anything you can apply to your skin. If you have bad acne I would recommend cutting fast food, milk products and sweets out of your diet as much as possible. Also cut down on the red meat and meat altogether for that matter, and try one of those two week detox kits. That's my reciped for clearing up my acne. Remember what acne is, all that gross sh*t you're eating being expelled from your body through your skin. Also I would recommend Neo Strata face wash, moisterizer and toner, but it is expensive, if you can't afford them start off with just the moisterizer, if you're like me you'd like cheat and STEAL (from large corporations) to have better skin, much love peace out

Pros:

Green tea is a great antioxidant as you all know. I drink Green tea once a day and it really helps. However in regards to acne in order to affect it I personally think that you have to drink a respectable amount (3-4 cups a day).

Cons:

Thank you for sharing your experiences, I believe it is really important to speak your truth to help people move forward. Thank you

By the way always buy the Decaff, a little pricy but better than worsing the situation with caffeine.

Pros:

Tastes fairly good and is good for your overall health

Cons:

Takes some time to prepare/wait for it to cool down and does nothing for acne

I'm a 20 years old guy with acne. I drank 3 cups of green tea per day, before every meal, mixed with a bit of sugar, for 1 week. I also applied once or twice a day the tea bag on my face. It did quite literally nothing for my acne. My advice is to not waste your time on home remedies since as the site says, they're largely ineffective. I tried it for like 10 days, but it's probably enough to see if it works or not.

Pros:

Full of antioxidants, refreshing, healthy.

Cons:

An acquired taste (takes some getting used to). Does not assist in the clearing of acne in my opinion.

I have been drinking multiple cups of green tea daily for about 4 years due to its health benefits. Going more than a day without it makes me irritable and bloated, most likely because it contains caffeine and has detoxing properties. I am yet to apply it topically as other people have recommended on here, but I will. Drinking it does not seem to improve my acne at all, though I can't be sure as I have never gone for a long period of time without it anyway.

Pros:

It gives my face a glow and my acne has cleared up fast!!To my surprise its more affective than Proactive. And tastes good too!

Cons:

A little dryness.

if you were using any products like Proactive,Olay,Etc. You might want to hold off on green tea for about a week.Your face may not be able to handle this sudden change of products and may result in breakouts, thus, making it worse.

Pros:

I dunno if it really works for acne... but I like it, just the same.

Cons:

None. Love it.

I never had acne in high school. I only began to break out when I turned 20 or so. I've tried everything...Proactive, Murad, Birth Control (Yasmin and Ortho Tri-Cycline lo), Retin-A, antibiotics, and most of the time I took a combination. All controlled it somewhat, but never completely cleared it up. The only thing I haven't tried is Acutane... and I really don't want to deal with my face peeling on a daily basis (although Retin A had the same effect). I have been drinking green tea pretty regularly (around 4 cups a day) for about a year now, and I haven't noticed that it's really helped. I've since stopped Yasmin and it's gotten worse. I've never tried actually applying the tea bag to my face though, but I drink enough of it, might as well give it a shot.

Pros:

-Great for health benefits
-Great for acne

Cons:

-Stains teeth
(I use baking soda to brush teeth and this helps remove stains)
-Tastes horrible
(The first few times but then the taste becomes accustomed)

Hii :) I have been drinking Green Tea for the past two weeks at about five cups per day. I usually suffer from breakouts but havent occured any since! The only thing recently added in my regimen is green tea and I belive this is quite the cure. Please try and if it doesnt help with acne, it is beneficial for your body!

Pros:

It really reduces redness, and helps acne.

Cons:

It takes many cups a day for it to work.

The tea does not remove all acne, but it most definately does help. I drink 2-3 cups a day, everyday.
