Pros:

Natural & pharmaceutical-free; effective; economical; soothing, softening & toning; good source of antioxidants (Olive Leaf Extract is higher, though - & also good for/on skin). Much fewer blind pimples; skin heals faster; less redness & scarring.

Cons:

Watch out for stains - clean up any drips & spills promptly (& not with white towels, either!). Don't drink too much too late in the day.

I had mild-moderate adult acne for over 12 years from my late 20's (I think initially from the Pill). Being careful with diet really helps - for me SUGAR (even too much fruit - took a long while to realise my skin was always worse during summer, when I ate heaps of seasonal fruit), cow DAIRY & gluten are worst offenders. And green tea certainly makes a difference. Only needed to drink 1-3 cups per day of freshly-brewed, preferably organic, Green or White tea (use hot, filtered water, but not boiling, as this scalds the tea; steep 5 minutes & drink within 20 minutes to get most anti-oxidant benefit); & definitely use same as leave-on toner after cleansing. Latter is easier if using tea-bags, but ritual of making a pot with loose leaves is nice; just use as fresh as possible (though I guess keeping used bags/dregs in fridge would help preserve the active components). Also found papaya enzyme masks & Emu Oil as moisturiser helpful. Thanks for sharing your stories; hope mine helps you.

Reduces redness
I just started a new facial routine which has green tea. I make a single serving, put ice and honey in it and use the tea bag on face. It seemed to reduce redness on my face. I will try to update in a week or two. I AM USING THIS WITH OTHER PROTUCTS, NOT ALONE!!! I also read that it has antioxidants, so it might aide in getting rid of acne. My morning routine is: Wash (using oil free facial wash), Cleanse, Tea (do not rinse off!!), once the tea is dry, I use a few drops of jojoba oil, rub into finger tips and gently pat onto face. I also read that it helps significantly to remove or minimize fried foods and dairy products, however yogurt is fine. So if you like to eat ice cream a lot, switch to frozen yogurt.

Green tea is good, but not good enough to treat acne on its own
I love green tea and drink at least a cup everyday. Green tea is packed with antioxidants and is great for overall body health. However, I am doubtful that green tea alone can erase your acne completely. I drink green tea everyday and still suffer from cystic acne on my chest and back, as well as some moderately severe acne on my face and neck. I recommend drinking green tea, just not as an acne fighting medicine.

Pros:

cheap
tastes great
healthy

Cons:

none!

I drink 4 cups of decaf. green tea from various brands such as Yogi and Lipton and it has done wonders to my skin!!! First off i think it tastes great and i prefer decaf because i can enjoy it just before bed time. It also has amazing health benefits and flushes out your whole system. If you haven't yet, pick up a box of green tea at your local store. You'll be surprised at how fast the results are.

Pros:

Skin glowed
Reduced redness

Cons:

Blackheads
Kind of a hassle
Didn't prevent acne

I used this for several months to help my acne. It hasn't done much to prevent new pimples. I got tired of all the blackheads that would appear randomly in different areas of my face, and after stopping green tea, they went away and haven't had any new ones- so I attribute it to the green tea. Never had blackheads before, except on the nose. I brewed some green tea and kept it in a bottle in the fridge, and would apply it cold morning and night with a cotton ball. If I wanted to reduce pimple redness, I would apply green tea to a cotton ball, leave over the pimple until it dried, and then wet it again and reapply. It reduced redness a lot! So it's good for that. I left it on my skin overnight a lot too. I was reading about folliculitis and I think I have that in my temple area and side of face, noticed it last fall, about same time I started using this. Perhaps the antibacterial effect of green tea upset the balance of my skin and caused it to worsen. Anyway, bottom line is, it makes your skin look nice (if it doesn't cause blackheads), can be used as a spot treatment for redness, but didn't do much to prevent acne. I'm continuing my search for natural acne reatments.

Pros:

- Softens skin
- Significantly reduces redness & inflammation
- Evens skin tone, seems to reduce dark circles under eyes

Cons:

- Can be itchy and drying when applied topically

Don't bother with brand-name bagged teas (Lipton, Tetley etc.). Instead, buy loose leaf teas and bag your own if you like to use it topically. I drink over a litre of green tea per day; I brew it in the morning, take a shower, then wipe the tea bag all over my face before moisturizing. It does seem to dry my skin out a little. However, after only a minute or so, any redness is noticeably reduced and it makes skin feel really soft. While I haven't noticed any big differences in acne, my skin just looks a healthier, happier and less irritated. It might be a bit of a placebo effect, but I think it also reduces dark circles under my eyes. Just a side note - polyphenols and antioxidants are great for you, but in very large amounts they are harmful to your liver and kidneys. This is rarely an issue when drinking it, but if you're taking green tea extract supplements (usually pills), you may want to do some research on this.

Pros:

Cleaclears skin fast.

Cons:

I didn't dislike anything about it, I actually liked the taste.

green tea really helped my skin, not only by drinking it, but I also put some on my face. I'd use it as a toner. my pores have almost vanished, my acne scars are reducing, and my pimples are going away, and I've never been so amazed, after using proactive, and gels, and cleansers, this natural remedy works ! I've been drinking and using the green tea for almost a week now. it's great !
