Pros:

Is very gentle, mild, and non-irritating. And, it is fragrance-free.

Cons:

It does not provide a deep down cleaning of the skin. As,it is simply to mild for that. I have had a love/hate relationship with this product for years because I do have combination/oily skin. However, I still do keep it around for useage purposes.

This product is okay. It doesn't provide a deep down clean, which alot of people may find to be bothersome. However, it isn't one that I probably will 100% give up on. As, I do use topical acne products and it is mild to my face. So, it is something that I like to slip into my regimen every now and then (especially when it is cold out).

Pros:

Gentle, effective, doesn't dry out the skin

Cons:

none

I've tried so many things: proactiv, tea tree oil, different clearasil and neutrogena products. None have ever cleared up my face as well as cetaphil. It feels great and is starting to look great. My face has always had red spots all over which are starting to clear up. I went to costco and got a huge container for 20$ which will last me awhile since you don't need to use much at all. Since it is so gentle you can also use it multiple times a day without ever drying out the skin. If nothing else has ever worked give this a try!

Pros:

Excellent. It doesn't irritate my skin at all and it leaves it feeling soft instead of dry and hard. It cleans well too; I ran out of benzoyl peroxide for several days and my skin didn't break out in the interim while using this cleanser. Even though

Cons:

I've never worn makeup, but my sister says it doesn't remove it completely. Some women on this forum say it works and some say it doesn't.

Wonderful.

Bit fat disappointment for me!
Was so hopeful this would work. I loved how it didn't have loads of ingredients in it, and when I saw in a magazine that Eva Green used this (she of the perfect porcelain skin), I was like whoop!! Skin heaven here I come. Nope. Nope. Nope. I used it for a week and it broke me out all over my forehead and nose, where I never usually get zits! I hoped this was just a purge spell, but after three weeks I couldn't take the nasty itchy bumps that had gradually spread across my face which took weeks to go down! Sad to say, will not use again.

Most products break me out. This doesn't. [Update: actually, it's not too great for me]
I'm a 28 year old male that has very sensitive skin. Between my teen years and to about 23 years old I had mild to moderate and fairly persistent acne. When I look back I think certain products (face washes bought at Boots etc) made it even worse. Anyway my skin started to clear up for the most part when I was 25. At the time I was using something called Nivea For Men - Sensitive Face Wash. The old formula (which has now apparently been discontinued in the UK; the new one is baaaaad) worked fairly well. I then moved to Pakistan for a while and discovered one of the best face washes I ever used which is known as 'Saeed Ghani Cucumber Face Wash'. I then moved back to the UK and so unfortunately it was no longer available. I then started using something called 'BioEnergy Aloe Vera Bath Gel'. This is in fact hands down the single best face wash (well, 'technically' a 'bath gel') I ever used in my life but unfortunately it was a hotel, single serving bath gel. Can you believe that? A simple hotel product was the best face wash I ever found, despite all the nonsense and marketing they have on mainstream OTC products. I tried going back to the Nivea for Men Sensitive Face Wash once the BioEnergy had finished but I learned that they had changed their formula and it broke me out. Dismayed, I tried a whole other bunch of products from shops and they all broke me out. Believe me, it wasn't just my skin being bad on its own, it was the products themselves. I even tried a product that gets recommended often: 'Olay Foaming Face Wash for Sensitive Skin' and that also broke me out. I didn't think anything was gonna work so I went back to plain old Palmolive soap. I don't break out with soap but the flipside is it makes my skin irritable and dry, all reddish looking. Not nice. So on a whim I decided to order Cetaphil Gentle Skin Cleanser online and thank God it actually works. I've been using this product and since I've started I am again, at last, completely break out free. I don't think this product will take your acne away if you get it regardless of the products you use, but if your skin is anything like mine, it won't aggravate your skin and make it worse. My skin is dependent on the product entirely. Many things break me out but this one doesn't and so I'm finally clear again. There is one con however. I get a very very mild burning sensation when I use it in the shower. It's extremely mild but I do definitely get it. I still give this product five stars though because so many other crappy ones break me out so now that I've finally found something that works again it feels like a godsend. You should remember however that skin is very subjective, of course. Just because this worked for me doesn't mean that it will necessarily work for you. From my experience this is the third best face wash I've ever used. You can see them below: 1. BioEnergy - bath gel - aloe vera (Only available at some hotels!) 2. Saeed Ghani Cucumber Face Wash (Pakistan only) 3. Cetaphil Gentle Skin Cleanser 4. Nivea Sensitive Face Wash for Men (OLD formula only; discontinued in the UK) Hope this helps! Good luck! UPDATE: I'm sorry but it seems I kind of jumped the gun with this product. I see from the review that I wrote this on September 25th, and I've been using the product for a full month now. Unfortunately I also break out with this product. The reason why I was so amazed by it at first was because it was definitely an improvement on what I was using before it, but sadly I still break out with this, just not as much. I really wish i still had access to Saeed Ghani Cucumber wash or that amazing 'BioEnergy' hotel product. Oh well, back to the drawing board in search of something that works...

Love this cleanser

Pros:

Gentle
Non-drying

I find it funny that this cleanser feels like you're rubbing lotion on your face, yet it doesn't leave a filmy feeling afterwards. This isn't helping my acne, but it's keeping my breakouts at bay as opposed to when I was using harsh cleansers, astringents, etc. (That would normally be ironic, but I know better than that at this point). I still need to add something to my routine to see some acne-clearing results, either Rx or BP from the regimen, but this cleanser is a definite staple.

Perfect gentle cleanser

Pros:

gentle
non-drying
cheap

Cons:

none

I love this cleanser. It is so gentle, does exactly what I need it to do. It works better for me than the acne.org cleanser. I found that to be drying. This is not at all. It doesn't foam at all, but that doesn't bother me. I'm still able to put it on in a gentle way. It's the perfect cleanser morning and night. Fits into my Regimen: cetaphil cleanser morning and night, acne.org Benzoyl Peroxide morning and night, cetaphil cream and aha+ at night, Olay spf 15 or L'oreal sublime sun liquid silk during the day.

Perfect for Acne Prone Skin

Pros:

Gentle
Non-Drying

I had really bad acne about a month ago- found this site, and have been using this cleanser in my own version of the regimen. I must say this cleanser is simply AMAZING. It never dries my skin out and doesn't irritate cystic zits or open cuts. Highly recommended :3

Pros:

-very gentle
-non-drying cleanser.
-skin feels nice after use.

Cons:

-when you rub your hands together it does not creat the "foam" that you should expect at a cleanser.

Although I do have a small cons as I listed it's not a reason not to give this product 5 star because it deserves.

Pros:

Very Gentle
Doesn't Dry My Skin Out
Cleanses Face and Body
Does Not Irritate My Skin
Works Great!

Cons:

Shoots out of the bottle easy.
Runs easy.

This is wonderful! I thought I knew what a cleanser was before, but after using this I don't know what a cleanser is anymore. It leaves me feeling fresh and clean after EVERY use. I get the occasional pimples. You have to be very careful it shoots out of the bottle very easy and has a tendency to run everywhere. I use this for my face and body. And for some reason this product even helps me keep from picking a my skin. I just feel so much better using this. Going to be a regular product for me.
