Pros:

- very gentle
- softens skin
- does not dry skin out

Cons:

- does not remove all of make up

For many years I used only medicated cleansers (usually with salicylic acid). I started using Cetaphil a couple of months ago when I had a nasty flare up and started the regimen. As my skin cleared up I started to really notice that my skin felt softer than it had in a long, long time. I tried Cetaphil's formula for oily skin and it dried my skin out. As soon as I switched back my soft skin came back too! Love it!

Pros:

This product is so gentle, you hardly feel like it's washing your face! But as Dan says, the less irritation, the better! I use the generic version of the Cetaphil. It's cheaper and does the same thing.

Cons:

None that I can think of!

My sister and I had our faces "analyzed" one time by some beauty machine that some lady had who was trying to sell us her products. My sister was using a different facial wash than I was. Well, when we looked at my face through the beauty analyzer machine, my face looked AWESOME! I thank God for you, Dan. And my sister switched to my facial wash. Unfortunately, the beauty lady didn't make any sale with us. I was on the RIGHT track with the REGIMEN.

Pros:

Clean, clear, soft, beautiful acne free skin. Smells great too!

Cons:

-

I have been battling breakouts now for about a year - and I'm 26 years old! I have felt like I'm going through puberty again. Anyway - I have tried everything from Proactiv, to Murad, to Dermtalogix - nothing has cleared up my skin. I read the reviews on this website for Cetaphil and thought I'd give it a shot - and I'm so glad I did. It has worked miracles in just days! I can tell my skin is softer and haven't broke out again. I simply cleanse with the Cetaphil, use a gentle toner after to get the excess make-up off and then use a product with some salicylic acid on troublesome spots - VOILA! It's been working great! Thanks everyone!

Pros:

-make ur skin not oily but not dry (the pimple i have dried out very fast)
-doesnt create new breakout
-quite cheap

Cons:

-doesnt lather, thus i need to use a lot of amount
-unscented (may be a cons for some people, but for me its fine)
-pump bottle (difficult to travel with)

I've tried a lot of other cleanser... All those will make me have breakout, the difference between one n other is only less or more breakout... But with this cleaser I dont have new breakout... While the old one start to dry up... usually my face very oily, but cetaphil make me less oily, yet not dry... I can feel that when i wash my face twice in 1 times, with cetaphil my face doesn's have sting sensation, with other cleanser it'll hurt... This product is highly recommended,it has only 1 cons for me which is no lather when u use it...This make me use much of this cleanse than any other...Yet the price isn't so expensive... I think i can clear my face from acne with this cleanser...HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!!!!

Not a cure alone, but a great staple

This shouldn’t be looked at to “cure” acne alone, but rather should be viewed as a strong staple to a balancing skincare regimen.

I have found for myself that using a gentle yet effective cleanser such as this one and saving the harsher “acne fighting” ingredients for my serums and lotions That I put on afterwords, has been the biggest key in finding balance in my skin.

I have found that adding a cleanser that has more acne fighting chemicals in it may seem to work in the beginning, but ultimately my acne never fully went away and I now believe it is because I was over stressing it by using acne cleansers plus acne lotions plus acne serums (all with different ingredients over the years from benzoyl peroxide, AHAs, glycolic acid, etc.). But regardless of what combo I used, I have not seen my skin as clear as it currently is with just using this cetaphil cleanser morning and night and a high quality moisturizer (I’m using Tatcha - The Dewey Skin Cream) and then I also use Differin gel once or twice a week. I also use a vitamin C serum once or twice a week before bed underneath my moisturizer. I’ve been using this face wash for two weeks now and currently have zero active acne spots after battling with acne for the past 6 years. This is the best my skin has looked since that has all happened.
