genital but not effective
I can see why people really like this, but for me it isnt effective. i used it for a month and my break outs got worse. i have a very regimented skin care and i only swap out one thing at a time. i decided to give this a shot since everyone recommends it. it doesnt seem to pull all the oil off my face and after using it for a month my skin was just so oily trying to put make up on was difficult.

The best
It doesn't treat acne, but is great for gently cleaning skin before using acne spot treatment. I have very sensitive skin and this feels great

Gentle - No breakouts!
I wouldn't say its the best ACNE treatment since it doesn't do a lot with fighting spots on its own, but it does a good job with cleaning your face gentley and stopping more spots from forming. Most other cleansers I've used are good at the 'clean feeling', but not so good with keeping acne away. Using this as a base along with a cream of Benzyl Peroxide or Salicylic Acid (E.g. Quinoderm) has been a great way of keeping spots away. Much better than any Garnier/Clearasil or even some of the high market cleanser brands I've come across.

i got this a week ago from my doctor i used to use cetaphil moisturizer for months but concluded it was just making my acne worse n switched to clean n clear oil free n is alot better. i like this in the mornings with cold water after a shower to clean my skin n wake me up. its pleasent to use and my skin feels nice n clean. but since using it ive gotten 3 massive spots when my skin was kinda clearing? so there going ill give it 3 more weeks if doesnt work will have to go in bin :(

Pros:

Didn't break me out
Good for sensitive skin. It didn't sting.
Made my skin feel soft

Cons:

Made my skin look a bit oily/shiny.
Didn't remove make up.

I really like this cleanser, It's gentle and it works well in combination with my topical acne treatment (epiduo). It didn't sting which I have found with many other cleansers and it didn't break me out or irritate my skin. The only downside is that it doesn't remove make up very well at all. This is probably because it is so mild but in my case it made me feel like I had to overwash my face, two or three times in a row, just to romove all of my make up. I feel like this defeated the point of its gentle nature.

Pros:

Very gentle
Doesn't dry out skin
Easy to apply
No smell, not irritating

Cons:

Expensive

I love this cleanser. I went to my aunt's for a week and she had it so I tried it out. I love how it's like a gel, so it goes on smoothly and feels refreshing. Didn't dry out my skin one bit, and my face didn't feel tight after like it usually does with Dan's cleanser. Bottom line, loved it! I am buying this as soon as I run out of Dan's cleanser / if it ever goes on sale lol.

Pros:

-very gentle
-inexpensive
-big bottle last a long time

Cons:

-doesn't lather
-doesn't have that "effective" feeling

i bought this from target for a fairly cheap price. i tried this after seeing many good review about it and it's been a week i've been using this. the result is quite good, my acne is decreasing slowly but surely, and my skin feels more fresh than before. the only i hate about this thing is that it doesn't lather well so putting it on my face kinda hard.

Pros:

Very affordable and accessible

Cons:

Doesn't foam, but I just use a few more pumps than necessary to get a thick coat on my face.

I've had cystic acne since I was 20 years old. Over the past 5 years I've done everything under the sun from using OTC benzol peroxide, organic methods like tea tree oil, birth control, microdermabrasion, several forms of antibiotics, Retin A, Tazorac and FINALLY Accutane. Accutane was a short lived success and my acne returned, though milder. I had spent thousands on visiting dermatologists and I could not afford any new treatments. I decided to try Cetaphil & I wish I had done this before. The non foaming characteristic was always a deterrent for me, but now I just use more of the wash to get the thick feeling I want on my skin. I haven't had any cystic acne for almost two months now. All the previous treatments had me stuck in a sick cycle of drying out my skin, so my sebum glands were over producing oil thus causing breakouts. Now I'm spending a fraction of what I used to and I won't be stepping into a derm's office until I save money for scar treatment! I love Cetaphil.

Pros:

Very Gentle, no irritation. Easy to use and can find the product anywhere.

Cons:

None

I am 38 and have used the product for 20 years. A friend, who had clear skin, recommended it to me. I didn't believe this gentle product would keep my face clear, but it has. I was plagued with acne in my teens and wish I had known about Cetaphil before. My 13 year old son, who has had acne for about a year, started using it last week and his face is almost completely clear. I didn't realize that the typical acne cleanser was causing the irritation and acne. He had been using the Neutrogena On the Spot for a year, because it is the least strong benzoyl peroxide product out there. Thumbs up for Cetaphil!!! I do use store brands also and have found them just as good...
