Pros:

-Helps get rid of pimples, discourages breakouts and blemishes.
-Works really fast!

Cons:

-It has a terrible smell!
-Can burn a bit.

I have used many acne products. I have dry acne-prone skin, so most acne products dry my skin too much. Garlic has worked for me pretty well. But if you apply topically, make sure to mix it with something else. I crush one clove of garlic and mix it with 1-2 Tsp. of raw honey. The honey gives my skin some moisture and makes it so the garlic does not burn my skin. ONLY leave it for 10-20 minutes! If you leave it on for too long it might burn your skin. Garlic can leave your skin a little bit red, but it gets rid of acne really fast.

GARLIC DOES WORK. By applying the juice of one crushed garlic clove for two nights straight my acne had reduce and my skin had cleared up very nicely, when it was applied yes, it sting and smell, i kept it on for about 5 mins or more then wash it off. i have read some of the horrific stories about garlic being applied to the face, but my opinion to that is, garlic does wonders for the dark complexion (brown, black)most of the horrific stories came from light complexion individuals, maybe your skin is too sensitive for such a harsh herb or try it internal not external.

Pros:

Got rid of my pimple

Cons:

It burned/stung my skin and left a red blotch/burn that didn't come off for a couple weeks (eventually it turned purple and went away...)

No, I wouldn't use it. It burned my skin BUT it removed the pimple (although I basicly traded off the pimple for a red blotch....not much of a diffrence! LOL) and it also stings. I hear it works of lots of other people though!

Pros:

Its a natural anti-biotic

Cons:

Some are offended by the smell

The best to take garlic is to absorb it thru the skin. When you eat it the digestive acids in your stomach neutralizes the anti-bacterial agents in the garlic rendering it useless. When you rub it on your skin it goes right thru the skin to your blood to clean it with out passing thru the digestive system. Makes since? This is how I'm going to try it for my acne: Mash 3 cloves and let them sit at room temperature for 15 min. Add 1 cup(varies) water to dilute because it is strong. Leave it at room temperature for up to a couple of days then refrigerate. After adding the water wash your face and use a cotton ball to apply garlic water to your face like and astringent. I'm gonna do it before bed and whenever i'm not going out. I hope those of you who didn't have a good experience the first time, try it again the correct way. Good luck P.S. Pros:

* quite easy to use so long as you have something to blend it with
* works best if freshly blended
* massage onto cyst or pimple, not all over face

Cons:

* I'm dark-complected, and the first couple of times a tried it burned my skin
* use hydrocortisone on the burned or irritated area as it assists in the healing and peeling process (this technique I borrowed from my esthetician)

I've found that blending one clove into a paste works best. I add in a little sesame oil to get it going. Leave on until the burning stops. Then rinse with warm water, or very gently wipe with a hot towel. Now if anyone knows how to get rid of acne scars, please do share...

Pros:

*Nothing it will do absolutely nothing at least not for me!
*Cost = none I got it 4rm my momma.

Cons:

*It stinks like ass!!! It tastes like sh**. What more can you ask for

My mom used to make us eat a spoon full of honey covered garlic each time we got a cold. It got to the point where I was even afraid to get sick. But anywho fast forward a few years and I started breaking out. I used garlic for about 2 weeks and it did nothing but make my breath smell like ass. And through out the day each time I burped it smelled like the garlic...it made me want to throw up and not talk. So I decided while it's natural, I rather not punish myself with eating it.

Pros:

...nothing really.

Cons:

Funky odor!

This stuff REALLY works. Sure it might sting a little, & make your face stink like crap a few days. & your skin might begin to dry up & look like a permanet black mark, it'll work. so instead of applying it, consume it. It worked for me, if your skin is left with acne scars apply, a mixture of viegar & salt & rub on pimples. Leave for 10-20 minutes before removing with Luke warm water, TRUST me..this stuff really works!
