Pros:

I am a 25 year old male. I have had acne for the past 10 -12 years. I started using Dan's regimen and i had some benefits. However, adding fish oil to my diet has gotten rid of my acne COMPLETELY! Its true!

Cons:

None ...other than the fact that to see any effects...you have to use heavy doses. I take 20 capsules every day...each capsule has 1000mg of fish oil.

Try fish oil guys...its very cheap. You can buy a bottle with 400 caps for around 15-20$ in Walgreens/CVS etc. I started supplementing with fish oil as part of my body building diet and it was a very pleasant surprise when my acne cleared off. I have been acne free for about 2 months. Fish oil also has healthy unsaturated fats...so its good for heart, hair etc. But note that i had been using fish oil/flax seed oil before but i used to only have couple of caps per day which did nothing for my acne. For fish oil to work..you have to use a large dose.I use 20*1000mg per day.

Pros:

Works well on acne and great for your health. Unlike face washes and cream applications, taking pills is essentially effortless.

Cons:

High-dose pills are very intimidating to swallow, and it's not easy to haul big fish oil pills around to take at mealtime.

I'm one of those "tried everything" types. Gradually moved up to stronger and different antibiotics, and nothing worked. Face washes and topical treatments dried out my face, especially during Minnesota winters. I considered Accutane, but I was tired of putting chemicals into my body; at some point it's no longer worth the positive effects, right? I tried fish oil on a whim one day, years after I stopped taking antibiotics. Growing up had only partially cured my acne, but fish oil pills literally cleared my face after three or four doses. Sounds crazy, but it's true. My skin is no longer extremely oily, either. I use fish oil together with Erno Laszlo products, which I put on at night. I had used the Erno Laszlo stuff for several years and it had helped a lot but never got rid of everything. Adding fish oil all but solved by acne problems.

Pros:

So worth taking. It helped my daughter in a couple of weeks. Buy it you won't be sorry. GNC fish Oil 300mg

Cons:

None

I tried everything. We did the antibotics plus the wash faithfully. Then one of our friends told us about fish oil and I was willing to try it. It was the best $10.00 I've spent. I bought the 300 mg because they sell alot of the 1000mg but I didn't want it to be too much. Take just one a day of the 300mg from GNC.

Pros:

Good for overall health, inexpensive, no side effects, skin is softer and smoother, hair is very shiny, nails are strong, cholesterol is down

Cons:

Occasional fishy burps (haven't tried the freezer trick, and the burps don't seem to happen when I take regularly vs just starting or after skipping doses)

I have been taking this for a few months and have seen a definite improvement, especially with nods. It's not expensive, I got a huge bottle for less than $20 at Walgreens 750 ct @ 1000 mg - that will last several months. I take between two and four of these per day depending on what I eat. I had been considering Accutane but don't think I will go that route now. Advice to those who think their skin gets oiler - it's VERY important to avoid hydrogenated oils or you won't get the benefits. No fried foods, no chips, no cookies... Read the ingredients before you buy things or put them into your body. Hydrogenated oils and trans fats are bad for you in many more ways than acne-related, anyway. Study up on omega-3 and omega-6 oils. Bring down your intake and 6s and markedly increase your intake of 3s and see what happens.

Pros:

Affordable, good for your cholesterol and cardiovascular health

Cons:

minimal effect on acne.

Have been taking fish oil for almost a year and a half now. I have done both small doses, 4 pills a day, and large doses 10 pills a day ( 2.0 EPA). Unfortunately, I have not noticed substantial benefits acne-wise. Might provide minimal improvement, but I personally do not believe it can have much of an impact on acne.

Pros:

Great for your body, helps balance hormones, may help in aiding weight loss.

Cons:

The pills are a bit intimidating if you are not used to swallowing larger pills.

It's definitely not the greatest treatment of acne out there, but it's great for your health!

Pros:

Very good for your body. Anti-inflamitory

Cons:

the pills can be a bit intimidating to swallow. they are pretty big

I've only been using fish oil pills for about 3 days. I take 2 pills in the morning and 1 at night. it has cleared up my skin pretty well for only 3 days. its so much better than using an acne product because you don't even have to touch your face. but i do recomend you use some kind of face wash just to be sure.

Pros:

The type of fish oil pills that I have tried are perfect and have no bad aftertaste. I've been using Nature Made Fish Oil pills, that I just purchased from Wal-Mart yesterday, and already my acne has been clearing up, within just two times taking it.

Cons:

I bit pricey, but I'm realizing it is worth it. I've noticed it works for some people, and with others it makes their skin worse. I guess it may be too powerful for other people.

This product has worked great for me so far. I know it's only been my second time taking it, but nothing has worked this good on clearing up my skin, and so fast. It works best for me when I take just on fish oil pill a day with a multi-vitamin, and the antioxidant Selenium 200. I know that fish oil pills are good for everything in your body, not just for skin :) so I recommend using this method daily.
