Pros:

Helps Joint pain
Help eye dryness

Cons:

Huge pills, can be hard to get down
If you don't get the odorless or burpless pills you will taste fish in your mouth all day long, pretty nasty

Been a lifesaver since starting Accutane, I was having sore joints and after 2 weeks of taking this supplement my joint pain went away!

Pros:

better skin - less bumps and looks more healthy
less redness

Cons:

price (should stay away from cheaper pills)
high dosage requirement = long term health risks
taste = yuck!

After doing a bit of research and comparisons on the market of fish oil, I decided to go with a moderately priced but vegan option of omega3's and 6's. It's NutraVege and it is an omega 3&6 supplement that is derived from plant base life. Not gonna go into details, but basically you're just taking in what fishes eat (sea plant life...etc. but they eat a lot of it and produces fatty acids). Considering that if I were to take fish oils for an extended period of time as well as at a higher dosage, I figure that it is worth while to invest in a vegan option which may potentially cut out the risk of accumulating nasty chemicals from fishes. I also wanted to do away with the gel-caps so I opted for the oil. It tastes nasty and naturally, feels like downing a spoon full of oil. But it has definitely improve my skin texture, glow and reduce redness. I've been taking this in the evening either before or after meal. Oh yeah, and I do burp with that nasty taste, but it beats having bad skin. I actually took only half the recommended dosage. But it works for me.

Acne is smaller
Acne is less red

Cons:

Fishy taste with cheap pills

Taking 2-3 pills a day with food, and its a great natural anti-inflammatory which helps with a lot of areas on the body including acne. Even cut down on my migraines a little.

Pros:

Good for your joints, prevents acne breakouts.

Cons:

None

I have read some comments here saying that the Fish Oil has caused some people to breakout in pimples. It has done the opposite for me. I have had less pimples on my face and there are no more large ones.

Pros:

Works within days. Pimples disappear almost completely. Even texture of skin is transformed.

Cons:

none.

If you have acne problems, fish oil is definitely the way to go. I hate that I figured this out late in life (I'm 28). I started taking fish oil in spring of this year, and my skin has been pretty much pimple free since I started using them. You notice the difference with two to three days. My existing pimples begin to clear up. The texture of my skin was noticeably different; it became smooth and brighter. Sometimes I get a pimple or two during PMS, but it is much easier to treat it with pimple cream. Some people on here are complaining about cost, just go to the vitamin section in Wal-mart. You can get them there for about $8.

Pros:

Easy to take, clearer skin within two weeks time, no new breakouts, more energy, has a lot of other positive health effects

Cons:

Won't help very much if you have a greasy or unhealthy diet, also won't help if you only use that as your way to handle acne. Doesn't work for everyone.

A relative told me about fish oil and how their acne cleared up after using it. I though hey, I'd give it a try. Two weeks into it, I really started noticing my new lack of pimple formation. Granted I still had a few scars from previous zits, I was still very happy about the effects that it gave me. Also, It's good for the heart and a few other things. For the people that it didn't work for, it may be that they are only using fish oil as a treatment for acne (which unfortunately doesn't work) or they have bad luck or bad skin. I'm sorry. It worked for me though! :)

Pros:

its made my skin glow a bit, although to be honest im usin bp and its just made my skin kinda half dry half oily, definatly makes your skin more oily which for me just isnt good.

Cons:

oily skin, doesnt actively get rid of spots (no evidence anywhere to suggest it does either, trust me iv researched)

you can buy it if your confident enough that your skin will be ok with a bit of oil on there, as it gives your skin a glow and a healthyish complexion, however personally, i just feel comfortable knowing theres no acne on there while using bp, so i may stop takin these and stick with a 1 a day vitamin D/multi supplement. oh yeah and iv been taking 6 grams of fish oil per day.

FO caplets = BAD, eating fish = GOOD
Oily, hormonal-acne skin. So years ago I was taking fish oil *caplets* for my health and I think (though not sure) that the caplets were causing some cysts because they stopped forming once I stopped taking the caplets. And a family member said the caplets made their skin very oily. If you read about fish oil caplets, some would say that the oil is of inferior quality or is even rancid and thus could be causing acne... HOWEVER! I started eating fish everyday (herring, sardines, occasionally salmon - NOT the big mercury fishes) and it does not cause acne, and instead I think it helps my skin! One day I visited Little Tokyo LA and ate of nothing but sashimi/sushi that day and the next day my skin was glowing. So, fish oil helps but not as caplets, but as actual fish!

Pros:

Helps with inflammation and redness

Cons:

Fish burps, pills are very large and sometimes hard to swallow

I have taken fish oil for like 3 years - when my acne was more light / moderate, I felt this helped. However, I've developed more severe nodular acne and stopped taking fish oil as I need stronger meds. Bottom line: This will probably help your light acne and is worth trying, I don't think it's worth trying for Stage 3-4 acne.
