Pros:

you just swallow
smooth soft skin - relief flaky dry skin if you are on acne treatments
natural and no side effects if used correctly

Cons:

carry them with you as you need to take them with meals

I used to have moderate acne, including alot of painful cystic acne that would last for weeks and weeks. I have very dry skin because of acne treatments, but the fish oil has really helped and I believe it has lightened my scars a fair bit! most who are experiencing initial breakouts is due to your skin purging! Like anything that detoxes internally, you must be patient and also use topical treatments to minimize symptoms. just give it a try, it' natural and you probably don't get enough in your diet anyway. does amazing things for your hair as well

Pros:

There are no side effects!
Takes a second to swallow
Works very well!

I had moderate acne all over my face and the fish oil has seriously made my acne become less red. It had cut down on a ton of the inflammation. I've also been drinking a lot of water, but these fish oil pills have been working wonders. I take 4 a day (2 morning, 2 night) and I don't think I'll ever stop taking them. They're great

Pros:

Cysts caused by acne are gone

Cons:

Takes a few months to see complete results
I have to carry pills around with me so I can take them when I am not at home

It didn't clear up all my acne, but it did get rid of painful cysts. Before this, the only thing that would get rid of these cysts was birth control. In conjunction with retin-A (0.025%) I'm completely clear. Without fish oil, the retin-A just makes the cysts worse. I buy 1200mg fish oil from Costco, and I take 6 a day. I've tried taking less, but the cysts start to emerge again. I eat very healthy and exercise. I found this on [link removed]. You can search through thousands of research articles done on acne. Fish oil had proven results!

Pros:

helped clear my acne, hyperpigmentation and leaves my skin alot smoother and less oily.

Cons:

none as far as i can tell

I've read several reviews on here with people saying this does not work, but most of the people do not know how to dose fish oil properly. If done correctly it can do miracles for your skin. I use NOW ultra omega 3 which contains 500 mg of EPA and 250 mg of DHA per capsules (one of the most potent fish oil formulas on the market at a cheap price). I take 4 of these with spread out through the day with my meals or snacks. EPA is an inflammatory and for most people to notice any kind of a difference in their skin (especially those with more severe acne) I would suggest getting in atleast 1.5-2 grams/ day. I guarantee atleats 80% of the reviewers here that is giving fish oil a bad name is using cheap, low concentrated fish oil capsules and are simply not getting enough EPA into their bodies to notice any dramatic difference. I've experimented with different dosages already, at 1 gram my acne calmed down alot, but i would still get occasional pimples, at 2 grams of EPA now daily, I haven't had any new pimples for around 2 weeks. Bottom line- make sure you get enough EPA and DHA into you daily (2g/1g) -buy an ultra concentrated fish oil like NOW ULTRA OMEGA 3 -take capsules with meals to improves its digestion, dont take them all at once or some of the acid will not get absorbed. -GIVE IT TIME, it will take atleast 2-3 months to really start noticing dramatic changes in your skin, health, and well being. DO NOT rush this process, it does work.

Pros:

-Gave skin glowy look
-Made skin smooth and moisturized
-Got rid of whitheads and small acne

Cons:

-Made me break out terribly! I only took this for a week but it made me break out in 10 massive cystic pimples on my chin, I usually get one in a week!
-It's supposed to regulate hormones but I found my moods swinging and had a lot of anxiety while taking this

The bottom line is I think this product should not be recommened to those with hormonal acne. If you predominatly get cysts on your chin I would never take this product!! I know my acne is hormonal and I know taking this fish oil is what caused me to break out like I never have before. The cysts it caused were very deep in the skin and extremely painful. As soon as I stopped taking it I had no new breakouts. I believe if you have acne that is not caused by a hormonal disorder fish oil could work, it's beneficial to health and may help some. If you have hormonal acne, please take my advice and stay away from this supplement! Try taking some zinc (50mg a day) and drinking lemon water and green tea, this has helped my skin recover faster from the horrid effects of fish oil.

Cons:

gave me AWFUL breakouts
(see below)

i know its very healthy for you but i took this for a week (i know i shouldve taken longer to see if it was coincidence but i dont think it was) and it broke me out awful. of the seven days i got 5 MASSSIVE pimples that, not to be gross, were very puss-filled and took a while for them to go away because everytime i thought they were popped there was more. im glad this works wonders for some but i didn't for me. and im a 17 year old male

Pros:

soft clean skin
reduces redness in hyperpigmentation
natural way to clear acne

Cons:

needs to be taken throughout the day with meals for best results

I have always suffered from periodic breakouts that would leave stubborn red marks on my face for months and months. After reading so many great reviews on fish oil i decided to give it a try and i am so happy that i did. Within a week the red marks on my face began getting smaller and smaller, and after one month, my skin has really brightened and evened out. I have tried some different whitening creams that simply did not work but fish oil has really made a difference in my complexion and it is getting better day by day. I also recommend evening prim rose oil because it shares the anti inflammatory properties that fish oil has and it also works great for clearing acne and eczema!

Pros:

Cleared up my eczema
I a lot more healthy since taking the fish oil caps
No fishy after taste or "fish burps"

Cons:

I haven't seen a reduction in my acne

Started taking these when I heard how amazing fish oil is for skin. I have pretty bad adult acne right now for the first time in my life. I also suffer from eczema all over my face (around my eyes, on my chin and down my neck) I have been suffering from eczema for the past two years and seemed to be spreading all over my face and at exactly the same time, I started getting sever acne. So I started taking fish oil and within a month all of my eczema as cleared up. Unfortunately, I can't say the same for my acne.
