Pros:

makes skin smooth,
dry flakes are gone

Cons:

none yet

I have been taking Holland and Barrett Evening Primrose Oil 1000 mg pill only in the morning. In combination with this I have been taking Cod Liver Omega 3 1000mg, Panthotanic Acid 500mg and Zinc 25mg. My skin feels very smooth and soft and there are not as many bumps as there were before. I only have one live spot at the moment. I have also decided not to touch it except while washing my face. I have not noticed any changes to the brown marks that have been left behind by acne but seeing the texture of my skin, I am hoping for the best.

Pros:

Helps with acne due to hormones

Cons:

Expensive

Someone recommeded this to me and said that it would help to get rid of acne due to hormones and stress. After a month of using it, I saw a difference, it definitely helps, and it's a natural plant product, so it doesn't mess your hormones up. Just a good supplement. It is expensive, but worth the price. The dosage is high, so remembering to take 6-8 capsules a day is tough. It does work better if you take the full dosage though, and if you pay the higher price for the better quality product. I also found a product at a health food store that was a sort of chocolate raspberry syrup with the oil in it to mix into foods, another good option! Also, i'm guessing that this product would be far less effective for males than for females.

Pros:

Natural

Cons:

Remembering to take it

I take 3 x 1000mg per day. Acne flared up terrible after I came off the pill and I didn't want to go back on the pill as that was just messing with my hormones so I was always going to be faced with acne when I came off the pill again. My mum has been telling me to take EPO since I was about 13 (am 26 now) so finally thought I would give it try. And am glad to say it works, I took it and also used Quinoderm cream on my skin and within a week my skin was back to how it was when I was on the pill. The only con is remembering to take it - but that's just because I'm forgetful. I would definitely recommend this.

Pros:

EVERYTHING

Cons:

None

Okay people ..you have to know one thing. Evening primrose oil should be taken with EFAs (Essential Fatty Acids) that is when it works best!!!!!! EPO is a fat know as GLA (gamma-linolenic acid) and should be used with EFA fats (such as vitamin A - COD LIVER OIL) Look it up. It has done wonders for me Goodluck =) xoxo

Pros:

Cleared hormonal acne on chin and neck

Cons:

None

I turned 41 recently and have been going through hormonal ups and downs. In the past, I had been using MD Forte Cleanser III and Dan's BP and my face had remained clear. When I hit 41, everything changed...out of the blue, I started to get breakouts on my chin and neck...I felt like I was in high school all over again! I had read about EPO as a supplement which helps hormones even out and I started taking it daily, also adding 1,000 mg Vitamin C and still continuing to use the MD Forte Cleanser and Dan's BP. I have noticed drastic improvement in my skin by adding these two supplements...the neck and chin breakouts cleared up completely and quickly. The supplements don't cost much and it's worth a shot giving it a try if you are dealing with hormonal fluctuations.
