Pain pain pain.
Ok so most of you might not agree with my results or time period using this product but for me it hasn't done any favours. I have NEVER sufferd with acne as bad this year as I have in the past. A few years a ago I got prescribed "lymacycline" and it did the trick to clear up (or so I think) but this month when I started to develop different signs and more spots than usual I went to the docters for something stronger and he prescribed me this gel "isotrexin". After reading reviews and not finding many good ones I was willing to give it a go and hope that it would work for me. He did specify that it might take a few weeks to work and now I'm three weeks in I refuse to use this gel anymore. After reading reviews I took into consideration that my skin may get worse before it for better, skeptical about using it I had a go for the benefit of my face. However, it has made my face red, sore, dry and uncomfortable. The skin doesn't look healthy and looks inflammed and irritated. I have tried to put moisturiser on to stop the flakiness/dry patches under my makeup but my skin would flake and you can still see the scars. Each day I would wake up with a new painful spot or even a boil under the skin. No matter how much makeup I tried to use it didn't cover or help the situation. I might not have given it long enough to work but during the 3weeks I used it I was in constant pain and discomfort hence why I decided to stop. Everyone is different and will react in different ways. At the moment I'm back using my dermologica products and staying clear of any gels or creams prescribed medically. I hope this don't put you off using it if you do have it, I was just expressing my time whilst using it. Please feel free to ask me any questions x Charlotte 21 :)

I experienced the same as you. However i used i first started using it October 2015-january 2016 and at first it made my skin dry and cleared my face a little bit. After 8weeks i decided to stop using it amd my acne came back much worse. I started using it again last month and have only been using it for 6.5 weeks and my skin is clear now and my acne scars are starting to fade. But when trying for the second time i had worse reactions. My skin burnt like i had been in the sun for too long and went bright red. But after using it for a few weeks the symptoms went and now its all clear.

Pros:

skin less oily, even though i have only been using this for four days!
Drying up spots
pushes out whiteheads
spots that are coming are not that inflamed!

Cons:

only use a little bit or ur skin will get dry

hi! I was prescribed with this treatment after i startedto break out a little bit after 6 months of roaccutane. My breakouts were pretty mild but they wer really stressing me out, so, i have been using this for 4 days and my skin is significantly lesr oily and a few whiteheads are popping out. Also, my inflamed acne is drying up and the spots that are coming througg now are smaller and less inflamed. I would recommend this products for pppl with mild to moderate acne! Its better than panoxyl

horrible!!
used this after panoxyl face wash being discontinued- its the worse thing ever- applied only at night it coats your skin with a plastic layer and makes it so tight its impossible to move your face. I feel because of its gel-like consistency it never really soaks in it just sits on your skin? not nice! would not reccomend!

What an ignorant amd close-minded review. You rate it 2 stars and "horrible" based on its consistency only, but not on whether it actually works or not. And how tf do you know whether or not it actually soaks into the skin? Are you a chemist to know the interactions it has with your skin when applied, beyond a superficial level when initially applied? Maybe if you would have had the sense to wait it out and study how it works for you, aside from its "consistency"(because of course, you only bought it for how it "feels"

Pros:

helps your acne.

Cons:

risk of lossing your health in many diffrent ways.

I've been using isotrexin for a few months. When my doctor perscibed me isotrexin I read many good reviews here and wanted to give it a shot. It did really work, cleared my acne mostly (not completely) and I was happy UNTIL I had an eye problem about a month ago. I went to many eye doctors and they coulnd't figure out what it is. I also had hair loss that scared me. Long story short, after many doctor visits and a terrible month with eye blurrines/irritation/pain, I found out that the problems are side effect of Isotrexin. I had no idea how dangerous Isotrexin was. It has the same ingredient with accutane and this ingredient is banned in the US. I stopped using isotrexin and my eye is getting better. Hopefully I'll get my hair back, and hopefully it didn't do any other damage.. Bottom line: NOT WORTH the risk!

Cons:

its hard to say if the cream works or not coz if been using it for 2 mnths now and acne medication is not new to my face ....so it shouildnt take so long to show its effects!! ive used DIFFERIN,ZINERYT, CLINDAMYCIN...i think the doctor is now experimenting on me...my acne has never ever gone for as good as 1 week atleast!! i have always had acne..n no medicine...even the azithromycin thought its useless i dissolved.....n it gave up on me
