Pros:

cheap, natural(no side effects),easily available, not drying, works, can be used on hair(makes it really soft.)

Cons:

hate the smell.

My dermatologist gave me a facewash that i've been using for a while, but it was over-drying my skin and making it red where it was dry so I couldn't use it very often. I wanted coconut oil for my hair anyways, so I used it on my face too. It reduced the size of an upcoming pimple and mosturized all the dry parts, making my skin even. Haven't even used it for that long. Hopefully it'll improve my skin alot.

Pros:

Works, and fast!

Cons:

I can't apply makeup on top. It leaves the face greasy for a few hours.

I can't believe I didn't know about this before! It is almost like a miracle. I have tried it all and this makes my skin just glow and look so flawless. I have only been using it fir a few days, so I hope it lasts, but wow it worked so quickly for me. I have also started using lavendar essential oil as a spot treatment underneath this. Great! I usually use lots of expensive products, but this may end all that; here's hoping! I'm using food grade, organic, expeller pressed, virgin coconut oil from whole foods.

Pros:

It works! Be sure to get the Organic Extra Virgin kind. The oil has many uses...you can eat it, use it as a body moisturizer and even as a hair conditioner! Very affordable pricing for a jar and it lasts a long time.

Cons:

Leaves skin with a little bit of an oily finish...but that soon goes away.

I have used Dan's BP treatment and it has been working well for years...however, I just turned 40 and along with that came thyroid and hormonal issues. I started to get breakouts on both sides of my neck (tiny red marks and pimples). I tried dabbing the BP on it, but my neck is soooo fair and sensitive, it left it red and iritated. I had recently purchased a jar of organic extra virgin coconut oil as I heard it helps with thyroid. I was browsing this website and I saw where people had positive results using the coconut oil for acne. I figured I had nothing to lose by putting some on my neckline where the small bumps/pimples were....and sure enough, it looked better the next morning. Best of all, no irritation. I have only been using it for a week, but the acne has improved greatly. I am now wondering if I should try this on my face and see if it works as good as, or better, than the BP!

How did you use the two in combination?

Wasn't good for me to put it on topically
My skin type: very oily, quite sensitive, main acne problems are: pustules (predominantly) cysts (around jaw line) blackheads (nose, cheeks, chin, temples) mild/moderate acne Tried applying coconut oil on topically for a week or so, but made my skin itch and was very very oily, also seemed to break me out more in pustules. I also tried massaging it on my hands (to make them soft) and broke me out in a mild rash, so this is obviously not the right thing for me but may be for someone else, who knows.....

Love the smell and it's very effective!

Pros:

Very effective for candia infections
Easy to find
All natural

Cons:

Some people break out from it

It's smells wonderful it's like being on the beach. Completely cleared up my skin yeast infection. Also works as a good moisturizer and a good spot treatment for acne. Also good internal eating too!

Pros:

Loosened up acne deep in the skin.
Softer skin.

Cons:

Cannot stop using daily or you will break out again.
Does not stop acne from springing up.

I started this regiment a full year ago with moderate acne. I had problems with my t-zone and had begun forming nodule pimples around my cheek area. Initially, the acne got horribly visible as all of the deep acne from years of dry skin started loosening up and surfacing. I had a pimple that I hadn't gotten all of when I was 13 resurface. After the initial "purging" I noticed an immediate change in my skin. My skin was no longer red and blotchy from picking or using salacylic acid treatments and acne was very minimal and they would surface and go away within a few days. Here we are a year later. I do see now that you MUST continue the treatment or your skin will go back to that previous state. In my opinion (not a doctor) I believe the coconut oil just moisturizes your face and thus loosens up the acne before it can get too bad. Is this an end to all of your worries about acne? No Is this a good way to prevent acne from accumulating? Yes.

Pros:

• Reduces acne size/speeds up healing process
• Pushes up black heads
• Leaves skin moisturized
• Smells awesome
• Doesn't cause new breakouts
• You only need a little so it lasts awhile
• Has so many other uses. Look it up.

Cons:

•A bit greasy

1) The most important thing you need to know before you try it is to buy the right kind. Only 100% virgin coconut oil. 2) The consistency of the product depends on the temperature. I find that when I store it in a cool place it is white and semi-solid but melts easily. When it is hot or left in the sun it is a clear liquid. 3) It comes in a jar which isn't very sanitary, and even though it is an antibacterial, as soon as I buy it I transfer it to a squeeze bottle I bought from Walmart. 4) The only time I apply it to my face is after a shower when my skin is stil wet, otherwise it doesn't get absorbed and just sits there. 5) I also use it in my hair as a substitute for conditioner, so when I have my bangs down I don't get acne on my forehead. 6) It does remove makeup and is a little greasy so I only use it at night. 7) Might stain bedding. 8) Good substitute for tanning lotion 9) Off topic a bit but it does help you lose weight when ingested internally. So guys, just try it. Everybody is different and you won't know until you do it yourself.

Pros:

Fades hyper pigmentation
Evens skin tone and texture
Prevents acne
Speeds up healing process
Smells awesome
Great hair/lip/hand treatment

Cons:

A tad greasy

I use this every time wash my face as a moisturizer and it works great! It is a little greasy at first, but is definitely less greasy later on in the day than my Aveeno moisturizer I used to use. I noticed after about a week that my skin tone evened out, my pores and blackheads shrank, I had less acne, and they healed faster than usual. I had a big hyper pigmentation scar on my leg from a fall, and after applying a bit of coconut oil to it, it faded too! I heard that for some people, they get a break out the first time they used it for a while. It didn't happen to my face, but when I applied it to my bacne, I did notice a breakout so I just stuck to sesame oil for my back scars.. I want to see if it goes away after a while, but prom is coming up and I didn't want to risk it. Bottom line, it's cheap (at trader joe's at least), it works, and it smells like almond joys! I really love it!!

Pros:

great moisturizer for my face, makes skin soft and smoooth

Cons:

little whiteheads that form, but they go away as fast as they came, its part of the process to clean out the bacteria underneath the skin

I LOVE IT!! has helped me so much with the redness on my cheeks and nose. mixed with some lavender oil great stuff...a lot of people give up on coconut oil because of the whiteheads, but give it some time maybe a week or two and my skin looks and feel like is healing..heaven sent...get Organic raw unrefined coconut oil..massage it onto the face don't just leave it on..make sure it absorbs in your skin..believe me i am in shock right now
