Pros:

Cleared up acne

Cons:

Made face oily
Expires quickly

I used this in the morning under my make-up, and it cleared up my acne. Unfortunately, it made my face extremely oily and I was constantly blotting my face. I was hoping the Acanya would make my skin look better, not worse! I went back to the dermatologist to get something else and now I'm trying BenzaClin. Hopefully that works better. Also, Acanya exires 2 months after you open it. There was no way I could have used the entire pump in 2 months, even with applying it every morning. It's a waste of money. Maybe they should consider making a smaller pump if they can't keep it from expiring so quickly.

Pros:

-cheap with insurance
-easy to use
-get a lot of product for your money

Cons:

-VERY drying, but I have extremely sensitive skin
-Takes a long time to work
-Need to use daily rather than as a spot treatment
-Doesn't seem to work by itself

I started to get painful cystic acne my junior year of high school (around age 16). My dermatologist prescribed Acanya for me, and I wish he had given me something else. I have been using it for over a year, and it doesn't seem to work. I apply it every night before I go to bed, and it might have reduced the severity of my acne, but since I still get painful pimples that last for weeks, I don't really know if it helped. It dries my skin out and makes my face peel as if I had a terrible sunburn. I need to use a lot of moisturizer along with it, which kind of defeats the purpose of using a cream that dries out your acne. The good thing about it is that it is a gel, rather than a pill, so there are no big concerns that would go along with taking a strong prescription pill.

Pros:

Worked quickly
Easy to use

Cons:

Dryness
Allergic reaction

Noticed a big difference on my forehead after one day! After 3 days my chin and cheeks started to clear up, then started to itch, then burn, then turned completely white from dry skin, then got red and swollen with massive bumps all over the place. Turns out I'm allergic to Benzol Peroxide... yay... I recommend testing it on a small area of skin just so you know what your skin's normal reaction will be.

Good, not the best
It worked when I first got it but after a while I feel like it is just drying my skin and not helping anymore.
