Pros:

It actually works - I was using Tazorac with little success. Once I switched to this, there was a rapid difference.

Cons:

Leaves face looking oily - if you use right before bedtime, not a big deal.

I use 3 medications - Ziana at night, Rosula NS pads in the morning, and 1 tablet of Doxycycline (100mg) a day - with this combination, my skin has been much improved. It's not perfect - I'll get a zit here and there - it's so much better than it was about a year ago.

Pros:

Exfoliates skin, is not as harsh as Retin-A

Cons:

Is very sticky (but if my skin is going to clear up it is totally worth it!)

I've only been using this for 2 weeks which is why I only gave it a 3 for how well it works. So far, things are so much better! I can see the light at the end of the tunnel. The texture of my skin is very smooth and a lot of my problem areas are much clearer. I think I am having some purging but it's 1 or 2 at a time, which, after having my ENTIRE face break out at once recently is manageable! I can't wait to see where I'll be at 4 wks, 8 wks and 12 wks. The thought of having clear skin for the holidays this year makes me really happy! I'll report back and let you know the progress at each stage. PS-There is a rebate on the Ziana website for $35 so it was free for me!

Pros:

Works great and leaves skin feeling soft and brighter. Works perfectly well. The best part of it is that I got it free from my dermatology.

Cons:

Purging period is annoying. Makes your face really nasty at the beginning.

You just have to give it some time to work, about 5 to 6 weeks. After that, it starts clearing out your skin nicely. Stick to it and you will be amazed!

Pros:

cleared up back and chest
clears acne on face quickly

Cons:

a bit of redness if I use it every night

This worked best for my back and chest. I no longer have any acne in those areas. It works ok on my face. I can't use it every night because it causes some redness, but it does clear up my skin very quickly. I use it about 3 times a week and that seems to work best for my skin. No side effects that I've noticed.

Pros:

Treats breakouts significantly faster in combination with my daily Solodyn antibiotic acne pills. Leaves skin's surface feeling smoother when you wake up the next morning. One tube will last a long time.

Cons:

Minimal drying and peeling for the first couple of days. Doesn't seem to fade post acne marks the way my dermatologist said it would.

It is to be applied at night before you go to bed. Let it dry overnight and start seeing results each morning after at least a week of consistent use.

Pros:

Cleared severe acne/cysts completely-- only product to ever do this
No side effects (in my case)

Cons:

Can be drying for many people
Not covered by my ins. $200 per tube.

I did Proactiv, Differin, Benzoyle,Clindamyacin, etc, etc. The only thing left was Accutane. I doubted this product, but it worked. I did have the initial bad breakout (as you will with most products), and after a couple months my skin was completely clear. I've used the product for two years. I am starting to get some breakouts on my chin again, but this is still far better than my skin ever was before. If you try to use this more than once a day, you will get flaky. You may want to start w/ every other, if sensitive. Each tube costs me out of pocket $200, but the tube will last 3-6 months. I was happy to pay for a product that cleared severe cystic acne.

Pros:

Exfoliates gently, is not too harsh on skin, spreads over skin easily

Cons:

The purging!!!

**UPDATE** I've been using Ziana for 4 weeks now. Week 2 was great, week 3 was miserable! I barely left the house that week and I have more scarring from that breakout. Ziana seems to do nothing for the big red swollen pimples. Week 4 has been a little better. I can tell that this product is working but day to day I never know how I will wake up. It could be a day with no new pimples or 10 new ones. I really want this product to work and the derm told me that it won't even start to work until the 6 week point. So until then, I hang in there......

Pros:

clears up whiteheads, blackheads, baby pimples, makes pores look smaller and clear skin smoother

Cons:

doesn't work for cystic acne

I was on accutane about three years ago for 8 months and it was the true wonder drug. about six months ago my acne started to come back and my derm gave me the prescription for differn. that didn't work at all so in the middle of august she gave me a prescription for ziana and i filled it the same day. my routine in the evening is wash with a neutrgena soap, dry skin and apply ziana. in the morning i wash with a 5% benzol perixode soap and then apply moisturizer. about 10 minutes later i apply some makeup. my skin has cleared up and my coworker (8 years and has seen it all) says that my skin looks smoother. my only problem is that i still get some monsters (cystic acne). i went to the derm and she said to give it another month. i'd rather not go back on accutane but it is too soon to tell. i'll keep you posted

Pros:

Light-weight, only once a day application

Cons:

a little drying and stining but definitely not bad at all

I've only been on it for two weeks and I'm already seeing results! I really like this product because it's not too harsh or overdrying. My derm gave me enough samples to last two months so I can see if this product works for me before I buy it. It also comes with a rebate which is nice because it is pricey.
