Pros:

none

Cons:

oily skin, redness, major break-outs, no grace period

this stuff stinks. and i don't mean it smells bad - this gel does not work. at least, not for me. not only does it feel sticky, but it leaves my skin feeling very oily and seems to have made my pores larger. my skin looks awful. i'm throwing ziana in the trash. it might just all be in my head. this stuff has made me stress out so bad i'm breaking out on my neck! i'm going back to tazorac.

Pros:

Does not burn like Tretinoin Gel/Retin-A Gel.

Cons:

Did not calm down the cystic acne. Not as effective as Tretinoin. Very expensive--my health plan didn't cover it all that much so I paid $112.75 for a tube.

Not worth it, except if you have mild acne. Not good for cystic acne.

Pros:

Once-a-day application.

Cons:

High price ($50+ copay per tube, w/list price of $250+)
Causes acne to worsen initially (was warned about this by derm)
Takes 6 weeks to see improvement (according to derm)

This product DID NOT work for me. In fact, it made my mild to moderate acne much worse. When I start using Ziana, I would say my acne was about a 3 on a scale of 1 to 10. After 6 weeks, I'd have to say it's now a 7 or 8. I expected some degree of initial breakout, but after seeing my acne get so much worse during treatment, I now have to try to clear new lesions. To add insult to injury, this product also has made my skin severely oily -- to the point where it is making my hair oily by the end of the day. Definitely NOT recommended.

Pros:

it's light weight not harsh

Cons:

havent seen much difference

I have been using this for a month now, I have mild acne. I havent seen much improvement I still have massive bumps all over my face. My doctor says to stick with it so I'm trying to be optimistic. I have tryed diffren before and that seemed to work better (only problem with diffren it worked for a month then stopped working all together) I'm going to stick with it till I run out but if I dont see any improvement within a month I dont think I will use this product anymore

Pros:

Helped to clear the acne on my back.

Cons:

Worsened the acne on my chest X10
Didn't help much with the acne on my face
Purging Period

I washed with 10% Panoxyl and used Ziana. The acne on my chest became sooooo much worse. It didn't do much to my face, it may have helped with my back, but I think that was mainly due to the Panoxyl. Combine with Panoxyl it was very drying, left my chest itchy, red and dry.

Pros:

cleared almost ALL blackheads
worked quickly and very well at first

Cons:

extremely dry/sun sensitive skin
if you quit using it, face breaks out much worse

It worked well for about 3 weeks and then almost overnight my face dried out so badly I couldnt even put lotion on to help because it hurt so badly. I tried the nurses advice and started skipping a day in between using the gel, but my face was broken out so badly I couldnt get it back under control without it drying my skin and causing extreme peeling.

Pros:

-worked lightly.
-Despite being a gel, was not fast absorbing.
-A LOT was in the tube!!
-was non-drying.

Cons:

-Did very little about my acne.

I have been using the Ziana gel for 5 months, mostly just to finish up the tube, it has SO MUCH in it!! But it did nothing, honestly. It's gentle and non-drying, but I'd rather have something abrasive that gets the job done that I might have to pack on the lotion for. Overall, did nothing for my acne even after long-term usage.

Pros:

Brings down inflammation

Cons:

Leaves behind extremely stubborn pigmentation all over your face, expensive even with insurance

I was happy with Ziana when I first started using it. But now I have spots left all over my face where I used the product to clear my skin. The pimples went down, but now they're all under the skin. The spots left behind are brown and only on one side of my face and don't respond to salicylic acid face wash. Don't buy this, try something else.

Pros:

My acne scars have been fading, my pores appear smaller, and so far, I have only minor breakouts.

Cons:

The Ziana gel feels sticky on my face, I have a cough with phlegm, and my face gets extremely oily by the end of the day. I've been getting headaches lately, I'm not sure if it's because of Ziana.

My face got much worse at first. I became depressed with all the acne on my face. After about two weeks I began to notice improvement. It's been almost a month now and my skin feels a lot smoother, the scars are fading away. I still get one or two pimples but they clear away in a few days (versus months, sometimes). I have also switched all of the products that I use on my face. I only use products that say Non-comedogenic or non-acnegenic, and oil-free (including my foundation). I use benzoyl peroxide for spot treatment when I have a pimple. I do plan to continue using this prodct, but I am cautious not to overuse it (just a little before bed time).

Pros:

it was free..the derm gave me samples

Cons:

my skin has never felt so unhealthy. Still breaking out. Dry and peeling like crazy!

Nightmare!!!
