Pros:

Worked well for me for about a year.

Cons:

Makes face oily, after about a year my face started getting red, dry and irritated all the time. Lowered the dosa and finally had to stop completely.

26 year old female with stubborn hormonal acne mostly around chin. Ziana kept my face realtively clear for about a year (using no other products but Cerave cleanser and moisturizer). At the year mark, my skin started protesting and had to stop using it.

Pros:

It works. Fantastically. It also doesnt dry out my skin like my dermatologist said it did which was what I mainly worried about because I have dry skin.

Cons:

- A bit expensive around $100 for the non generic brand
- Your acne gets significantly WORSE before it gets better. IF this happens to you, dont worry, the initial breakout should subside and you should see improvements in about a month

TRY IT. THis is the ONLY thing (along with the 10% benzyol peroxide cream) that worked for me. I tried all of the cleansers and creams and masks and peels and systems etc. that promised clear skin, but my acne is stubborn and it didnt help even a little bit. If you are like me, you should really give this a go because it worked for me and alot of my friends too:)

Pros:

Cleared up cystic acne and when new pimples come up, they subside in 2-3 days. Cheap as I have only bought one container of the gel and it's last me 3 months. Also, no mood-altering side effects!

Cons:

Very difficult to handle in beginning. My skin peeled like crazy and was very red. Also, it has been very slow healing on the shallow scars left over from the cystic acne.

This is a pretty good product. When I first began using it, I had large, painful cystic acne all over my cheeks. The gel will make your skin peel in the beginning but trust me don't give up. I'm about three months into using Ziana and I hardly get any more cysts (and if I do, it's gone within 2 days). Although it has not completely cleared up the scarring left over from the acne, my scars continue to fade and seem to get better every day. Last pieces of advice: do NOT pick acne when on this gel, it will just make it worse and if the peeling gets really bad, use tweezers to lift off the excess skin (an especially good technique if you're applying makeup daily). Good luck!

Pros:

Helps clear up already existing pimples quickly and is easy to use.

Cons:

It is expensive, it didn't prevent my acne from forming and caused me to have break outs worse then before.

This product was really good for treating big, red and inflamed pimples. It reduced the swelling withing a few hours of applying it to the infected site. However it has really made my face break out since it doesn't seem to be preventing my break outs from occurring. I only applied it once a day like the doctor said and it caused itchy dry patches on my face (which I know is common with these acne topical treatments). In my opinion it isn't worth the money.

Pros:

Got the rebate card, cleared skin a bit. No itching, flaking, drying, or redness.

Cons:

Have not used it long enough, made me breakout, oily skin throughout the day, gel smells

I have not used ziana enough to really see the full results, I just hope that I am not using this for nothing. It has been exactly 5 weeks. I dont think I will judge it entirely until I have reached 8 weeks of treatment. I am using this at night with a benzoyl peroxide gel in the morning.

Pros:

It works Great! I've suffered from acne for 7 years and this product REALLY works! My skin feels much smoother, and I've noticed a drastic improvement in only two weeks.

Cons:

It is expensive, however it's worth it. It also tends to make my skin very oily and I now have little bumps on my forehead which I'm sure will go away soon.

I stilll break out with occaisonal small pimpes, but I plan to stick with the regime and I'm sure I'll start seeing even better results considering it takes at least 8 weeks for full results.

Pros:

This product has cleared my acne pretty much completely. I was amazed by how smooth it has made my skin. It takes time, but trust me, stick with it, you won't regret it.

Cons:

I didn't experience ANY dryness or any of the side effects but it almost seems as if just Ziana for me has reached it's peak. I am now starting doxycycline and hoping that in addition to Ziana will take it away.

I tried everything and I even went to a different dermotologist before. This is the best product I have ever used. Yes, it's a little sticky, but it truly gets the job done. It clears acne or at least gets away a lot of it so it is more bareable than it was before. Stick with it =) Trust me! Also, you can get a savings card from your dermotologist to save you even more money on the product!

Pros:

While I have little to moderate acne (I'm female), I do suffer from Acne Cysts. This is the ONLY product that has ever cleared them up QUICKLY and with NO SCARRING.

Cons:

During the time that it is eliminating the cysts, it does dry out the skin where the acne is and the skin peels off in layers. Can be a little itchy.

If you don't know about Acne Cysts, thank your lucky stars. They are groups of blackheads that fuse together under the skin and form one HUGE and Painful Puss-filled zit UNDER the skin. No whitehead ever forms, and even the derm can't really help. Alot of times they have to do a minimal surgery to extract the toxic puss out of the cyst. Mine would last for months sometimes, and would leave scars and be extremely embarrassing. This product is the ONLY product I have ever used that actually clears and ELIMINATES my cysts. And whats more, it eliminates in a week or LESS!! I couldn't believe it the first time I used it! It was not painful, it absorbed right into my skin so there was no greasiness, and I can wear moisturizer and makeup over it. It does dry out the skin where you put it on, but this peels itself off in layers over the days you use it. It can be a little itchy the first 2-3 days, but not after that(for me). I don't use it all the time, just when I get a cyst.

Pros:

Made my face a bit less oily throughout the day

Cons:

Made my skin red, dried it out badly, broke me out

I've been patient using this topic retinoid since its the first one I've ever used. However, after patience for almost 2 months my skin has no improved and still gets dries even after copious amounts of moisturizer. I only rated it high for affordability because my dermatologist gave me a huge bag of samples, I'm happy I didnt pay for this crap.
