Pros:

Clears up pimples and cystic acne

Cons:

Bleaches like any benzoyl peroxide, might aggravate scars, can be drying

Duac has worked wonderfully for me. I use it at night (bleaching a few pillowcases) and yes it can dry out the skin but nothing too serious. Duac cleared up some of my cystic acne around the mouth and jawline, it also works well at drying up whiteheads. I would recommend it to anyone, but only with medical insurance as it can be quite pricey without. Good luck.

Pros:

Clears up the acne, controls oil

Cons:

it does dry out your skin, will bleach anything it comes in contact with, it is pricey

I've been using Benzaclin for 5 years. I tried all kinds of over the counter cleaners, creams, and toners and this was the only thing that consistently worked. I love it, it is quite expensive if you don't have insurance, but on the other hand it is worth it.

Pros:

Works ok

Cons:

Addiction; I got off of it for a month acne came back worse than before. Price; who has $200 to spend on an ounce of cream?

Only if you're made of money

Pros:

Inexpensive, apply once a day, clear application,

Cons:

takes a while to see results

Derm perscribed me this in addition to doxycycline. I have been on it for 5 days now, and although my acne isn't gone, I can see an improvement I was waking up every morning with a new pimple and now haven't had any new ones in a couple weeks (before this week I was applying benzoyl heavily everyday) I had quit my birth control about 4 months ago and the derm said because i stopped my bc it started giving me acne!! Now I am back on bc in addition to these products. Hopefully I will be clear in a month.

Pros:

Keeps working for me after four years

Cons:

Bleaches clothes

I must be very lucky to not have any real side effects from using duac. It always works for me. Sometimes it takes longer than others to remove acne, but it always gets the job done. I guess after four years, you just need to know what works for you. Always wash your face with some kind of exfoliator that will clean your pores first - that has helped me a lot so I don't even have to use duac every night! I'd say a single tube normally lasts me 6 months, so it's not been outrageously expensive. I use a lot too, so I'm curious as to how the other people found this so expensive. Anyway, bottom line - It works wonders for me. I don't know why more people don't use it. But if it doesn't work for you, there's a ton of other products out there!

Pros:

This product worked very well for me. I have tried everything from OTC's to ProActive. NOTHING worked to this magnitude, except Clindoxyl. But this one is covered by my insurance.

Cons:

It made my skin sensitive to light [photosensitivity]. I do go tanning in the winter months. But as my pharmacist recommended just to wear sunscreen; my face was fine.

This product really works. It is better to get a prescribed medication rather than using an OTC [over the counter] because the levels of benzyl peroxide will not be enough to treat moderate to severe acne. The only thing is that it can be expensive without insurance. I never thought that I would have clear skin, but it is possible. This product delivers everything that ProActive promises! Try It.

Pros:

It is the only thing that keeps my skin almost completely clear. I also take doxycycline twice a day. I had stopped using duac before and used other products instead with the doxycycline( clearasil, fugera, differin, proactive..they don't work.

Cons:

VERY EXPENSIVE!!!!! $140 dollars/month. and the tube is not very big.

It works! In my opinion the price is definately worth it. I am now twenty one and had suffered from mild to severe acne for 7 years. The expensive price is worth how great you'll feel about yourself. Hang in there, it's tough, acne is a devestating thing to suffer from. It affects all aspects of your life. But Duac worked for me :)

Pros:

Works great, heals almost all acne overnight!

I'd go weeks without acne then suddenly get lots of acne in various parts of my face, especially the cheeks and forehead. It was horrible but once I got Duac, I'd just apply it liberally before going to bed and wake up with much of it gone. The bigger spots would take more than just a day but nothing lasted more than a few days with Duac applied just once a night. It did dry out the skin a little but nothing severe, just shower and use moisturizer during the day and you cant even tell.

Pros:

For the first month of its use it felt as if its doing wonders. But like most of other treatments it ended up in tears.

Cons:

It has this bleach effect which would turn your pillow covers & towels yellow.

It seems to be a good topical treatment for someone having mild to moderate acne. But for someone like me who has got this problem for years, it turned out to be a flop after a month.
