Pros:

It cleared up my face, and the clindamycin in the product helps reduce redness. So on the occasion that I DO have acne there is no redness in the spots.

Cons:

For the first couple weeks, it will dry and irritate the skin. And it's very expensive.

Even though it's very expensive, it does work for clearing up the skin.

Cons:

-badly dries out skin

Did not work for me at all. Possibly made it worse

Pros:

It works.

I started getting oily skin & acne 2 yrs ago when I was 11 (ugh), very embarrassing 4 the only 1 in my school with skin probs. This stuff cleared my stubborn under-the-skin bumps and gross blackheads that nothing else got rid of.

Cons:

Makes my skin dry, flaky, red, itchy, with tight, burning feel.

Cleansing with Dove helps me with dryness, and Neutrogena oil-free moisturizer helps also. I am going to try Aveeno ultra-calming instead though b/c of redness.

Putting up with the dryness is worth having clearer skin. Ask your Dr. for some, it might work great 4u like it did 4me!!! Warning: YOU HAVE TO USE A OIL-FREE SUNSCREEN OR MOISTURIZER WITH SPF. But 4 summer, I might try leaving off the Benzaclin during the day once in a while (but keep using at night) so I can get some tan on my face. Sometimes I also dab on some of my leftover Proactiv mask as a spot treatment, since I still get a few spots every month from hormones (but nothing like what was going on b4).

Pros:

Really clears up acne quite quickly. I used to have a lot of big red bumps, but now I just have few very small blemishes on my cheeks. However I use this stuff in conjunction with ProActiv

Cons:

Makes my skin VERY dry and scaly, especially across the cheeks. This can be fixed by a moisturizer, I esp. recommend Clinique's Dramatically Different Moisturizing Gel.

I use this stuff almost every night. It's really great, I recommend it. The dryness is fairly intense but my skin acclimated itself after about two weeks. It really clears up acne, but you'll need a few other products as well (a very good moisturizer, a cleanser, a scrub, a mask, a toner, etc. - or at least, that's what I do. You need to keep cleaning your skin the way you would, you can't just rely on BenzaClin. When I used it without any other products except for a gentle cleanser, although it cleared up my skin right away, my pores were still large and my skin felt rough).

Pros:

I am 37 and have had cystic acne since I was a kid. Duac works better on me than anything I have tried, including 2 stints of Accutane. I did not know about it until a few months ago, and I am very pleased.

Cons:

Very drying, a bit itchy. Once my skin got a good deal better, I switched to using it every 2 or 3 days, because of the dryness, and it still worked.

And for me - very expensive! Prescriptions are not covered by my insurance.

Very much worth the drying, and even the price.

Pros:

It works when the product is fresh, and clears up the face temporarily.

Cons:

Does not stop every problem spot, its stops 90% of it and then one or two will appear, also product expires fast.

Overall product is good, but does not fully fulfill what most think/say it will.

Pros:

this stuff WORKS! used all kinds of washes and rinses and differin, no dice. benzaclin makes a clear difference if used regularly, not just on spot treatments but all over wherever you break out (my jawline personally)

Cons:

drying, creates flaky/red areas, just use aveeno ultra-calming face wash, should help. moisturize as needed. still have occasional breakouts, derm says thats to be expected, ugh

definitely get it even though its pricey and dries out your skin. here's a good tip - apply it with q-tips, not fingertips. even clean fingertips can carry microscopic bacteria that worsens your spots. just rub it in with the q-tip and use a white pillowcase.

Pros:

excellent at clearing up skin quickly

Cons:

recently learned that benzoyl peroxide becomes a free radical in the skin which promotes premature aging

I have tried every prescription medication for acne available with an exception of Accutane and found this to be the best. It has kept my skin relatively clear for about 7 years. Whenever I think I've probably outgrown my acne, I discontinue Benzaclin only to discover that within a few days, my acne returns. However, for the past couple of months, my skin seems to have finally stopped responding. Then upon learning that while I've been thinking I've been taking excellent care of my skin by keeping it clear, wearing sunscreen, and wearing mineral makeup, that I am actually subjecting my skin to free radicals when I apply Benzaclin. How discouraging! I've always taunted my friends for continuing to go to tanning beds, and I have been causing unnecessary damage to my skin without even realizing it! So please reconsider your regimen if it includes benzoyl peroxide if you can obtain similar results with another medication.

Pros:

Does Clear acne fairly quickly

Cons:

over use and prolonged use can make skin very sensitive and irritated.

I have used benzaclin for 6 years now. My biggest thing is do not ever go tanning with it on. I went tanning with benzaclin on for like three years and my face was clear and tan but then after those few years my face doesn't tan anymore it scars more easily, and i have to use benzaclin in very small amounts or my face will be bright red and itchy. So don't tan it tells you not to but i was just stupid and did anyway. Seriously though benzaclin is the only thing that has ever worked for my face so do try it! GOOD LUCK!

Pros:

it did get rid of some of my pimples

Cons:

it dries up my skin really bad

my dermatologist gave me this as a prescription medication for my acne which was last saturday. I paid her about an estimate of $40.00 as a total for the duac and the soap and the check-up. After 2 weeks of use im gonna meet her and then she will give me new prescriptions if the duac doesn't work and would give me a free facial. Wow!!! but after these few days i really have an improvement on my face and i love it. It was a bit pricey but it was worth the cash.
