Pros:

Gets rid of acne.

Cons:

Leaves skin feeling dry after a few days, even when using a moisturizer.

HORRIBLE for sensitive skin.

If you have sensitive skin, I'd advise you NOT to try this as it will burn and make you look as if you've been bathing in the sun for 24 hours. Otherwise, it works very well.

Pros:

Clears acne with time

Cons:

Causes major redness
Causes very dry skin

This is not an over night solution. After about a month of use my zits started to go away but the side effects are not worth it. They zits might have gone my skin was left looking like a tomato. When I would get out of the shower my skin would crack from the dryness even if I had been using moisturizer. The other night I tried to use it as spot treatment. The next morning I woke up the zits were not gone and I had red blotches all over my face. So even if the zits are gone the redness and dryness leaves your skin looking horrible - not worth it.

Pros:

Easy to use

Cons:

Drying, irritating (itches), didn't improve acne (it worsened), inflammation associated with use

I started using this medication after I was successfully clear for nearly a year with minocycline and was prescribed this by my family practice doctor. I am a teenager so maybe my hormones affected my skin but within 2 weeks my face flared up with new red and peeling acne that was quite painful. After applying the medication for 4 weeks total, it only further exacerbated the acne. Never again...

Pros:

Keeps spots at the same level

Cons:

Takes a long time.
If you stop using it, you breakout the next day.
Dry's skin out.
Hardly reduces spots.
Bleaches hair and duvet.

I was prescribed this by a doctor and told me how to use it. I did exactly what they said and it doesn't reduce my spots, it just keeps them at the same level. If you stop using it, you breakout the next day. I am like the only one in my year group with spots and this girl who had literally one tiny spot which you could hardly see was prescribed this, so that shows they prescribe it to anyone whether they have a lot of acne or not.

Pros:

Pimples less severe if any at all
Reduces redness and scarring

Cons:

Gets a little worse before it gets better...much better though!

I'm 39 and still get quite severe acne around my chin. It's hideous and completely embarassing. I'd been using Differin before the birth of my second child, but had to stop as you can't use it whilst pregnant. Not that I needed it though as my skin totally cleared up whilst I was pregnant...must have settled all those hormones!! I only use Differin at night in combination with Eyracne and it works!! The only other treatment I found that worked other than Differn was the pill and as I don't want to take hormones just to control my acne, this has been the perfect solution. I find my acne is very hormonal and this this is a fabulous solution.

Pros:

Seemed to help my face the first couple months.

Cons:

Did not clear my acne. Expensive.

I tried this prescription for several months with a night cream called zianna(I think thats what it was called). Neither worked especially the night cream. This was a waste of time and money for me. It has been a year or so since I tried this and my face is still not clear but I don't think I am going to go back to a dermatologist because I have tried several of their treatments and they just don't seem to work.
