Duac : Clindamycin (1.2%) and Benzoyl Peroxide (5%) Gel

I tried Proactive and Differin. Both didn't work!! Benzaclin worked extremely well...however, one month ago my doctor had me switch to Differin. My face is breaking out like crazy without Benzaclin. I'm going to call him tomorrow to switch back to Benzaclin.

Its a very good product, better than most of the acne medicines that are available over the counter e.g. Freederm...(waste of money and time) No matter how oily your face is, you need to moisturise it after 15-20 mins of applying DUAC as it switches off your natural moisturiser tap (stops sebacious glands from producing oil)hence drying ur face. so put some cream on to stop it from drying and geeting wrinkly.

I don't mind that the product dried out my face because it does contain Benzoyl peroxide which breaks downs protein in the skin structure, and at the end of the day it breaks down white/blackheads and unblocks glands, I can only suggest you are using too much if you are getting rashes and redness my doctor explained a small pea amount is needed for your whole face. I found a small amount on each spot really helped dry them out. I had clumps of spots covering my forehead, nose, side of my face and chin a few days ago but they have all been cleared and dried out, usually the infection spreads and I get no end of spots.

My chin has been prone to acne for years, so my doctor but me on Lymecycline oral tablets and gave me Duac gel. I first applied the gel over my whole face, as my whole face gets very oily and wanted to dry it out abit. BIG MISTAKE, the next day my skin was red and look very strange under a certain light, i looked closer and could see tons of tiny raised bumps all over my face!!! My skin was also abit itchy. I read in the leaflet redness and itching is normal, so i decided just to use the gel on my chin where i get the acne. Altough my chin is red, its free from acne spots... but i am now very self conscious of these tiny bumps on my face. I first applied the gel on sunday, its now tuesday. I am goin to discontinue the treatment until my skin returns to normal. I think this prodcut is very strong and not good for mild acne. I paid around £7.00. Since I began using BenzaClin I have had no more acne. In the morning I apply it, message it in good, then apply my oil free moisturizer and makeup. No problem! At night I apply it before my nighttime moisturizer.

Have been using this on my 12 year olds face for 4 months and the results were quick and are still excellent. Just follow instructions. Face must be clean! Wash with an oil free soap and apply cream immediatly. On the odd occasion his face was not washed immediatly prior I could notice the differnce. In the morning moisturise with a brand that again is oil free

i got bad acne at 15 and had it bad till i was 17ish. i went on the pill and it cleared up completely after a few months. this summer i decided to risk going of the pill as it wasnt great for my body (big mistake) within weeks it had all flared up again. the doc perscribed duac and since ive been using it i have had no other spots forming, and the existing raised spots calmed down and have not flared up again. it took a few weeks to get there, but now my face is smooth and not raised like it used to.the only problem is the red marks im left with not pleasnt. advice for girls, invest in a really good cleanser, i know it maybe expensive and more than the acne treatment itself but a clean face with makeup complelty removed helps the process more quickly. i use an estee lauder one myself and it takes all m makeup of perfectly. remember it takes time, eventually it will go so be pateint

Bottom line with a No-Oil Moisturizer its hands down the best medication I have ever used. As my acne is in the crack of my lips...and Benzaclin is working to perfection.

During the summer I had 10 really big ones. Now I have 1 semi-big one and small ones. :) My doctor is really cool and gave me like 25 samples, so I don't really know how much it cost :). Very happy with results and I don't use it that often. If you have more severe cases, simply use something else.
