Pros:

Excellent Customer Service.
Well priced, especially for the amount of product. Gives TONS of freebies to share with friends.

Cons:

The scrub, which is their main product, didn't really clear up my acne alone. I found I still had to spot treat the few pimples I did get (and I mean few). This goes against their mantra, of not leaving product on your skin, but stubborn pimples do require it. This, for me is more prevention than treatment. BUT I LOVE THEIR SOAP!

The soap they send with your orders is wonderful. Due to some medications I take, my skin has become SUPER DRY. I use their soap as a bodywash as well....it lathers like a dream with a bath pouf, and seems to be very ph balanced for me...my skin is neither too try nor to oily. And to the person complaining about using a washcloth...I think that the washcloth is key...most products don't come off with just your hands, you have to use a washcloth. AND YOU HAVE TO USE A CLEAN WASHCLOTH EACH TIME!!! Seriously, this is no great hassle. You can buy a pack of 10 or 12 wash cloths for a few dollars. I keep a drawer in the bathroom just for washcloths, and I have hamper just for dirty washcloths. Then I wash them on HOT. The scrub for me isn't that important...for me the miracle has been the soap. I use the scrub only once or twice a week. I also use Bare Escentuals products along with my Carley's. I use the BE wash, which is actually a powder that becomes a wash when wet. I use this at night after removing my makeup (also Bare Escentuals -I've used other mineral makeup but prefer the new BE MATTE). I remove my makeup first with the Neutragena premoisted towlette things in the blue tub. These remove makeup but leave a residue. Then I use a small amount of the Carley's bar soap, then use the BE wash, rinse with cold water, pat dry. Then I use Bare Minerals lotion if my face feels dry..if not so dry I use Carley's Anti-Aging healing moisturizer. This stuff rocks, but is pricey. I spot treat any small spots with either sal acid or a small amount of BP, depending on severity of the pimple, I spot treat only when needed and only ONCE, I've found that's all that is needed. The pimple will heal on its own. Repeatedly applying that stuff just dries your skin out. If I can pop the zit, I will. (But it has to be truly poppable, otherwise hands off. I can't help it, I just find that it doesn't heal until you pop. Then treat w/ small amt of B

Pros:

All natural, did not irritate my skin, exfoliated well

Cons:

Did not improve my acne very much if at all, i think i got more clogged pores because of this

I have tried so many different things it would be impossible to list them all..and im only 15. Some things have cleared up my skin, but not completely, so i will switch to something else..breaking me out again and starting my search again. This product though did not work all that well for me. I used about 3/4 of the bottle with barely any results. This could be because of all of the other products i have used.. but idk. I do think it is worth a shot for you since so many people have had success. Oh and take note i am a teen but didnt use the teen formula..maybe that is why.

Pros:

All natural - the first product that has WORKED for me (in 40 years)! Reasonably priced, great service, nice to get the 'soap' with the 'cleanser'.

Cons:

Cleanser stains the face cloth (if you don't use white...included in the instructions). Wish they sold travel sizes

I was desperately searching for something to solve my near cystic acne problem before I got married and found this on eBay - read the product reviews and took a chance. (I have tried alot of other things). I have now been using this product for 4 years and LOVE it! Great advice that worked for me - use a clean cloth everyday with this product and use mineral based make up products only. Wouldn't use anything else now.

Pros:

Highly Effective
Very Easy (no hassle really)
Once a day use
Very natural ingredients
Nice, smooth feeling after use
Large Bottle, comes with free soap bar and sample moisturizers

Cons:

It's a scrub
Contains BP
Contains other (supposedly) harmful ingredients which some folk say can damage the skin
Only online

I am 23 yo, and male. I have trialed this Carley's treatment on a few separate occasions over the past couple of years. Each time it has nicely cleared me up. It is not like a prescription or an antibiotic (both of which I've used in the past) that artificially clears your skin completely, it seems to work very naturally in creating softer, clearer, and even slightly less oily skin. On my first trial it took about two weeks before I noticed the results and then my skin was pretty much clear from there on out. When I use it I don't "scrub" with it. I gently move it around on my face and rinse it off within a minute. It is just once a day, and in the shower works nicely. You may find that moisturizing is necessary as it does contain BP, so using it at night followed by moisturizer works well. Be consistent, be patient, and you will get results. I am currently trying to wean myself off of it simply because I've been moving towards an even more natural approach of not washing my face regularly and not relying on any particular treatment, in hopes that my skin will learn to somewhat care for itself. The other times I quit Carley's was simply out of unwarranted impatience. My skin would at times get break outs, which I now know were probably the result of my diet and lifestyle (excessive alcohol, smoking, lack of fruits/veggies, lack of sleep, stress etc.), so I would ignorantly stop using Carley's. However, every time my skin has developed difficult acne, for extended periods, I've gone back to Carley's and it has cleared me up. The magic of Carley's is its simplicity and its lack of irritation. 2.5 BP is in the scrub so you can just use it during your shower, you don't have to sit and rub cream into your face afterwards. It does seem to require fairly regular use, but missing one day, if your face does initially get irritated, won't hurt you. I am always very careful and gentle with it, and it has always been effective and c

Pros:

a note from the Carley's Clear & smooth.
since this is a .org site we appreciate an opportunity to respond.

Cons:

none

we understand that nothing works for everyone. we also know that we have competitors who love to trash our product pretending to be buyers. any product on the internet is subject to fake reviews. good or bad. but if this product is a fake how do you explain the 30,000 99.9% positive reviews on ebay? those reviews have to match up to a sale. every feedback HAS to be from a real buyer. so no one can post fake good or bad reviews. so why doesn't this work on everyone? some people have used stay on the skin ointments for years(many well over 10 years). day and night constantly. they have so damaged their skin with these harsh chemicals that no product is going to help them. at least not right away. in fact go back in history and you will find adult acne is only a recent occurrence. right about the time (30 years ago) that benzoyl peroxide was introduced as a stay on the skin ointment. before then acne was just about only a teen issue. today millions of adults suffer. in our opinion, acids and benzoyl peroxide should never be left on the skin for extended periods of time. they damage the natural balance of the skin. if we can get you in time we can usually help you. but if you are using a 10% benzoyl peroxide wash and a salycic acid or BP ointment constantly for a long time, likely you are seeing less and less results. eventually you could lay that stuff on an inch thick and you're still going to be dealing with acne the rest of your life. the big acne companies are destroying your skin.

Pros:

It got rid of my insanely painful cystic acne
Great customer service, super fast!
It is the only thing that has ever worked for me
Pretty inexpensive when compared to other brands that cost over $60 and don't work
Skin is waaaaay smoother

Cons:

That I didn't find out about it sooner

I had moderately severe acne and found Carley's. Within 6 months my face looked amazing and everyone complimented me. For some stupid reason, I figured my face looked better so I didn't need to use it anymore. I was so wrong! My face was back to horrible in no time. I will never stray again, and I don't know what I would do if they stopped making it. It is really embarrassing to be 26 and have the face of a 13 year old. My face is not completely clear yet, but it is well on it's way. I used to be embarrassed for anyone to see me without make up. Now I'm a little less afraid, and don't rush to put on my make up in the morning in fear someone will drop by. Even though I'm an adult I use the Kick ass formula for teens because my acne was so bad. I had really painful cystic acne that would not go away for months it seems. No acne treatment works for everyone, so ignore the really bad reviews that seem to be popping up on this site. I am sooo happy to have found this product.

Pros:

everything. and im getting sick of reading people saying that this product is fake and all the good reviews are fake. im not fake. im real. i had acne for 12 years and its gone now. you have no idea what i went through. im 28 years old and finally am comfortable with the skin on my face. im going to freak out if people say that the good reviews for carleys is fake. carleys saved my skin and i will be a customer of theirs forever and im sorry for you if you think chemicals on your face will help

Cons:

can take up to 3 months to see results but why is that a con? anyone who truly has acne and has suffered with acne for over a decade would be willing to suffer for 3 months knowing that there is a light at the end of the tunnel. be patient. simple as that. nobody is patient anymore because everyone wants MORE MORE MORE NOW NOW NOW. well guess what? be patient and be gentle to your skin and you will have amazing results.

i will be a carleys customer for the rest of my life.

Pros:

Carley's never left my skin dry or inflamed like other products have. And it works beautifully! It not only found a solution for my acne but makes the rest of my complexion absolutely flawless. Ordering is a cinch and delivery is quick and reliable.

Cons:

It does bleach washcloths, but let's be real, how important is that if it gives you clear skin?

I can't get enough of this product, and that's something special to me--I've tried twelve prescriptions, tons of painful light and acid peel treatments, "natural" spa procedures, and absolutely every acne product sold in stores. Seriously, name a brand and I can tell you I've tried it. But even after all of the time and money (oh goodness, all the money...) spent, I was just left with "okay" skin, never 100% clear. I taught myself to accept that I wouldn't have great skin. I became dependent on heavy makeup just to leave the house, which caused me to feel masked and honestly embarrassed. I confessed to a sorority sister how I envied her clear skin; in high school she and I had similar sufferings with awful acne, but in a matter of months her face was flawless, literally flawless. I asked her if she knew where I could buy Pro***** (I had already used it twice, but what the heck, I thought I'd try it again), but instead she gushed, "No! Try Carley's!" and just like that I was hooked. Within weeks my face was clear, I was wearing less makeup, and my confidence skyrocketed. Now we have our whole sorority's chapter using Carley's and we can't get enough! What a blessing this product has been for me and my friends. I would recommend it to anyone!

Pros:

Cheap, Good customer service

Cons:

Destroyed my face, deep scarring, cystic acne with multiple whiteheads forming every day, one on top of the other! Red marks that will take a long time to go away...

Like many other reviews I stuck with this product for about six weeks. After seeing my chin and upper lip explode in horrendous cysts, countless dozens of white bumps, and red marks I decided to give up. At this point I have honestly given up ALL acne treatments as my skin is so damaged at this point I think doing nothing couldn't make it much worse. If you do try this, which I do not recommend, I say DON'T be patient. If you notice an extreme reaction, as I did within the first week, STOP. Yes, sometimes skin reacts to new treatments, but I have never used a product (and I have used many) that has caused so much of a bad effect. If it works for you, great. I think there are better options for a BP topical.

Pros:

WORKS! give it time and hopefully it will work for you too. Easy to use, cheap, and quality ingredients, not full of harsh chemicals. Love the moisterizing cream!

Cons:

cleanser can bleach fabrics like many acne products, kind of a pain in the butt routine when you are feeling lazy, bar soap dried my skin out a little at first.

I have been suffering from moderately severe cystic acne for the last 10 yrs without any really successful treatments. I went to a new derm in 12/09 and he made me feel the worst anyone ever has about my skin. Part of the problem was he said the only hope I had was accutane. I was determined to prove him wrong and stumbled on Carley's in a search, with nothing to lose I ordered it. It help clear up my skin some within the 1st few weeks but not amazingly. I figured I would use up what I had bought and move on. After about 3 months I am mostly clear! I still have a few breakouts but not the painful cystic ones and not enough to change products again. I'm finally happy with my skin!
