Pros:

very gentle, non-irritating, doesn't dry out skin, makes skin look healthier and soft, reduces redness

Cons:

the smell was bad the first few times, but didn't take long to get used to it

I'm using the blemish prone fragrance free one (purple label) and it's only been 3 days. I think from using so many different products before this (ivory bar soap, dove bar soap, cetaphil, arbonne, proactiv, st.ives apricot scrub, even antibiotics -minocycline) my skin needs a lot of repair work! especially after using the apricot scrub which destroyed my skin to what I thought would never be repaired again. so far I've noticed a decrease in redness, swelling and my skin overall feels lighter and healthier. even the pimples that were so deep in my skin for weeks finally came to the surface which to me is a good thing! it says to me that this cleanser actually cleans out the impurities!! a lot of people have been saying that it doesn't wash away makeup but I've had no issues with that. I just use an extra squirt of the cleanser and spend a few extra minutes rubbing it in and my face comes out free of makeup. I'm very hopeful that this product will work for me....the key is to keep using it. I'm the type of person that if I don't see results immediately, I switch products which in hindsight only makes the acne worse. try it...it won't hurt!

Pros:

- non-irritating
- fragrance free
- ph balancers (even out both dry and oily patches)

Cons:

NONE

i've jumbled around with tons of facial cleansers...stuck onto pure glycerin soap for a while, but my boyfriend introduced me to this stuff, and it works WONDERS. using both the cleanser and moisturizer twice a day has reduced pimples popping up from maybe 5 times a week, to 1 or even none. (ps: make sure you buy the purple one [fragrance free])

Pros:

very gentle
scent free
affordable
easy to find (in Canada)
lasts
can get in large quantity from Price Club

Cons:

Doesn't foam, but not a big deal.

I've tried many other cleansers - most recently Neutrogena extra gentle cleanser and it wasn't near as good as Spectro Jel. Love it.

Pros:

Dries up pimples
Doesn't dry out skin
Keeps skin looking even
Skin glows

Cons:

The smell is sort of odd, but I kind of like it

I've tried everything! Proactive made my skin clear but super dry, then I started breaking out again. Murad gave me huge pimples. Cetaphil just doesn't work as well. Clean & Clear doesn't really work. Neither does Neutrogena... I started using this five days ago and all my pimples are healing... instead of being these huge red things on my face that I'd have to cover with loads of makeup, I feel confident walking around make-up free. I use my St Ives exfoliater first, then I used Spectro Jel... Decleor toner, Proactive acne cream (at night) and Clean and Clear Medicated Moisturizer... it seems to be working for now.

Pros:

- Light, non-greasy cleanser.
- Didn't dry out my skin, which was a major concern seeing how I have dry skin to begin with.
- Gentle enough to use on a daily basis.
- No artificial fragrances added, which was also a concern since my skin is so sensitive.

Cons:

- The price was a little higher compared to other cleansers (Clean & Clear, Bioré, etc.), but you usually get what you pay for.

A good product that I would recommend! I've struggled with acne since I've been about twelve years old. I've been through countless medications and cleansers, and by far found this one worked the best for me. I've been using it now for about three years, along with my exfoliant (St. Ives Apricot scrub) which I use 2-3 times a week. My skin has never been better! :)

Pros:

keeps skin extremely soft
gets rid of acne
makes skin glow

Cons:

none

Everything else I used made my skin extremely flaky and dry. After one month of usage, my acne went from moderate to COMPLETELY gone. I will never use anything else but this.

Pros:

LOVE THIS! I started using this about three years ago, and everytime I try something else I always come back to this because everything else it too drying! If you look at the ingredients, they are all non irritating and there are no unnecessary extra ingredients like fragrance or exotic sounding plant extracts that really do very little. I find it works best if you splash your face with water, pat it so it is just damp then gently rub the cleanser in circular motions for 30 sec to 1 minute.

Cons:

For us gals who use foundation: it is not a strong enough cleanser to remove makeup. Unfortunately, cleansers which effectively remove makeup are also quite harsh (in my experiences). I am one of those people who will NOT leave the house without foundation, so what I do is use a bit of Neutrogena's Makeup Removing Cleansing Lotion (also a gentle product) and wipe off with a tissue before using Spectro.

The bottom line is, the pros without a doubt outweigh the con of not being a makeup remover. It is excellent at cleansing "naked" skin while maintaining the moisture in the stratum corneum (top layer of skin). Oh, I use the stuff with the purple label for sensitive and blemish prone skin.

Pros:

I have used Spectro jel for over 13 years now. I live in LA and I get my family members to bring some every time they come to visit. I have never experienced bad acne, but I only have mild breakouts when I run out of Spector jel, so it works for me...and I always get compliments on my skin

Cons:

None

Awesome product
