Pros:

Smells good, vegan, not tested on animals, fairtrade, organic etc. AND: STOPPED MY BACKNE!

Cons:

A little strong, but can be dilluted!

This is by far the best product I have tried for my backne. I have used it for a week in combo with Sudocreme every now and then, and the results are amazing. Acne is clearing up, scars are less visible. I am so happy as i have struggled with backne for years, and really have dreaded getting undressed. Now, it is not at all a problem, apart from some scars that will fade. I recommend this to everybody who wants to get rid of backne. And it also is a good soap overall! Today i am even tying it out as a deodorant! :-)

Pros:

-helped clear up backacne A LOT
-reduced "belt rashes" due to an allergy of nickel
-not overdrying
-skin feels smooth and soft

Cons:

I can't think of any.

I've been using this soap as a body cleanser, I'm a little hesitant to try it as a facial cleanser. But I will, because of all of the good reviews.

Pros:

cost-efficient, vegan and organic, plain and simple, fair-trade ingredients, does not irritate acne or sensitive skin, cleans face/body without exposure to chemicals/dyes/perfumes/foaming agents, is versatile enough to use on hair/face/body/mouth/hands

Cons:

Peppermint scent can leave skin a bit tingly..

This is my numer one favorite product, ever, period. Just a few drops in a washcloth is enough to cover your whole body in rich lather that cleanses and invigorates the skin. It keeps the excess oil off of the face, and leaves you feeing wholesome , not slick and slimy or chemically treated like other "soaps." Dr. Bronners is well worth the money and everybody should own a bottle. My favorite scent is almond.

Pros:

The 16 oz. bottle lasted me for an entire year, very affordable and cleared my skin

Cons:

mildly drying

This soap was recommended to me by a friend who had adult acne which was cured using this soap. I highly recommend the Peppermint variety since the mint has anti-fungal properties which reduced inflammation. If you're skeptical, try buying the travel sized versions which will only cost a few bucks, but I guarantee you will come back and get a larger size later.

Pros:

natural, smells nice, feels good

Cons:

didn't really work for my acne...

the first few weeks of using dr. bronner's and tea tree oil (i wanted to go all natural) were great! i thought i could see a reduction in my pimples. now, after a few months, it's like i'm back at square one. i'm still getting giant, painful under-the-skin pimples that decide to turn into whiteheads (pustules) at inopportune times, not to mention random whiteheads popping up. this is so frustrating. i wanted it to work, and i believed it would; it just didn't... i'm still using it though. i mean, what the heck else can i do?

Pros:

It doesn't dry out my skin or worsen my acne. It leaves my skin feeling soft and clean. Zaps up all the oil without leaving my face tight.

Cons:

The peppermint is a bit much for my face's sensitive skin but the lavender is just right.

Absolutely amazing. I've been using this soap, coupled with a lavender oil lotion and my face is ridiculously clear. I have been battling with cystic acne since I was 12 and I'm now 27. I've tried every over the counter and saw a dermatologist for 5 years (a slew of pills, peels and lotions). I've modified my diet and guzzled gallons of water. I was convinced I would need prescription acne lotions and would have to deal with these painful embarrassing red pustules for life. Until I found this soap. I had months of cysts on my face and in a little than two weeks they were gone. I finally wake up with soft clear skin. I use it with Avalon Organic Lavender face lotion that can be found at Stop N Shop or Walmart. FINALLY I can throw all my benzoyl peroxide and clindamycin OUT. A natural lifesaver I am proud to brag about.

Pros:

Cleans better than anything else IMO
Smells great/clean and smooths skin
Helps prevent acne

Cons:

Can dry skin just a little, but nothing that a good moisturizer can't solve.
A bit pricey compared to typical soaps/body washes and may be hard to find.
Scented varieties may slightly irritate sensitive skin

Dr. Bronner's is the best soap by far IMO. I use the Peppermint scent to wash my body. The tingly peppermint sensation really helps you start your day. Watch out though, the Peppermint can almost burn your sensitive southern parts if you leave it on there too much, nothing serious though. If you use Dr. Bronner's to wash your face I HIGHLY recommend buying the Baby/Sensitive skin variety. The Peppermint kind can slightly irritate sensitive facial skin (it would make my face red and eyes burn from the scent). It has no added fragrance so no irritation. Plus it makes your skin really smooth and clean. For my acne problems I just use the Unscented Dr. Bronners to wash my face morning and night and a topical Benzoyl Peroxide cream. Works like a charm. My skin has never been smoother or cleaner.

Pros:

Incredibly versatile, natural, healthy for skin, smells and feels nice, is a company I feel good supporting, cleans effectively.

Cons:

Can be drying.

I am a huge fan of these soaps. I have Peppermint, and use it for everything. We're pals. I feel like they clean much more deeply than the more heavily marketed washes. I really appreciate that they don't have BP and other nasty chemicals, because while I'm not a complete cynic, they've just never worked for me and I don't see the need to risk aging and other skin issues for no benefit. The company itself is great, I love that they're not advertised and the people are still passionate about the (free trade!) product. It definitely does help keep me clearer than the biore and proactiv cleansers I sometimes use when I don't appreciate Dr. B's enough, and I attribute that to the really deep clean I feel like I get. I wouldn't expect it to be a magic bullet cure, but I don't think a cleaner should be that. It is what it is, a great, effective cleanser, so I wouldn't get it confused with masks and treatments.
