Best lotion for all skin types
I've been using this product for the past few months & must say it is God sent! Started using it when I was breaking out to the extent that my skin was irritated all the time, despite using the most expensive products in the market. Regular use helped get rid of all sorts of skin problems. Pros- perfect as a makeup primer, -reduced dark spots/acne scars considerably, -skin glows naturally & also reduces fine lines to a certain extent - irritation relieved instantly - inexpensive & available readily at all pharmacies. - helps treat acne in oily skin with great results Cons- dries out the skin a little so use in combination with a moisturizer for better results, - results improve with regular use over a period of time, not overnight but totally worth for the price & availability. Not to forget, great skin is back!!!

Hi there, you say it won't help overnight. How long did it take for you to see results in reducing dark spots and acne scars considerably?

Pros:

I wish I knew about this stuff sooner because it's fabulous! Makes skin feel really smooth, tightens pores & makes pimples go away faster than BP alone!

Cons:

None

I don't know how I came across people using this for acne but I started researching and figured I'd try it. There are absolutely no negative side effects to it. I use caladryl and it's clear. I use it in the morning, put it on w/ a cotton ball and then put my moisturizer & make up on. No peeling or anything, if it's peeling off you're using to much. I use it at night sometimes too. I had a huge pimple last week, I put caladryl on it a couple times a day along w/ BP and it came to a head and was gone in less than 48 hours! I use it on my chest too, which isn't that broken out but i don't want to use any type of BP on my chest since it bleaches clothes. <3 this stuff!

soooo good
It fades acne scars and cold sore scars and it dries out spots and pimples this is better than BP or all the other expensive trash they try to market to us. BP and other harsh treatments always left my skin red and damaged. Thank the heavens for giving us calamine, truly, I am so grateful to have such a gentle but effective treatment. Spots wont disappear over night but with patience and regular application at night they will gently dry up leaving no scars or marks -which is amazing as I usually pick or use BP and end up with horrible scars.

How long did it take for calamine to fade your scars?
May 2, 2015
Yes yes yes!!
This is great! I paid 2.50 for this and I can safely say it is one of the cheapest and most effective acne treatments I have bought. I apply this all over my face and chest after showering, and it has done wonders for all of my pimples! I'm guessing it's the zinc oxide, but this truly is great. It started to show results pretty quickly, and I recommend using it pretty consistently (every day if possible) for best results. I am able to spread it all around my face with a Q-tip, but that's because my skin has shown no signs of dryness or irritation with it. If you experience dryness please only use it as a spot treatment on the pimple. I've heard some people say it can be pretty drying. This may not work for everyone, because naturally we all have different skin, but for such a cheap price it definitely cannot hurt to try it.

Pros:

Effective, harmless, has real clay in it (Bentonite Magma- like the stuff at the spa).

It's ridiculously cheap- and works better than other products *cough*Neutrogena Acne Wash*cough* that I've tried.

Cons:

Kinda messy... and it's pink. Why is it pink?

Won't get rid of my dark spots, and those unwanted bumps do pop up occasionally. (However, I've found that a spot treatment with the lotion help minimize my acne bumps immediately.)

Wearing a pink mask really isn't that great of a fashion statement...

Takes a bit of time.

Definitely worth your time. Try it. I noticed that other experimenters had issues... don't leave the lotion on overnight! Bad, bad idea! You're clogging your pores even more! Here's what I did. Procedure: 1. Wash face with soap, dry thoroughly. 2. Apply thin, even layer over face. 3. Wait 15 minutes with your *lovely* pink (why did it have to be pink?) calamine lotion mask. Go read a book, kick your brother, whatever , just be patient! 4. Wash mask off with water and more soap. 5. Dry face. 6. Moisturize your face- unless you were using Dove soap. That already moisturizes for you. Do procedure twice a day- when you wake up, and right before you go to bed. Tips: DO NOT TOUCH YOUR FACE! It ruins all your efforts! I cannot stress this enough. Do NOT touch your face! Notice how NOT is all in capital letters! Be PATIENT. Patience is a virtue, good things come to those who wait, etc. etc. It'll take a few weeks before you notice a real difference. If you have a flare up, try spot treating each bump with the lotion. Just leave it on till it dries up and then wash it off.

Pros:

Evened skin tone
Reduced pore size
Reduced blackheads
Reduced whiteheads
Faded scars

Cons:

None

I have oily, fair skin with large pores and breakouts, mainly on my jawline. I have tried EVERYTHING for the last 15 years to clear my skin, I have never been so pleased with my skin now that I am using Calamine lotion. I bought the CVS brand Calamine lotion for $5.99 a week ago, I wash with Cerave foaming cleanser, apply the Calamine, let it sit for 10 minutes and then apply my Cerave moisture cream. The first day I noticed a huge reduction in redness and an overall more even tone. Each day after that my skin has greatly improved, my blackheads started coming out on their own when I wash my face, I no longer have any whiteheads anywhere on my face or jawline, my skin is clear and even (my face tone actually matches my neck tone again). It's very gentle and I have had no negative issues at all, it is the cheapest most effective product I have ever used in my battle for clear skin. All of my friends and family have noticed and have asked me what I started using to make my skin look so good. It's nice to look in the mirror and see smooth skin again. I highly recommend giving this a try, it's effective, cheap, and very easy to find!

Pros:

evens skin tone incredibly
shrinks pimples
makes face less oily
cheap

Cons:

can't wear it in public

It took a couple of consistent applications in a row to start working - at first it seemed like it was making the pimples bigger, but really it was just bringing them to the surface. After that, it was awesome. Very smooth. I put it on whenever I'm in the house by myself, one-two times a day. If you miss a day it doesn't kill you, but effects seem to fade after a few days. Highly recommended! Don't give up on it until you've applied it a few times.

Pros:

This stuff really works!! no joke!!

Cons:

kind of hard to take off

okay so like i've only used this stuff for about a week now and this stuff is simply AMAZING! i had red, irritated ugly cheeks with pimples on them and i decided to try this stuff out and im so glad i did I bought the CVS brand...haven't really tried any other brands (hopefully won't have to!) but yeah its great...like the pimples actually come to the surface and become smaller and smaller, its suppose to dry out the pimples and it seems like it actually works! It doesn't dry them out to a point where your skin is like peeling...thats what i love about this product...all the other products ive used like tretnoin cream REALLY peeled my skin and was waaaay to harsh! okay so my point is this stuff makes a visible improvement in your skin...ive only used it for like a week now and my acne isn't completely gone but its less visible and the ugly redness is gone!

Pros:

Available at local pharmacy-Walmart.
Generic works.
Under $2.00- Generic or under $5.00-brand
Easy to apply- use a flat make up cotton round)
I even wear it under makeup or alone and one can tell.
Doesn't sting or have a bad oder.
Starts to work as soon as it is applied.

Cons:

None-Why didn't I hear about this any sooner.

I have spent all kinds of money on OTC products that don't work...sting, smell, burn my face. Even hundreds on dermatology vists to try to fix my so called onset of adult acne. Dr's said it was caused by my also adult onset of food allergies/ hormones at 42...please! My face has always been clear for the most part, but, if I ate something that I was allergic to... I would break out with these huge... purple boil like sores on my chin and under the neck area. People..not kidding..it worked overnight, using the calamine lotion all over my face it worked to dry them out and within 3 days they were flat, at a week they were gone! Pores even look smaller and my face is not as oily as before! My husband has even noticed how soft my face is now...and he never noticed or had ever said anything before...Happy...! I love Calamine Lotion and the makers this product. Thank you to my sisters friend who used this product out of necessity on her son since this was all she had in medicine cabinet. Now, this young boy was what people would call pizza face...poor baby. He really suffered, but not anymore...as he too, is now totally clear and is not shy anymore =))))

Pros:

stops acne dead in its tracks and shrinks zits so fast! seriously the best thing i have ever tried!

Cons:

there really are none. some people say it is drying but because my skin is naturally a little oily it balances it out and if there is drying it is very minimal.

The bottom line is this stuff is the absolute best product i have ever used for acne. When i graduated highschool 7 yrs ago my acne went out of control, i had a few zits here and there but after that it was the worst it had ever been! over the last seven years as you can imagine i have tried EVERY product there is from 300 dollars systems to proactive to drugstore products and the nothing worked. i always felt like putting harsh chemicals on your skin was just wrong anyways and was determined to find another alternative. I don't know why but i decided to give calamine a try, it just made sense. and within days my skin started clearing up and now after two weeks of using it my skin has not been this clear since 10 yrs ago! this may not work for "everyone" but i am telling you to give this a try! i use it at night and during the day, i apply it all over my face and put an extra layer where a zit may be appearing. seriously take it from someone who knows the pain of acne and has tried it all. this stuff works! :)
