Pros:

cheap, fast, really effective

Cons:

can't wear it out of the house

So I don't have very bad acne, but every once and a while, without warning, I get these huge, painful, red cysts that literally take weeks to go away. And of COURSE one of them decided to pop up this weekend, just days away from my college graduation. Desperately seeking some kind of miracle, I started reading reviews on acne.org and somehow came across calamine lotion. I went out and bought it yesterday and wore it for a few hours before bed, then all night... This morning that huge cyst has almost completely gone down. The calamine has just totally dried it up. It's seriously amazing. It has left my skin pretty dry, but I would MUCH rather deal with having to moisturize the hell out of my skin for a few days than having all my graduation photos ruined by that massive cyst. This works WAY better than anything I've ever tried on a cyst (ice, heat, BP, SA...), and it's incredibly cheap.

Pros:

works quickly, isn't harsh on skin, can use with Dan's BP, easy to apply, not over-drying

Cons:

can only wear at night, needs to be reapplied often

I've fallen in love with Calamine lotion. I tend to take out my stress by attempting to "control" the acne on my face, which, I know now, usually takes the form of picking at my acne. Unfortunately, this left me with a swollen, bright red bump on my chin a few days ago. I already had three other scabs on my chin, and I was desperate for a solution. Fast forward two and a half days: after using calamine lotion on all these spots repeatedly (about three times per day, trying to at least leave it on for a couple hours each time), my scabs are completely gone (several of them I picked at AGAIN - this time following Dan's instructions, though), and I'm just left with some flat, red marks on my face. Not bad; I can easily cover them with makeup and they're invisible. Also, the calamine hasn't overly dried out my face!

Pros:

Although it doesn't mention anything about acne on it's labelling it does help dramatically with reducing pimples, scars and redness.

Cons:

Have been using it for a year or 2 already so it is good but don't expect all your pimples to disappear as it's consistently helpful but not great or anything. Dryness also occurs so moisturise!

It will help reduce redness and pimples in general. If you're not using it you're missing out!

Pros:

Use calamine lotion with B.P. 10% (mix it in palm of hand) & dab on let dry sleep with it on. It helps peel off open (picked at) pimples.
Dries up & decreases swelling

Cons:

Very drying / not a soft peel of skin

If you're a picker this can calm things down

Pros:

Gets rid of acne scarring i've been dealing with for 3 years!!,gets rid of whiteheads, blackheads, and pimples very quickly!! Safe to use while pregnant(I'm 3 months pregnant)

Cons:

Can be a little drying so use a good moisturizer!

Since getting pregnant with my first child my skin has never been the same! For 3 years now my face has not been 100% clear! I'm someone that will not even walk out the house if i have a bad outbreak so acne was controlling my life! I've tried every product on the Walmart shelves, went to a dermatologist, and nothing helped...i have been using calamine for only two days and WOW it has really helped!! I really break out in the middle of my cheeks and one whole side of my face is completely clear and the old stubborn scarring is just about gone! The right side of my face is still a little bumpy looking due to the fact i have four little pimples on my cheek but i'm sure after one more day my whole face will be 100% clear! I'm pregnant with my 2nd child so i'm looking forward to going out with clear skin this pregnancy thanks to calamine lotion!! I've read that some woman think its no safe to use during pregnancy my OBGYN said its 100% safe. I'm happy i found something that worked!

Pros:

This product slightly lightens all of my pimples and helps keep my skin dry. It has no side effects and is extremely cheap and widely available.

Cons:

Besides lightening it a bit, this did nothing for my acne. The lotion is extremely thin (more like a tonic than a lotion) and stains the skin with a temporary layer of pink. It's also difficult to wash off after applying.

If you have yet to find an acne solution, this is certainly worth a try. Calamine lotion is cheap and even if it doesn't do much for you, it may come in handy in your medicine cabinet if you ever need a natural anti-itch remedy from insect bites or poison ivy. You should always use some sort of cotton to apply the lotion, since it's so frustratingly thin. If you try to apply it with your hands, you will simply end up with pink-stained hands. This is best used overnight if you want to give it a try. Apply right before sleeping and remove in a morning shower to thoroughly clean your skin. If you don't shower in the morning, you probably wouldn't want to use this unless you want a pink-stained face. If you already have an effective working acne solution, you can safely ignore calamine lotion.

Pros:

It appears to have shrunen my pimple, and the redness has definately gone down!

Cons:

At the moment I'm not sure if it will get rid of my pimple

So i have this huge pimple on my forehead. I put some of this on yesterday, and it appears to be working. It immediatly soothed my skin, and i'm pretty sure the size of my pimples going down. I'm not sure if it will completely eliminate my pimple, but it really does seem to be helping me. I'm going to continue use and see what happens.

Pros:

Clears acne FAST and reduces redness by A LOT.

Cons:

Dries out skin but that's not a big problem!

I used calamine lotion last night on my acne. Now I only have acne around and between my eyebrows so i put it there because i had a bright red mark from a pimple that USED to be there and i woke up and that was GONE. all my acne was GONE. and i have sensitive skin so this should work for anyone! Try this because I am not wasting any of my time buying different products. Calamine lotion is the way to go!

Pros:

It reduces some of the redness and seems to work a little.

Cons:

it's pink, runny, and dries up and flakes. It looks really dumb when you have it on. It dried up my skin a lot and made it flake.

it's a cheap, quick, marginally effective acne product.
