Pros:

I found this site, slathered calamine on my nose, and washed it 30 minutes later. I now have, literally, HALF as many blackheads.
Cooling, soothing.

Cons:

Ugly as sin. Not too drying. Not suitable for continuous use because of color.

Why didn't anyone tell me about this in high school?! I have extraordinarily sensitive skin, and calamine lotion is meant to soothe and relieve irritation, unlike every other acne product on the market. It instantly sucks out blackheads, and already my cystic blemish feels calmed and is shrinking. After half an hour. A new staple in my daily skincare routine. The worst it can do is dry your skin a bit, and at best... I can't wait to find out.

Pros:

reduces pimple size redness and driess it out.

Cons:

if you use it wrong you wont get results!

So i had a breakout out of nowhere and had no clue what to do. So I started using calamine lotion and nothing happened. I had been applying it all over my face in big amounts. So i stopped using it. Then I decided to use it applying it with a cotton ball only to areas that needed it and the results have been fantastic! In just a day the change was huge. I have also been using it with hydrogen peroxide which I also apply with a cotton ball. I think when it comes to calamine less is more. At least for me (:

Pros:

Low cost, available at local drug store, easy to apply with cotton ball

Cons:

Pink chalky look after applying, so only use at night.

It helped my sons acne. We used it on the t-zone where he had breakouts. Calms the skin, reduces the red inflammed look of acne. My son is very happy about his appearance.

Pros:

dries up pimples and blackspots overnite.

Cons:

cannot apply during the day as it makes my face look ashy

Did not know about calamine lotion until my niece, kisha, got chicken pox and got a prescription for it. Worked wonders on her and I decided to use it on my acne spots as an experiment. I applied overnight and by morning all the huge pimples had dried up.After 15 years of acne problem here was such a simple cheap solution.

Pros:

Really cheap, reduces redness and swelling quickly

Cons:

none

Dont exactly have acne, but i have the occasional breakout, definately reduces redness and swelling! Completely clears up small spots within a day, really good stuff! So cheap too. The zinc in it helps heal skin i think. To get best use out of it i sometimes use it during the day when im not going out, and use it at night. I find putting a thick layer on and keep re applying helps!

Pros:

reduces redness, keep your skin oil-free, gives a cooling sensation, makes your pores unnoticeable, reduce itchy sensation

Cons:

leaves a layer of pink powder (but if you put on a thin layer with a cotton, it acts like a good foundation :)
dry a little bit

i am using tretinoin cream and it makes my skin so irritated and red. i put on a facial mask whenever i go out. it is so embarrassing!! reading the reviews and message board, i found that calamine lotion calms skin. i then did a research on the ingredients of calamine. Calamine lotion is a mixture of zinc oxide and ferric oxide. Zinc Oxide is an active ingredient of sunscreen and skin protector. i search the government database for the registered medicine accessible in HK. i found out that many calamine lotions contain "phenol", "menthol", "alcohol" ,which are skin irritants. there are three brandnames only that contains zinc oxide and calamine only... i washed my face and dry it with tissue. then, i put on the lotion with a cotton pad and spread it all over my face. The redness went away immediately :) it also absorb the oil instantly and constantly. there are many pigmentation on my face. the lotion conceals them all well!

Pros:

It works!!

Cons:

None, if applied correctly.

I've had acne for approx 3 yrs and, like virtually everyone I know who's had acne at some point, I've tried everything out there to clear it without success. Until I decided to use the calamine lotion I used on my daughters chicken pox on my face. I couldn't believe the difference it made. I no longer have the hard, sore lumps under my skin and if I do get a spot it only lasts a day. I use it morning and night after cleansing and toning and I apply it very thinly as it works just as well, if not better, than a thick layer as it still allows the skin to breathe. Also, applying thinly ensures you don't look like you're ready for hallow'een. I use it on cotton wool but I may try a make up sponge in future as it's probably easier to apply.

Pros:

Works really fast, faster than benzoyl p. Heals acne and your skin, takes away redness.

Cons:

None really can be a bit drying, but not as drying as when I use benzoyl. Just use a lil moisturizer and I'm good.

I've been using this for about a week and I kid u not i have not had a pimple since. I don't know what this stuff does but it healed my acne.

Pros:

Very inexpensive, no fragrance, does work well on cycstic Acne,

Cons:

A little drying, who cares, it works better than anything you can find on the market.

Try this people, I mean what is the worst that can happen? you are already dealing with acne. I paid only $3.39 for this stuff. Plain bottle, you name it. I was SO DESPERATE for a fix for my cystic acne, I would not leave the house without a good amount of make up on my face, and It look horrible. The acne only magnified itself. the scarring was unbeliveable. I brought this put it on one night. and in about 6 days my acne started clearing up EVEN THE SCARRING which I thought I was going to have to just live with, for a couple of years. I wet a makeup sponge and put a few drops on it, and spread it lightly on my cheeks, chin and forehead where the acne was its worst. THIS WORKS folks, I am so astonished how easy and well it works I can not believe my own eyes. I still wear a little makeup, only NOT AS MUCH anymore, because the scarring is fading, and I don't see any new bumps appearing. Try it, save some money. don't waste it on acne products that just make fake promises.
