Controls acne, but doesn't get rid of it completely

Pros:

gets acne in control
somewhat reduces new pimples from forming

Cons:

doesn't get rid of acne completely
dries face

When I was in Russia for two months, I did not take any acne treatments with me from the US, thinking that I will just buy something in Russia. I used proactive for like a year, and didn't take it with me to Russia. When I got to Russia, I literally could not find any benzoyl peroxide treatments in stores! All they had were washes and creams with salicylic acid. BUT, I went to a pharmacy, and they did have benzac ac 5%! It was the only benzoyl peroxide treatment I could find anywhere in Russia, so I had no choice but to buy it, because by that time, I had really bad breakouts and my acne was out of control after I stopped using all acne treatments (which were mostly proactiv, but I'm not saying proactiv is bad. I'm just saying I stopped using every acne treatment for a couple weeks). I bought benzac ac 5%, and finally my acne was back in control! I got rid of acne on my cheeks, and it significantly reduced acne on my forehead, but didn't get rid of it completely. It didn't get rid of my whiteheads on my chin though. And it REALLY dried out the skin and made it flaky. I had to use moisturizer like twice a day, and had to put on a couple of layers each time. I used it with clearasil ultra face wash (which has 2% salicylic acid, but it was fine on my skin combining these two products), and a non-comedogenic moisturizer with spf 15 (it was a Russian moisturizer, but I looked up all the ingredients that were in it, and it was non-comedogenic for the most part but it had tocopherol). The acne on my cheeks went away after a week or so of using it (and it was just a few pimples), but the acne on my forehead just reduced, but didn't go away. After a month of using it, the results are the same, acne doesn't go away completely, but it is in control. Doesn't get rid of whiteheads though.

Pros:

- Clears up if you put a thin layer on twice a day
- Dries clear and non-flaky unlike cream BP
- Doesnt sting and doesnt give you red irritated skin like sal. acid :)

Cons:

- AUD $15 bucks a tube, can be expensive if you use it on your back and chest
- Doesnt help with really, really, deep bumps

It's the best thing I ever bought for my skin, and I've used every single supermarket brand. Use the 2.5% if you dont have pus-filled spots (or if you are starting Benzac), use 5% if you have redness and pus and blockage, use 10% if you have deep under skin cysts. Give it at least 3-4 weeks. :)

Pros:

Affordable in total
Lessens the growth of my pimples
Good replacement for The Regimen BP
EFFECTIVE

Cons:

Expensive if u count the dollar per gram
It dries the skin

I've been using the benzoyl peroxide 5% since i cant seem to find the 2.5% in our local pharmacy. Been waiting for my acne.org products but i can't wait to start so i've been using this and somehow it lessened the number of growth of my acne. I think it would have been better if i used the Benzac 2.5% and maybe my face would be less red, dry and flaky

Pros:

- Clears up your skin
- Reduced amount of Blackheads

Cons:

- Dry Skin

I used the Water based Face Wash 5%, on 2x Daily use, and also on massive flare ups I used the 5% Cream overnight. Although this made my skin fairly dry, Benzac worked super well. Although my face is not completely cleared up, it has gotten rid of blackheads for the future and has brought the others out. My skin is slowly becoming clearer and this is only week 3-4! iam really happy with this product and would recommend it to anyone. I use to be embarrassed to go out at times because of my skin or flare ups, whereas now my skin looks cleaner and healthier. Ps. Make sure you use ALOT of moisturiser....

Pros:

works really well and really fast (:
no other cleansers work for me.

Cons:

um... dries out skin, burns for a bit when you put it on, and I find that if I use it every day my nose will be reddish and skin will peel.

works best if you use it every day to get rid of acne/pimples, then only once or twice a week to control your skin, i've found.

Pros:

This product does exactly what it says it does. It gets rid of your acne. It is a hardcore acne treatment that will completely dry-out your acne. Acne doesn't like being dried-out so it goes away. Simple as that.

Cons:

Hmmmmm.....Yea I won't lie, it dries out your skin. Get yourself a lightweight oil-free lotion for your face so you can actually smile when you look at your acne-free self in the mirror. It is a bit expensive ($40.00 for a 25g Jar)

This is a harsh chemical that you are applying your face to solve a serious problem. It works for me, but you need to know how sensitive you are to having a dry face. If having a dry face is worse than having acne for you, definitely steer clear of this product. I will continue to use this product to destroy those pimples, as well as the feisty big ones. One helpful hint for anybody using this cream, I would suggest mixing it every week or so with the plastic piece that usually comes with it. That seems to help it do it's job a little better. Just give this stuff a try. What do you have to lose? I don't know what everybody is talking about with the smell. In my opinion, proactive makes me want to vomit.
