Pros:

Cleared my problematic skin almost immediatly.
( and I was getting to the point where it could have been considered moderate to severe)

Cons:

Drying, but who cares?! My skin is clear!

I'm a 24 year old single mother, college student, waitress. If it's not the stress and lack of sleep that's causing my acne, it may be the grease from the restaraunt I work at. I bought a Panoxyl bar around 2 am the morning of April 20 when I got out of work. My skin was getting so bad, I didn't want to leave the house. My self esteem was dropping and I couldn't even make eye contact with anyone without feel self concious. Today is the 21st, my skin.... I kid you not... is clear. No acne. I have scarring and marks, but there is no "acne". Panoxyl is amazing, and I will recommend this product to everyone and anyone who will listen. I'm also using jojoba oil as a moisturizer because again it is very drying.

Pros:

Clears skin FAST!

Cons:

Bleaches towels, dries skin

It's amazing. Like everyone else will tell you, it clears skin in three days, tops. It makes insanely oily skin, normal. I LOVE panoxyl. I am also one of those people who has tried EVERYTHING short of Accutane (because it's got some scary side effects), and I am a harsh critic of acne medications. If I say it works, I swear it works. I'm using the face wash though, not the bar of soap. It's rich and creamy and lathers really well. So if you want a lather, go with that. You can still use it on shoulders, back, wherever (the bottles says its ok). Bottom line, if someone had told me about this 8 years ago, I could have spared myself 8 years of agony (all of high school, college and graduate school), thousands of dollars on prescriptions that did not work and felt confident about my face.

Pros:

dries skin... thus drying acne out. cheap. really easy to use, just a bar of soap.

Cons:

dried around my eyes and nose alot for the first week or 2. but w/e... just use moisturizer!

I used MURAD since July. It sucked... didn't really work at all and seemed to only make my acne worse. So... i gave up. I went to the doc, got prescription for PANOXYL and started using it. WOW! wat a difference too! i also started used this differen cream that i had b4 i used that at night and the panoxyl in the morning. my face looks the best it has since july! i can definately tell its getting better and better every week! and ive only been using the differin/panoxyl for 2 weeks!! seriously, i had pretty bad acne as a result of using Murad. when i switched to differin/panoxyl like 2 weeks ago, my face did a complete 180 turn (even though its not completely gone but it IS gettin there!) truuuuust meeee

Pros:

Immediate results, I mean, we're talking within two days you clear up! Easy to use and carry. Very cheap and easily available. Lasts a looong time, so good price/product. No scent.

Cons:

It bleaches fabrics. One needs a period of adjustment to determine frequency of use. If you stop using it your acne will come back.

I have been using Panoxyl Bar on my face since 2003. Let me begin by saying that my skin is SUPER sensitive AND I am quite fair skinned. I am also 36 and have visited TONS of people and used HUNDREDS of products. Being super sensitive means that I cannot use lots of products (including Parsol and hydroquinone), and the fact that I am fair skinned means that I develop brown spots easily. Panoxyl has been a miracle for me! Yes, it dries your skin, but you need to "listen" to your skin. Basically, if one day, you notice it is too dry, skip Panoxyl. I normally use Cetaphil for oily skin and when needed, Panoxyl. Little by little, you get used to how often you need it. If you stop using it, your acne will show up again. Also, be careful with fabrics as it TRULY does bleach them! I tend to use it at least once a day, and sometimes twice. You MUST use moisturizer after because it does dry your skin. Other than Panoxyl, I use Cetaphil and Avene's Diacneal (awesome!).

Pros:

WORKS. Great for using in the shower on body acne.

Cons:

Makes skin dry and itchy for the first couple weeks.

I had acne on my arms and shoulders that never went away. I saw an ad for PanOxyl Bar on TV, so I went and bought the 10% bar. It's really harsh stuff. Your body will adjust to the dryness after a while, and it's worth it. My arms and shoulders are almost completely clear now.
