Pros:

* Helps in reducing or preventing white heads
* Persistent use will result in improved complexion and reduction of acne.

Cons:

* Gel is too thick
* Because of gel viscosity absorption of moisturiser is not very effective
* Drying and Redness increased because of incompatibility with most moisturisers

Panoxyl AQ 2.5% works in a similar way to the DK regime BP. However, I have noticed differences. The main reason for this purchase was because of cost. It is a cheaper alternative to DK BP due to reduced shipping costs and can be easily purchased on Amazon. Great you say? Well initially you would think so. I would say though, tread with caution. Closer inspection of the ingredients list reveals the inclusion of SLS which is naturally drying. I don't know why you would add SLS with BP and this is more than likely why the 2.5% concentration of this BP compared to Oxy 10% is just as drying, if not more. It's very difficult to absorb it into the skin due to the thickness and this often leads to over exertion and possibly to much friction aggreviating the skin even more. It's also very difficult to add moisturiser over the top as the film of BP sits on top of the skin and doesn't fully absorb. All in all, you get what you pay for. A cheaper product with the unneccessary inclusion of SLS. It does do the job of helping to clear - but not as good as DK products/

Pros:

- cleared most of my acne

Cons:

- bleached my eyebrows
- did not clear chin
- very drying
- made my face very red after each use
- a little difficult to spread gently

I started the regimen with Panoxyl and it did a pretty good job I guess, but almost as soon as I switched to Dan's BP my face was nowhere near as dry, I have no redness at all and my chin is clearing up fast. The Panoxyl works alright, but it's not the best.

Pros:

It clears up spots quite quick

Cons:

skin very red where used
skin feels tight and dry

I am 21 and have recently came out in chin acne, which I have never had before. I usually get the odd few spots around 'Time of the month' as you can imagine, I have been stressing out about it, which has not helped! I have a very healthy balanced diet, so I just do not know where its came from. Anyway my mum works in Boots the Chemist, so she brought home Panoxyl 2.5 gel, and I have started using it 3 days ago. It has cleared my spots quite a bit, but as its only on my chin and around my mouth, this skin is very red and tight, it does feel dry but I have not had any flaking or 'peeling' as people are saying?? Can someone tell me if this is yet to come? I have been using it twice a day - Once at night, then once dried using Vitamin E body shop moisturiser, and then in the morning, and once dried, the moisturiser again, then make up. It almost feels like I have a red film over the spots, and I wonder when this goes away?

Pros:

It is starting to work for me already and i have only been using it about a week!!!! (:

Cons:

My skin was really embarrising as it went REALLY flakey around my chin area.however i found a good moisturizer with vitamin e in and it is now fine :)
i also had a really bad burning sensation a few nights into it and my face went red

This is working for me, i just definetley suggest a good moisturizer, to stop the redness i put panoxyl on about an hour before going to bed then put moisturizer on as i was going into bed and it was ok. also at the start i only used it 3 times a week as my skin couldnt cope. hope i helped (: x ps. i know this should be the right product as my doctor gave it to me

Pros:

It works good for about a month, but then you start to notice red mark scars skin after a while

Cons:

leaves skin dry, and if you don't have dark skin, like me, it leaves red marks where the acne was. its a chemical, it damages your skin!

don't be mislead by the great results after about a week or 2, because it leaves marks. stick to tea trea oil blemish stick, it works exactly the same and as quick, but doesn't scar because its all natural. use vitamin e moisturiser aswell.

Pros:

Cheap price
Convenient because it is available in every drugstore
Reduces redness and dries up pimples fast
Lightens up acne scars

Cons:

May take a few weeks before noticing the effectiveness
Leaves skin very dry if doesn't use with any moisturizer

I tried this product as an alternative while waiting for my regimen kit to arrive this july. Because I ran out of acne maintenance and don't wanna come back to my old dermatologist to purchase their way too expensive products, I stumbled upon this product while researching on the net. Its been a month of using panoxyl 2.5% and I can't say that its perfect but it did help tone down my angry pimples and notice that my acne marks which consists mostly of red papules lighten up. I rarely put moisturizer because of my super oily face and very humid weather here in philippines and it did left my face dry but not that bad...

Pros:

Does help a little, but for persistant acne I didnt see much change.

Cons:

Very irritating to sensitive skin and prone to leaving red marks.

Really dries out sensitive skin, even when moisturizer is used. To see the full effect a lot has to be applied, which isnt viable as the more you put on the more irritating it becomes. I would recommend this to people with oily skin, but for pale/sensitive skin forget it.

Pros:

Smoothes skin and de-greases oily skin

Cons:

redness, irritation and flaking

After using a very small amount for the first time, I woke the next morning to find I looked like I had sun burnt. My skin was sore and irritable. Although I suffered these side effects I persisted but used even less BP or gave myself a break inbetween days. After 2 weeks my skin is much smoother and less oily, however I still have a few spots and skin is flakey. It's worth a try but maybe not for those with sensitive skin.
