Pros:

Cleared acne

Cons:

made my skin EXTREMELY dry around my eyes, around my nose, and mouth.

I have an oily t-zone. I've tried Panoxyl for 3 days straight. I cleansed for about 2 min and followed with a moisturizer every morning and evening. On the first day, I noticed my skin becoming less oily. On the third day, my skin became so dry it started to peel. Peel. It was peeling around my mouth, corners of my nose, my chin, and my upper eyelids and below my eyes. Moisturizing didn't help. It looked like I had aged 40 years. I'm only 14. I couldn't open my mouth. The corners of my mouth were cracked and it was painful. I couldn't smile-- not due to the way I looked, but because it would crack my skin and it was painful. My eyes were rough and terribly dry. I didn't look like I was a 14 year old girl anymore. My face looked like a Halloween witch mask that went wrong.. It made the acne I had go away. And another pimple didn't show up within the few days of using the product, but the extreme dryness. It was horrible. I discontinued using the product. These three days of using PanOxyl occured last week. After I stopped using it, the peeling slowly stopped. My skin is still peeling right now, though. So to recap all of that-- It cleared my acne. But, it made my skin tremendously dry, my skin was peeling, and it was painful. Moisturizing didn't help. Exfoliating the peeled skin didn't help. It's not worth it. I don't recommend it.

Pros:

None

Cons:

Over drying
A bit pricey

I have moderate to mild breakouts, so this may have been a bit much for my skin. At first it seemed to be working and drying out my existing pimples. After using it for about 2 weeks, I started to get a lot more under the skin pimples and blackheads. My thought is that is stripped my skin of too much natural oil, so my skin had to over compensate and produce more oil, thus making my skin more prone to breaking out. Even if you have severe acne, I don't think this harsh product will work in the long run. I hear the 2.5 BP wash is better on the skin, so I may give that one a try if I can muster up spending $11 on something that may make my skin worse.

Pros:

removes oil, helps reduce breakouts, helps prevent breakouts

Cons:

extremely drying, leaves skin tight, strips away too much oil, gives skin shiny, "oily" appearance

If you have moderate to severe acne, this product will help clear you up and prevent new pimples, but your skin will over-compensate for the loss of oil, and can actually leave you looking more "shiny." Best for body acne. Use something less harsh for your face.
