Best I've tried so far.
I've been using bare minerals for years. There was one day I forgot to buy a new one and I had to buy something random from there drugstore, and you can definitely tell the difference. When I first got acne as a teen i would use mac, covergirl, or something i'd try at the drugstore. I always felt it made my skin worse. When I switched to bare minerals I could feel a difference because it didn't feel so caked on my skin, and it didn't seem like it was clogging my pores and in turn making my acne worse. If my acne get worse it's usually from other factors and not this make-up (i've been using it for years so that's what i'm assuming). The only time it has a cake-y look or feel is when my skin is just dry due to me trying to control a breakout with products or a change in regimen. If you want something that's light weight and controls redness (it really does a GREAT job at that!!!) try this.

!!!!!!!!!!!!
Those who say this product doesn't cover well most likely aren't applying it correctly or using the concealer over the foundation. I have very dark red acne marks and I use Bare Minerals everyday and get perfect coverage every time. The foundation is meant to be buffed on very softly. Also, take your time until you have the base you desire. Then you go over the problem areas with the concealer and blend well. You should be able to get the coverage you want no matter your skin type. Remember to cleanse, exfoliate and moisturize every day with a product that works for your skin type. Completely understandable if the product makes you itch, creates cystic acne, or irritates your skin. Then don't use it!!!! I'm just saying the coverage is wonderful when applied correctly!

Pros:

Doesn't cause spots
No oily skin
Covers redness

Cons:

Expensive
Can be a bit drying

The best foundation I've found so far. Doesn't cause any spots, covers redness, no visible acne scars and you don't end up with oily skin half way through the day. It is a bit pricey but lasts a while. You'll need to moisturize your skin well before hand, as it can make dry patches look flaky.

Pros:

Looks great in dim light
Covers light to medium hyperpigmentation
Matte controls oil (initially)
Looks natural

Cons:

TERRIBLE breakouts in the form of cystic acne
Highlights fine lines and enlarges pores
Expensive
Rubs off easily on clothing and tissue
Leaves skin oily over time

Initially, this make-up made me smile! The coverage was great'until I got in bright or natural light. You could tell where I applied extra as concealer for my dark spots caused by acne breakouts from using this product. I tried all of the natural remedies and other suggestions to treat acne listed on here and other acne blogs, and as soon as my skin began to clear, it would break out again. I cleansed the brushes regularly, thinking maybe I wasn't cleaning them thoroughly, but then I realized that my skin had NEVER been as bad as it was. Tonight, I made the decision to go back to the make-up I had been using since high school, an inexpensive non-comedogenic pressed powder. When I was using my old make-up, I received plenty of comments on how great my skin looked. I haven't received ONE comment since I started using Bare Escentuals. I went from mild, menstrual cycle induced acne to experiencing moderate acne (cystic, black and whiteheads). I'm DONE with this stuff. I am more than positive that Bare Escentuals is the cause of my recent acne nightmare! I wish I would have listened to my instincts earlier and left this crap alone.

Pros:

looks more natural than most foundations
no fragrance (why you'd want scented foundation is beyond me)
smoothes out complexion
good skin tone matches

Cons:

this is a light coverage
useless for covering up individual pimples(you'll need concealer)
it is, quite expensive

I've been using it for over a year. The main gripe I have is that it comes off quite easily. (my fiance is always trying to keep his face from touching mine, as it will transfer right to his).. But otherwise, I love that the color is light enough for my complexion, as all other foundations looked orange. It hasn't helped to improve my acne, as I was hoping it would, but it hasn't made it worse, either. Also, it comes off easier than some liquid foundations, which is a good thing, as it doesn't leave a residue. If you have the funds, I'd recommend it, It works better than any other foundation I've used, though I'd love to find something as effective- but less expensive.

great for oily acne prone skin.
I have acne prone skin and have suffered for years until i used bare minerals. The only gripe i have is that the coverage is very light but the more i use it the less breakouts i get so the coverage at that stage doesnt overly matter. Iv tried other makeup and end up reverting back to bare minerals. I recently bought estee lauder double wear which gives awesome coverage but again iv got a face full of spots :-( bare minerals all the way for me!!

Foundation is great, contour is not!
I have been wearing Bare Minerals for so long and it has never made me break out. But since my face is naturally red, I decided to use warmth as a blush instead of a red base color. Over 2 weeks, I've noticed that there were pimples only where I put warmth on. I then went back to sephora to try a compact bronzer from Bare Minerals. I still break out only where I put it on. Guess I will return and look for a different brand for contouring.

Pros:

light weight
"sleepable"
no smell
not clumpy
covers well
does not break me out

Cons:

kinda pricey

I've been struggling with acne since grade school, and I'm now 26. This is the only make up I've ever been able to use without aggrevating my acne. It looks great, it doesn't feel slimy or thick, and it easy. Try to clean and sanitize your brushes weekly to prevent bacteria. This has helped me as well. Highly recommend

Pros:

-look smooth and shiny
-easy to apply and lightweight
-lots of colors and can be mixed to desired color
-NOW COMES IN BLEMISH THERAPY WITH SULFUR.....YAY TREAT WHILE WEARING!!!
-healthy glow and doesn't make acne worse
-spf 15

Cons:

-expensive
-make sure your well moisturized before application otherwise look flaky
-disinfect lids in between each use and brushes to prevent contamination if your broken out

Bottom line: I love this stuff. No matter how broken out I am I know I am safe putting this stuff on. It has saved me for many dates, parties, vacations, and holidays. It gives me the confidence I need to leave the house. Make sure to wash twice to get it completely off. For best results conceal bad areas first then buff in the powder. I don't use veil not necessary.

Pros:

-Covers acne relatively well.
-Gives skin a nice "glowing" appearance.
-Healthier for your skin when compared to some other make-up brands.

Cons:

-Does not do the best job with controlling oil.
-Expensive.

If you do buy bare minerals, make sure you get the "matte" foundation...not only is it better with controlling shine but it does not contain 'bismuth' which may cause some people with sensitive skin to break out. Plus it has SPF 15...an added bonus!
