Dosent do much except some amount of exfoliation
After reading rave reviews, I tried this on my harmonal acne. I have a very sensistive and combination skin. It did nothing for my acne but did smoothen my skin out a bit. Mixing it with honey and using as a scrub worked better than leaving it as a mask. For sensitive skin- do a patch test before you decide to try out.

Burned my face REALLY BAD!
exam night and i'm having a few annoying stress pimples. i read about the baking soda paste and leaving it for 15-20 minutes thing.. well.. i didn't even get to reach the 10 minute mark.. it's my first time using it and i thought the slight burning sensation was normal.. just around the 7 minute mark i thought of washing it off.. i added some water and scrubbed the firs pimple a little but it was burning bad when i did .. so i just washed the rest off.. i dried my face and found out those huge red markings on my face and the part where i ruled .. my skin was peeled like a chemical burn!! BAD BAD BAD .. don't even think about it!!

You should never leaving baking soda on your face for more then 3 minutes!!! If you do it can cause burning sensations and discomfort.

Great spot treatment for oily skin!
I've heard a lot of love/hate for this, but let's calm down. Baking soda is really cheap, even if you get organic/natural. All I do is put some water on my finger, dip it in the box, and apply it to each wet pimple after washing my face. However, you have to be careful not to get the paste on the rest of your skin or it will dry it out. Leave it on for less than 5 minutes, and use a washcloth to wash it off with cold water. Apply a toner if your skin is too dry. I do this no more than once a day.

Totally Worth the Sting!

Pros:

Cheap
Really Works
Reduced swelling and cleared up face visably

Cons:

Stung really bad! (But worth It)

This product was Amazing! I didn't think much of it when I first came across it but thought that I would give it a go and it was awesome. I used 2tbsp of baking soda and mixed it with 2 tsps of water and made a paste and applied it in circular motions. Left it on for about 10 mins and rinsed with warm water. My face looks great! Reduced swelling, and cleared out pores.

Pros:

Its a natural way to get rid of acne, scars and redness, its very simple (mix water and baking soda until thick and apply) I put in on at night and wash with warm water in the morning. It gets rid of redness and the swell.

Cons:

It's very messy when dry, in dries the skin (but if you have a good moisturizer and apply right after you should be fine) and if you get some in your mouth while rinsing it tasts awful but it's harmless.

I will definetly be using it again ; every night and a mask at least two times a week. Its very cheap and again non-toxic. Good luck!

Pros:

inexpensive
good spot treatment
good exfoliator

Cons:

gets in your eyes and burns reall bad so keep away from eyes
drys skin

Baking soda is a good spot treatment mask and exfoliator. i prepare it three different ways for the different uses. Baking soda spot treatment -wash face -mix small amount of baking soda with lemon juice (you will see bubbles) -place the mixture on spots wit pimples you need to dry (it will feel tingly) Baking soda mask -wash face -mix baking soda with cerave or cetaphil cleanser to form paste -place paste all over face be careful to avoid areas near eyes and lips Baking soda exfoliator -After washing face with luke warm water -place small amount of baking soda over wet skin wait a little then exfoliate gentlyy BEE VERRRY GENTLE

Pros:

Clears up most of bacne
Beautifully smooth skin
Fades scars

Cons:

Irritating on sensitive skin
Hasn't necessarily clears up my facial acne- yet

I love using baking soda! I saw this on here and with it's pretty sturdy review, I decided to give it a shot. The first time I used it, I only mixed it with a wee bit of water, so it was very concentrated, and smoothed on my face as a mask. It was a lovely cool feeling for the first minute, but as I am on doxycycline, retin-a, and aczone, my skin is super sensitive, and so I washed it off as soon as I felt a burning pain on my nose and undereyes. Ever since, though, I use it blended in with my go-to cleanser (Clean & Clear Foaming Facial Wash Oil-Free) and it exfoliates and freshens like a charm! I bring a small bowl of it with me in the shower and blend with a gentle salicylic acid body wash for my back and chest acne, and it's super effective! I'd also recommend even using it with your regular body wash on your legs, arms, etc. It so exfoliating and lovely for the body, I couldn't NOT recommend it! So although I cannot say it's cleared up my acne, I can say it's an added pick-me-up to my too-long-used regimen!

Pros:

-super cheap
-completely easy
-clears acne (for most)
-cleans skin
-great for oily people :)
-no weird smells or harsh chemicals

Cons:

-stings a little (irratation)
-a bit messy
-may not work for you if you have very sensitive skin (be aware folks!)

I'm a teen with moderate break outs, but a couple weeks ago I got the WORST breakout I've ever had. Guys, it was gross. But, when I looked up some home remedies, I found baking soda the most reliable. I tried it and guess what, IT WORKED! I could finally show my face again -If you have really sensitive skin, add a lot of water and only a little bit of baking soda, then it doesnt irratate as much -if not, go for it :) mix water and baking soda together untill it makes a paste, then slab it on those pesty zits and wait 30mins-1hr, you can even leave it on all night if you desire. -use it once a week for oil and acne treatment, and MOISTURIZE! Because trust me, it does dry out your skin!!! ITS TOTALLY WORTH THE TRY!!!
