Pros:

moisturizing
healing
cooling
redenss reducing
under eye puffyness reduced
wrinkles reduced
very gentle

Cons:

skin can feel tight right after applying

I am in love with aloe vera. I use 99% pure organic aloe vera gel, with nothing extra added. (DO NOT try the crap from the drugstore). My face is VERY VERY sensitive (every lotion I have ever tried stings), and the aloe has been wonderful! I had dry, flaky rough inflamed skin that was also oilly and had piples and blackheads. I apply a thin layer after washing my face (with a baking soda paste which you HAVE to try! go read my review!) my inflamation and redness is GONE, my rough skin is gone, my pimples are gone, and my black heads are minimal! all in a little over a week with the baking soda + aloe (longer with just using aloe. the aloe alone helped, but together they have worked wonders. hence why I gave it 4/5) I now use aloe for all over moisture. My skin used to be always itchy, and now I just put some aloe on, and the itch is gone. I don't know how it will work during the dry minnesota winter, but so far it is wonderful!

Pros:

Feels cool and soothing
Reduces inflammation
Shortens lifecycle of pimple
Minimally lessens fresh red marks
Cheap
Natural

Cons:

Only lessens new red marks, does nothing for old ones
Can't apply it during the day because of shine/won't apply under makeup
Doesn't help clogged pores

I've been using aloe for a few weeks now. I put it on after going in the sun, or the next day if I end up with a minor sunburn. It's also great if you overuse topicals/actives and get a chemical burn. I'm in my mid-20s and never had anything but a cycle-related pimple every month or so. It's not hereditary for me. I've been on and off BCP with no problem, and I've never really washed my face carefully or did anything special. But four months ago I went to a naturopath who gave me a hormone test and concluded I needed a kelp-based supplement with thyroid and a cortisol pill as well as progesterone cream. I have had huge problems with acne on my jaw/cheeks since--I scarred for the first time in my life and ended up with clogged pores, whiteheads, cysts, and papules. Aloe has really helped. When I get an angry inflamed zit I apply aloe several times a day. I also use it after extracting a clogged pore. It prevents redness from getting out of hand. Zits heal more quickly too, and fresh red marks are diminished. It's cheap, feels lovely and cool on irritated skin, moisturizes well enough for my oily skin, and doesn't have any irritating chemicals or fragrances. Did it stop my acne? No. I admit I've found stronger things necessary for my resistant hormonal eruptions. But aloe REALLY helps in the aftermath. I also recommend aloe for internal use (if using from a bottle make sure it's made for consumption!). It's great for digestion and helps my skin even more than topical use. If you want more convenience you can use the Fruit of the Earth brand made with berry juice added. Wal-Mart has it.

Pros:

I used to have very intense cysts which would last for months and were often painful: they're gone. Spots do not last as long as they used to (now, gone in about a day)... my pores are smaller, my skin smoother...ETC.

Cons:

expensive - I don't use an aloe plant so I have to buy my aloe. I'm pretty picky about the quality so in truth, I'm probably spending more money on this acne treatment than any other more conventional treatment... but it is SO worth it.

I apply aloe to my entire face twice daily (about ten minutes after washing my face). My scars are fading and those pimples that do arise are quickly dealt with. In more than ten years of having acne, my face has never been better. Some things: - the pimples or spots that do arise are caused by my picking. STOP PICKING. It's really hard but it's amazing how much your skin will improve. The good thing about aloe is that if I forget myself, the aloe soothes the inflammation. - combine this with a good exfoliator to get the dead skin cells off. Aloe can dry your skin out. Also, I do a honey mask (yep, just what it sounds like) whenever my skin feels inflamed, usually after wearing makeup, or when my skin is dry, for about 20 minutes. - exercise, eat lots of veggies and whole grains. It helps! this has really been a wonderful treatment for me and it feels nice not to be covering my face with chemicals. But most importantly, Stop picking/touching/popping... Really

Pros:

-soothing
-cools down inflamed skin
-natural
-very similar to sebum (your skin's natural oils)
-emollient properties (skin softener)

Cons:

-can feel sticky, especially certain brands (like the kind targeted for sunburns)

Make sure you're using aloe in it's purest form. It does wonders for digestion if you drink 100% aloe juice (some people complain about the taste, but it heals inflamed digestive tracts which are a main contributor of acne). While it's not a good idea to pick or pull at your face, aloe vera is a very cooling option if you still do this. Very good product to put your mind and skin at ease when everything feels hot and bothered.

Pros:

Moisturizes
Makes skin look even
Makes pores look smaller (while its on)

Cons:

Doesn't improve acne

I use it as an all natural make up base. It makes my skin smooth and soft. Perfect before applying make up. I like it because its all natural and no chemical fillers to make me break out. I wouldn't use it solely to treat my acne or scars, but I'm sure it could help in the long run. I bought mine from [link removed] Its lily of the desert organic skin soothing gel

Pros:

-Makes my skin less oily and soft. I love how my skin feels cos its baby soft :).
-Dried up my spots.
- Good for scars.
- Freeeeeeeee

Cons:

-My skin feels soooo darn itchy all the time :( and it burns.
-Ive only been using this for like 2 days now but I noticed i still got one or two breakouts , dunno if this is normal but maybe its clearing it out from the inside. I'll still keep using to see the initial results. Fingers crossed.

I'm sure it works. Just give it time and use the fresh aloe plant not the gel based. Good luck.

Pros:

Had severe cystic acne. Had many scars and red blotches all over my face and to top that off I had oily skin gone mad! Nothing seemed to work until I used aloe vera. OMG! the thing works! My face is not as red, less oily,& feels CLEAN 4 the 1st time!

Cons:

Makes face feel sticky immediately after putting it on, but that goes away after it dries on yr face. Makes face feel tight after applying.Feels refreshing though.

I HAD severe acne(cystic) in which created many scars (pitted)-absolutely hate it!. It affected my confidence level down to 1 it seemed! I tried just about everything I could possibly imagine! Along w/new Acnefree severe skin treatment fr walmrt, I used aloe gel to heal redness and scars. Also used cider vinager to kill bacteria (really helps) and used homemade exfoliant (baking soda-not baking powder) to shed off old skin to treat my skin. I went all out. I also used a clay mask for oily skin (biore-) 3 times/wk to reduce oil. I had to used tons of daily regiments just for the stupid sh*** to jump off my face! I also take Vitamin B5 / Pantothenic Acid daily. The daily regiments worked. I had to do some major research! The bottom line is Aloe vera gel is helping my scars become less red and the healing process of old acne breakouts are going away! My poors are less visible as well, the aloe tightens my skin! it sounds like a lot but it cured my severe acne. Good luck!!!! I'm happy!

Pros:

smooths skin, fades red scars, evens out skin tone, heals pimples faster

Cons:

initial purge may occur because aloe clears the skin from within

I started using fresh aloe from the plant 4 weeks back. I apply it 4-5 times in a day and rub it in gently. Your skin does purge initally and my skin was bad so the purging took almost 3-4 weeks. It is beginning to get better now. Forehead and chin are clear. only cheeks are a little inflamed and red but that is slowly fading.
