Pros:

Heals scars, leaves skin smooth, no bad smell, natural, fool-proof, free for me because I just stole a few pieces from a neighbor's yard.

Cons:

Doesn't necessarily reduce actual acne, though it improves appearance of the skin and fades flaws.

I don't understand how these people are getting such weird side-effects, if they're using the plant and not the store-bought gel, which could easily have a lot of chemicals which cause allergic reactions. You should just sleep with it on your face at night, don't keep it on your face all day and go into public with aloe goo on your face... I know you want to heal your skin, but of course you're going to have problems that way.

Pros:

whoa. only 3 days. yeap. 3 days. a friend said that its a silent healer. he recommended it to me. now i call it my miracle plant.

Cons:

honestly, if u wana make it less messy, use a mask bowl!

i've done research online regarding aloe and acne. and they say its not a total acne treatment. but hey it does works wonders. my skin conditon looks clearer, less breakouts, less oily and definately made a happier me. also use a toner after and clay mask a few times a week.

Pros:

Moisturizes
Makes skin look even
Makes pores look smaller (while its on)

Cons:

Doesn't improve acne

I use it as an all natural make up base. It makes my skin smooth and soft. Perfect before applying make up. I like it because its all natural and no chemical fillers to make me break out. I wouldn't use it solely to treat my acne or scars, but I'm sure it could help in the long run. I bought mine from [link removed] Its lily of the desert organic skin soothing gel

Pros:

-You can eat it, rub it on your skin, or put it in your hair
-All natural
-Mild

Cons:

-Not as moisturizing as you might think
-A bit messy to handle

I've been rubbing aloe on my skin after I wash my face for almost two months now. After a few trials I think I figured out the best way to use it. If you are using it as a moisturizer like me I recommend you use some lotion after you rub it on your face because its water contents seem to evaporate very quickly and this can dry out your skin. Dry skin = unhappy (or even angry) skin! Applying moisturizer seals in the aloe goodness in my opinion. Let the aloe dry first then apply a layer of lotion on top. This will make your skin glow! If you are suffering from acne and everything you use seems to irritate it, then try the aloe paired with non-comedogenic, allergy tested, dermatologist tested moisturizer. Don't let your skin go dry because of whatever topical treatment you are using. It will upset your skin! BTW the aloe does peel when you put lotion on your skin. You will have to remove them as it bunches on the surface.

Pros:

Scar Reduction
Smoothness and Evenness
Cost is nominal(i.e. Cheap)

Cons:

Gooey

I am Mr. Skeptical since having acne 35 out of my 52 years, but believe it or NOT, the natural aloe vera works as long as you are not active. That is the 1 large stipulation I need to make. I bought the plant after using the FOTE gel. They bought seem to work for me. As subjective as Acne can be, you do not lose anything, just trying something natural... After having put so many chemicals in and on my body it is so refreshing to find something natural. I have schedule my first chemical(Salicylic and Lactic acid ) peel, but just may cancel after the aloe....

Pros:

cheap, natural, feels clean when you put it on

Cons:

none really

I tried aloe straight form the plant and it worked wonders but when walking through a store, I saw FOTH 100%aloe gel and I thought it would be easier to manage than the fresh plant. Be careful! The bottled stuff I got said "100% pure aloe vera gel," meaning it was 100% gel, NOT 100% aloe vera. I was apparently allergic to whatever else was in it (which turned out to be a lot when I read the back of the bottle), and my face freaked! Aloe from the plant is amazing; the FOTH gel is not.

Pros:

clears up skin slowly but surely. marks fade away, smoother skin complexion, oiliness is reduced, blackheads reduced to a very large extent. its all natural! REMEMBER: YOU ONLY NEED A THIN LAYER OF ALOE ON YOUR FACE.

Cons:

takes time to work for some people (as it did in my case). purging occurred but not as severe as retin a. marks take time to fade away (month n a half or so). u hav to use natural stuff from the plant to see results. I could not wear makeup.

It works. For those who say it does not work, you have not given it enough time to work. Its funny how we can wait for as long as 5-6 months for a thing like retin a but not even give 2-3 month time frame to an amazing plant like aloe. I'v been using the plant for about 3 months now and my acne has cleared significantly. Now i do not need to worry about what i eat n all that because skin is getting clear from within. Purging is to be expected because aloe brings the toxins of the skin to the surface. Pls. be patient. As with retin a, give your skin 3 six-week cycles to see results because our skin takes that long to rejuvenate and react to a new product. I had to stop using makeup because i felt that it helped to let me skin breathe. I apply the aloe from the plant 3-4 times everyday after washing my face with chickpea flour (no soap or facewashes seem to suit my skin) you can get this flour at an Indian store. My skin is very oily so it worked for me. A thin layer is all you need

Pros:

its amazing! extremely healing. does fade discoloration giving you a more even toned complexion. Makes skin soft and its 100% NATURAL! which is to me the best part.

Cons:

kinda smells like BO. its goopy. but its really nothing to complain about. THIS IS MY FAVORITE NEW STUFF TO USE ON MY SKIN

I have moderately severe acne. Ive used this plant for 3 days now. Noticed a difference the first time i used it. This plant is honestly amazing. It heals whatever acne you have and stops the pain! Doesnt necessarily stop new acne from coming but it does fade red scars and discoloration and makes your skin soft. My skin is pretty much healed! Im really into health and doing things the natural way so i MOST DEFINITELY RECOMMEND TRYING THIS. but my acne just recently got really bad so i had to start doxycycline(antibiotic) I was pretty desperate and just started taking zinc(vitamin). soon will start taking many more vitamins that most of us with acne are lacking which could be one of the causes is to why our acne isnt healing and we cant get it under control. If you want to know more about vitamins and what foods to eat and not eat go to this website [link removed] and click on folk remedies. If you are desperate like me its worth a try!

Pros:

-I haven't had any new spots since using product and I had been getting one or two on an almost daily basis.
-My dry skin and red marks from previous spots are clearing up.
-Fairly inexpensive and easy to find
(approx. $7.85 per 200ml bottle)

Cons:

None so far; I don't find that it's sticky and I can use it during the day in small amounts but I usually apply it before bed.

I use Aloe Pura Brand Organic Aloe Vera with Antioxidant Vitamins A, C and E 99.9% Bio Active Aloe Vera I feel like I have finally found something that doesn't have any drawbacks. I had been using 2.5% BP but that leaves my skin very dry, red and scaly but the aloe vera seems to be actually healing my skin.

Pros:

Tightens skin!
Makes skin feel and look healthier.
It has only been like 5 days but it looks like my scars and hyper pigmentation is fading ever so slightly.

Cons:

Had a small breakout not too long after starting use... Aloe Vera may be responsible but i'm not sure.

I put it on every night after I wash and moisturize. Just cut the plant open and then cut that in two to use as a pad type thing to rub on my face. It really tightens your pores and they stay tight. I really feel like this stuff can help me finally defeat acne. After accutane and consistent mild acne... knock on wood... I think I have finally found a routine that will knock this stuff out for good.
