hydrating but not a miracle worker
I used to apply a layer of this on my skin before putting my makeup on in the morning, it acted really well as a barrier on my skin to prevent the makeup sinking into my pores and making them clogged. My skin felt nice and soft after using this and I do think it helped hydrate my skin but I don't think it had a massive impact on my acne. Ive now found a new daily moisturiser that works a lot better for my acne which i've replaced the aloe vera with. Overall it was nice to apply but I don't think it had the huge benefit to my acne that some people claim it has.

Pros:

- It doesn't smell very bad
- Sooths and cools down skin
- You can use as often as you can

Cons:

- No major results for me
- It has a stinging, burning sensation for about 5 mins.
- You're face becomes a mould for about 30 minutes and can feel stretching out.

Well I have a different one by "Dr. Organic" called Bioactive Skincare 100% Aloe Vera Gel and I haven't really seen any major results on the course of week.. but anything can happen I don't have any acne but some acne scars from minor acne over the past and it said it treated scars and damaged skin so I thought I'd try it... doesn't seem to be doing a good deal though.

Works wonders for the skin

I tried applying a Aloe vera mask ever night before bed and i let it sit overnight for my skin to absorb the benefits of the gel. Aloe vera holds antibacterial and anti-inflammatory properties and have helped reduce the redness and texture of my acne and it has also made my skin smoother and more hydrated. It can be used as a moisturizer and it helps with cuts and burns.

The cheap stuff is the good stuff

I got a gigantic tube of aloe vera gel for about $2.  (It says it's 100% aloe gel, but has a few minor preservatives.  I'm not too worried about it.)  I have also used gel straight from my own potted aloe plant when my skin was really irritated.  I use a tiny bit every day and it seems to help with moderate acne.  I mean, it's not a cure-all.  You won't get that baby's-butt-perfect skin that you get from slathering yourself in benzoyl peroxide.  Still, it has been great for healing scabs and calming inflammation.  Using too much will make me flakey--possibly due to the salicylic acid content?  I'm not sure what the percentage is... I plan continue to using it morning and night because it helps and it's cheap!  There might be other benefits long term as well:

Go plants!

Pros:

Cheap, portable, non-oily

Cons:

Won't work against cystic acne

I bought another brand from Amway which cost 5 times as much. It was a bit too oily for my liking as they probably put some moisturizers in. I was a bit skeptical about this product because it was so much cheaper. But I like this one... I find this routine effective Benzoyl peroxide during the day Aloe Vera gel throughout the night.... The benzoyl peroxide treats the active ones... the aloe vera helps the healing and probably prevent new ones...

Pros:

It calms the skin and when I wake up in the morning my acne marks seem to have faded a bit :D not sure if its helping my pimples in general, but I know I developed a new one yesterday.

Cons:

it's goopy, no big deal.

Try it, it stops oily skin at the very least.

Pros:

Great for soothing the skin and does dry up some zits without irritation

Cons:

Makes face feel tight at first but moisturizes the skin

I use Lilly of the Dessert brand. More natural and has vit. a, c, and e in the product. It didn't clear me up but helped with soothing my skin. I had to get used to the gelly texture for moisturizing my face but it dried on my face well. Doesn't clogs pores, not oily at all.

Pros:

cheap as!!
not smelly
matt finnish

Cons:

it burns your eyes!!
can sting
can make skin tight

this is cheap as 100% aloe (not really) but close enough in a way it does moisterise but because its aloe gel right, it dries as a thin layer on your skin, which tightens your skin ( i tried as a depuffer for eye bags, and it works, but omg it burns so i stopped i domt get why it would burn though). if you want an aloe moisteriser i recommend palmers aloe gel. which is more mositerising i use on my t zone, cos it gives a matt effect. great makeup base, smoothes the skin, and when dries it makes sure your makeup stays on. cools skin in good way. if you have normal oilyish skin use this!!, makes it matt, and it does smooth skin. does not cause breakouts. don't expect miracles with amazing magically healed skin. you may think cos its natural, adn its aloe that it has antioxidants or vitamins but its in a clear container so these are useless. it simpliy doesn't irriate skin, making it easier for skin to heal with tim

Pros:

From what I hear it gets rid of redness quickly (I'm black). I've also noticed my acne reducing.

Cons:

When it dries it feels tight on your face for a few minutes.

This product is not a budget buster and works very well for the price.
