Pros:

Cooling
Helps heal (a study found that aloe Vera helped to bind proteins together, resulting in faster healing)
Holds in moisture
No alcohol or fragrance
Reduces irritation and inflammation
Cost effective and large bottle

Cons:

Slightly sticky feeling on face
Has a few preservatives (salts) if that bothers your skin, was never a problem for me

Will help atleast little bit, make sure if you have dry skin to moistureize before you apply it as aloe doesn't moistureize; it just holds in moisture that is already there. People saying it caused scales and dry skin didn't realize that so it shouldn't be a problem for most people.

Pros:

Instant cooling feeling
Brightens complexion
Fragrance-free
Moisturizes
Can also be used as a hair gel

Cons:

If you apply it to closely to your eyes, you may experience a slight sting with watering. Nothing major though!

I started using FOTE Aloe Vera gel in February. Already my skin has begun to clear and my complexion is brighter. I'm a believer :D

Pros:

Great as a gentle facewash. Takes off waterproof mascara, ladies! No longer clogging my pires by piling on heavy creams after stripping oils from my face (even with cetaphil gentle skin cleanser.

Cons:

Gets stiff on the face when I've tried it as a moisturizer. I only use it as a facewash.

I found that my face was less oil-slicked and flaky if I stopped stripping the oil from my face with the cetaphil gentle skin cleaser and then piling on heavy creams to gain back the moisture and end up clogging up my pores. I now use 99% aloe vera gelly from a natural market, bp 2.5%, light moisturizing sunscreen. Will be trying AHA+ at night instead of my current time intensive 3x week manual exfoliation with a textured sponge to see if I get better results with less stress to the skin.

Pros:

Can be used for acne, irritated skin, sun burn, insect bites and many more.

Cons:

None till now

I saw many people found that it caused them to break out more, and that is because you are supposed to wash it after about 15-30 minutes it's best if you put it on half an hour before you take a shower.

Pros:

Cheap, easy to use, no scent, extremely effective!

Cons:

It can be a little drying if you use too much. I wouldn't reccomend putting it right before you leave the house-although I don't find it at all inflammatory it makes my skin a little red to begin with

I had tried EVERYTHING before this, I wish I'd known about this five years ago! After two weeks of using aloe my skin is 100% better than it was before- Hardly any red patches, scars have faded and no spots.

Pros:

-Reduces redness
-Non-irritating
-Great for acne-prone skin
-Cheap, but I had to buy it online

Cons:

-Seems to dry skin a bit, but I found that it may be because aloe is not really a moisturizer; it's made to hold moisture in. For me, it left skin dryish because there was no moisture to begin with.

Worth using for the reduction of redness. I like to use it after a little jojoba oil to seal in the moisture. :)

good aloe vera
MUST have plant. Not only is it cute but its also healing. This medicinal plant is great and inexpensive. I have 2 small ones around the house. One in the kitchen and one on the porch. I recently accidentally burned myself while heating wax in the microwave and the plastic holding the wax just burst all over.....yikes.....I know. It was an excuriating pain but the aloe help soothed the pain. Its also great for sunburns, cuts, after facial waxing which I now heat in a wax warmer (lesson learned).
