Helps with irritated skin
This stuff is really good. I have mild persistent acne - but more skin irritation than anything. Like constant itchy sensitive skin. This helps nip my breakouts in the bud and reduces that feeling of irritation too. Would recommend. I buy complete organic natural ones from ebay and amazon. Always moisturize afterwards. It leaves my skin feeling tight

Maybe
I looked into abs a lot , I got mine from amazon it's the incredible by nature brand . When looking for abs it needs to be raw organic , and 100% pure unrefined. Mine was made in Africa so that's good lol . The kind I have comes in a big block I cut it in half and put it in two zip lock bags then I use one of the half at a time and cut pieces off . Each piece lasts me about two days . I got a soap holder from wallgreens about two dollars put the pice I cut off one of the blocks in it . Never put the soap directly on your face it will scratch you ! Rub it between your hands and use the later from yours hands on your face . I have been using abs again for about two weeks ' I tried it about a year ago and gave up after a week ' I use it at night to wash my makeup off and then I use first aid beauty ultra repair face moisturizer. No more toners or oils I'm trying a simple more natural route . You will need a moisturizer with abs !!! Preferably a non comedogenic one ! In the morning in the shower I barely touch the soap just like hold the wet bar and wash my face with that . And follow by moisturizer. Since cutting my routine and using abs and only moisturizer my face has improved about 35 % in two weeks ! I have been getting a lot of compliments! Wich is great to hear expecially when all you do is obsess over your face . Hearing good feed back is amazing ! I plan to stick to this routine for a minimum of two more months and see where it takes me. Good luck ! ðŸ' ps this type of black soap doesn't seem to be the one to get considering their are to many ingredients and fragrance is one of them ! The one I use that I said up top is only like 15 dollars or something on amazon and will last about two months !

May I ask where you purchased yours and how you introduced it to your skin? Did you start right away and wash morning and night or did you ease into it gradually? I'm just trying to get insight before I dive head first, literally.

like it
trying to desperately help my dry, itchy skin. I have acne, eczema, and sensitive skin. I have always used Dove soap, but I have found that this stuff is better. It is more drying in the sense that I feel "squeaky clean" skin after the shower, but yet my skin feels less irritated. I just make sure to put moisturizer on immediately. It's been really nice stuff. I just bought a second bar. Not sure I would use it on my face though...I stick to my Purpose Gentle Cleansing Wash for that.

good
African black soap is amazing. when I started using the soap my skin seemed to be getting a little dry around my blemishes, then as they cleared up this was no longer a problem and my skin looked great. I follow up with a good moisturizer, usually almond oil or raw shea butter, on both face and body.

The perfect natural option
(I don't use the brand pictured above) Obsessed with African black soap!! Makes me feel soooooo clean and happy that its chemical free!! I've always LOVED my cetaphil and had a hard time giving it up but African black soap finally allowed me to make the switch to natural products! Can't say that it's cleared my blackheads or anything though but hey it hasn't broken me out

Amazing
I freaking love African black soap. It cleans your skin like no other and makes it so soft. It has helped my acne and allowed me to stop taking medicine from my dermatologist and using retin-a cream. All i do is use a charcoal sugar scrub to exfoliate and remove most of my makeup then use this and wa-la! My skin is squeaky clean. I have only had a couple of pimples since I started using this and I used to have a bunch! I use this on my whole body because it makes your skin feel AMAZING. If I had to say ONE thing wrong it's the creepy black residue it leaves, but all soap leaves residue! Overall I love it and I love the smell.

Shea butter (brand)African black bar
This soap works wonders! I purchased this soap at Walgreens for under 5 dollars :) My face is extremely oily so needless to say I have cystic acne. I have battled acne since 2004 and have completed three rounds of accutane (2004,2008,2013). I've tried numerous face washes I.e. glycolix, obagi system, cerave AM...just to name a few) and with that being said, I haven't had long lasting results :( So far so good! Bc of the retinols I use, my skin tone is uneven...for whatever reason my acne scars have lightened up! This soap brings out the pimples almost over night...then it flattens out and flakes off(very strange lol). If you have battled acne like myself, I think this is worth a try. Good luck! Xoxo

Pros:

Cheap.
Easy to use
Clears acne quickly
Leaves skin soft

Cons:

Leaves skin abit dry (light moisturiser sorted it)

Skin looks a tiny bit red?
Skin seem a tad more sensitive (but nothing major)

I used akoma black soap from ghana.100% natural.i use it morning and evening and it really has helped clear my acne (severe) I soap the bar in my hands and then apply to face..remove with warm face clothe then splash with water.leaves face soft and clear but a tad dry.has cleared my face almost entirely! I dnt wash over my eyes with it as I found it stung alot.also I was told u could wash hair with it...DONT! Left it awful.but for face its fantastic! :))

Pros:

- Works on most skin types
- Help clear skin bumps and spots by using black soap daily.
- Helps relieve acne, oily skin & other skin problems.
- Great for removing makeup.
- Fights against premature facial lines and wrinkles.
- Can also be lathered and used as an effective shampoo.
- Smells fantastic
- 100% natural, no animal testing, cruelty free

Cons:

Absolutely none.

I have sensitive combination skin with light/moderate acne on my face. Mainly I have little bumps and an underground pimple on my chin or forehead. This soap works wonders. A big mistake I've made when trying to fix my skin is I tend to purchase cleansers and treatments that dry up my skin, hoping to dry up the pimples underneath. However, it just doesn't work. I use Nubian Black Soap. Their recipe contains palm ash, plantain peel extract, tamarind extract and papaya enzymes. Not only does it smell heavenly, but it leaves your skin feeling refreshed, clean, smooth and clear. The night I first tried this soap out I could feel I had a cyst forming in my hairline, but it was in it's beginning stages (you know when it hurts to touch and becomes swollen). Well, I woke up the next morning and it was GONE. So far this soap has helped my skin immensely. I use Raw Organic Apple Cider Vinegar, Tea Tree Oil and water as a toner in my daily routine as well as Aloe Vera as a moisturizer. I hope this works for you as well it's helped me. peace~

Pros:

All natural, improves texture, balances out oil, good smell, reduces redness and overall clears acne.

Cons:

Takes a while, but worth it.

It's worth it! I'm very skeptical with trying out new things, especially face soap but African Black soap does the trick for me. I use the Nubian brand, but almost any is just as good as the other. I can stress enough how much this helped my skin out.
