Cons:

It broke me out terribly. I just used it for 3 days and it broke me out. My left cheek got many pimples because of it. I can't believe it, now I don't want to go out any more.

Never try any mederma product again

Pros:

-Helps fade acne scars.

Cons:

-It is inconvenient to have to apply 3 times a day, when you have busy days.

I DO NOT use the gel, I used to but I hated that it peeled when I put on makeup. Now I use the Merderma cream with spf. It is a few dollars extra, but worth it. It goes on easier & I have no problems with it with my make up. I used Mederma before for about 3 months, & it did help, I'm just can't remember how much it helped because it was a long time ago. But I remember that it did help, I just had to quit using it then because I couldn't afford it! lol. But now, I'm back on it, have been for a little over a month & I think it has helped. Most of my scars are really old, so I will continue using for some more months (if I can continue to afford it! lol) But I know for a fact it does help, so I do reccommend it.

Pros:

- softens scabs from picking at acne
- heals new scars quickly
- reduces redness overnight
- overall improvement of texture and color

Cons:

- takes a long time to improve old scars

I absolutely adore this product. I get large pimples around my jawline which often leave an ugly sore or scab when popped. Mederma has really helped soften the scabs, while making the skin pinker instead of a bright and agitated red. Although the tube claims you shouldn't use this on open wounds, it's worked really well for me on open sores and I have yet to experience a problem. I have noticed that it will put a shiny film over open sores, but this is beneficial if you want to cover it with make-up. Mederma seems to make the most dramatic improvements when left on overnight. I usually leave a large drop on the problem area and rinse it off in the morning. Although it does sort of get stuck on there it can be removed with warm water.

Pros:

- Reduces redness
- You start to see an improvement (on acne scars) in only a few days!

Cons:

-The horrible itchiness!
- It has to be applied 3 - 4 times a day
- Peels if not rubbed in all the way

Mederma is great! It really helps with acne scars, and it reduces the redness quickly. However, do NOT use this product before you go to bed. The itchiness will drive you crazy! One night, I woke up and realized I was furiously rubbing my face against my pillow. Haha.

Pros:

Cooling effect, not messy.

Cons:

No visible change: used it for post surgical scar.

Probably good for very small scars and recently acquired scar, it is definitely not for post surgical scars.

Pros:

-Nice texture

-Skin looks really great after you leave the gel on overnight

-Redness diminishes drastically

-Does not induce zits like other treatments seem to

-Keeps oil under control without drying out the skin

Cons:

-Peels if you don't rub it in enough

-Takes a while to see results on older scars

-Needs to be applied at least 3 times a day to get results

Even though it takes a lot of time and commitment, this product is great. I have really sensitive skin that breaks out in hives from almost anything I put on my face, and this really helps to get rid of the redness and the scars that have built up on my cheeks. If you use this with really good moisturizer (I use anti-aging serum at night and clinique during the day), it gives your skin a nice base to apply makeup to while allowing your skin to heal. I have noticed a big difference in just a few weeks.

Pros:

-Faded my new red scars within a couple days
-Helped control and deter active breakouts
-I like the smell :)

Cons:

-Can be pricey
-Takes time to rub it in completely
-May peel and start to itch

I am in love! A month back I had a seriously horrible flare up that wrecked havoc on my face. About two weeks ago I started putting Mederma on my face at night after I cleansed. I get in 2 to 3 layers a night, alternating between mederma brand gel, and kroger brand scar cream. After I had done this just three days, I was already getting compliments on my complexion! It even helped get rid of active pimples on my face and is helping push out blackheads (which was a totally unexpected and fantastic bonus). One downside is I can't put it on in the morning, because my makeup will make it peel. Also, make sure to rub it in completely- keep rubbing until it starts to dry- or it will have more of a tendency to peel off, especially when you are adding additional layers. I have had a great success with using these scar creams, you should try it!
