Pros:

if you are using it the first days, your skin feels kind of smooth and clean

Cons:

didn't help at all

high recommended refining mask smells weird (if you are using the toner after the mask it smells even more bad) and also after letting it on the skin for a whole night it still doesn't work

got pimples and blackheads around my mouth

not for people who don't want to spent more than 5 minutes to clean there face

pro aktiv can maybe a could treatment for people who don't have really bad skin or only a few breakouts. I have the typical t-zone skin (oily forehead, dry to oily cheeks and large pores) I also have a very bad skin on my back. Pro aktiv didn't say anything of using it on the back or that it would work there but I used it there too, with no change. I am glad that my skin doesn't gets worse of this product. Like I said, proactiv is maybe not a bad product but I would only use it if you don't have bad breakouts and acne.

Pros:

Quality scrub

Cons:

Expensive
Too fragrant
Might not work

I am a 28-year-old acne sufferer. My breakouts have been under control for years now, but over the past 6 months they came back with a vengeance. I started using Proactiv in college, and it cleared up my condition. I used it for years, until I was about 23. I quit b/c it was expensive and b/c I noticed that I didn't need it anymore. I started grad school recently, and I think the stress made me breakout. Last month, after unsuccessfully using a variety of products (Burts Bees acne system being one), I decided to give Proactiv a try again. I was using it for a couple weeks, and things seemed to be okay, but then my acne got WAY worse! It spread underneath my chin and onto my neck, something that has never happened before. The pimples were often huge and painful to touch. This went on for two weeks before I decided to stop using Proactiv. I don't know what Proactiv did to their system, but it's just not the same. I used it for years before with positive results. My breakouts used to clear up in two weeks on it! I don't know if it's my age or what, but that shouldn't matter. This is supposed to be formulated for everyone. I've switched to AcneFree Severe acne kit and it seems to be working. It's cheaper and you don't have to pay shipping.

Pros:

helped a bit with acne

Cons:

made my skin so dry i had to stop using it. my skin was red and flaky for quite a while

I had tried this years ago and dried out but saw there was a new improved formula that was supposed to be gentler so i tried that. i didn't notice any difference. my acne did start to go away but it got so dry and red that I had to stop using the products. After trying absolutly everything out there i have to say that zenmed has helped me the most. If you have mild acne and really really oily skin this may work for you but if your acne is any worse or your skin is even normal in oilyness - try zenmed!

Pros:

None.

Cons:

During the summer I was using the new clean & clear face wash and it worked wonderfully for me until my skin got use to it. Every couple of months I have to switch cleansers in order to regain clear skin. One month ago I bought proactive, which I believed could absolutely cure my acne. However, proactive did the exact opposite and totally made me break out in red pimples and acne everywhere. I am still in the process of using it because my sister believes it can help my skin, as it did for her.

If you have experienced the same results, give me some advice because my skin was never this bad. Now I'm just sad and I wake up everyday hoping my skin is clearer. I hate going out in public because my bad skin gives out attention. Someone help me!

Pros:

refining mask works

Cons:

over-priced, smells like kindergarten craft paste, does not work

Ive used proactiv for years.. I used to have horrible acne in middle school where my face would rash and proactive got rid of the rashes for the most part. But I still have moderate acne and im in my first year of college. I have breakouts every other week, once one breakout heals. If i had before and after pictures, there would be no significant difference. I finally decided to switch to exposed acne treatment considering that it got many good reviews. I will definately comment on how that works, if it does! Overall, I do not recommend buying proactive. Look up other product reviews such as Exposed Acne Treatment before wasting your money. =]

Pros:

doesn't dry skin out, smells nice

Cons:

doesn't work like it swears it does.

it's not worth it.. it works pretty good for about a week and gets your hopes up, then it just stops working, probably because your skin gets used to it. totally not worth the money, and honestly the best thing to do is just visit a real dermatologist. it may be expensive, but atleast they know what they're talking about. DON'T WASTE $$ ON PROACTIV.

Pros:

It made my skin feel really smooth the first couple of days and then I started getting monster zits and my face looked horrible. I used it for 6 months and every month i would get horrible flare-ups.

Cons:

Helps small zits...but never gets rid of ALL zits. Also drys out skin.

Don't buy it. Maybe it works for some people, but it was just really disappointing for me. They have really good advertising though =]. It helps small acne, but in the long run it doesn't get totally rid of it. I'm trying different products now.

Pros:

-Worked great in the short term
-Relatively affordable
-All products smell good

Cons:

-Stopped working after a few weeks

I used this back when I was a junior in high school. It took about 3 weeks to kick in and then I had the clearest skin since I started developing acne when I was 14 (I'm now 21). It then worked for 2 weeks, but after that I started getting more pimples and eventually it stopped working altogether.
