Pros:

NOTHING...cheap maybe.

Cons:

made acne worse
dried/irriated skin

Just don't do it. I switched to eXposed about a month or two ago (which is why I was on this site in the first place...to write a review for that.) eXposed is just soo much better. It actually CLEARED my acne, but if you have dry skin (which you will after proactiv) the Moisture Complex is a must, so don't be cheap about it. I will never again waste money on proactiv.

Pros:

Quick
Easy to use
Virtually invisible
If the 2 .5 % original set or products doesn't work amazing for you, there's a gentle kit with the primary ingredients being 2% salicylic acid and an extra strength version with the primary ingredient being 7% Benzoyl peroxide. Options, people, options.

Cons:

Slightly drying even for the oiliest of skin
Time consuming
Automatic billing sucks

I've tried everything over the counter. Everything you could possibly buy at your local acne aisle at you local store hasn't really been as good. So before my junior year, I bought the special 1 month kit for about $35. It worked, but I applied a lot of the lotion. I stopped using it because I quickly cancelled, before my first automatic shipment, but I loved the product. Now before my senior year, I bought it on ebay and it is super cheap. A 60 day set is around $30-40 dollars if you buy it with the toner. The toner really didn't do anything amazing but it helps somewhat. I've started using proactiv again, for about three days now. and I'm only using the cleanser and the lotion. My skin is so unrecognizable. My acne is like 70-80% gone. Here's what I do: Pat water on your face. Apply a dime sized amount of the cleanser. Rub it in for about 2 minutes, but don't add anymore water. You really want the scrubby particles to really slough off the dirt. When you're done, rinse the cleanser off. Moving on, you use the toner (if you want to). Then, after that apply a quarter (not dime) of the repairing treatment in either the original 2.5% BP or the 7% BP extra strength formula on problem AREAS not spots (depends on what you buy, I tried the 2.5 my first time, now I use the 7%; Dan says it really doesn't matter), After the treatment dries you can add any light moisturizer with spf. At night I like to do the same, but I personally skip the moisturizer because I have oily skin. Again, this isn't a miracle cure, but it's pretty close to it. If this doesn't make an improvement on your skin, pretty much there's no hope for you with over the counter stuff. Sorry:( also, this isn't a permanent cure, you have to use it everyday. Let's put it this way, I'll stop using this whenever I outgrow acne. *TIP If you want to get a super deal on this, place your max. bid on ebay at the last 10 to 6 seconds of an auction not hours before. Your max. bid

Pros:

Minimizes acne

Cons:

Makes skin dry
Stings so horribly
Does not clear up acne completely
Stops working after a few weeks

I used this for a couple of months and this is total crap. It did minimize my acne, but it never cleared out those small acne dots. The toner (Step 2) made my skin sooo dry and it stung me like a bee.

Pros:

Their advertisement are really good you will be convinced to buy one

Cons:

Proactiv is not true to their words
the "60-day money back guarantee" is not really true

I've used it for a couple of weeks and I started to have breakouts and left a mark/scar on my face. I called them and I told them that I want to refund and return the 2nd package I received the girl whom I talked to is insisting that I should give it a try for another couple of weeks because it will really take effect for or after 60 days. what the heck! I returned the package i went to their website and followed the instruction on returning the product. But clearly it was not stated that if you ship it back you need the purolator courier so I shipped it using canada post. And as I tracked the package it was on hold since mar 9, canada post said the driver on the mississauaga postal facility had like an agreement with proactiv returns centre not to deliver the package instead they will pick it up. And until now it is still on the postal facility. I dont know why they are doing that. And it says on their site within 60 days and unopened package they will refund the shipping fee but now they are just refunding $55 I paid for the shipping fee on their "purolator" and for canada post and the trial package that they said can be refunded if you are not satisfied.

Pros:

I've been using it for half year now, it works really good and clears out within a few days when I first tried it.
well detailed describtion with refining mask as gift just makes you want to have it even more.......

Cons:

The recurring billed packages you never expected when you signed up on site.
I've been charged blindly for two months already even after I called the customer service (which that girl got sh*tty attitude) canceled my account, then it charged me again next month? I am furious of this ridiculous bs, I went on paypal to search for a solution which I found a way to stop the continuously billing madness...hopefully...

It works, but the price just not worth it. one package last me for three- four months. yet its starting to dry out my skin when I put on the toner and even after I put on the step 3 repair treatment it BURNS! Purchase this at your own risk, at first the price may seem too well attractive but later on if you're not careful they'd charge you more than what they first advertised without you knowing the RECURRING billing every month. AND even you canceled the account, you'd have to manually disable the agreement thru paypal (if you used paypal like me) and if you want refund, you have to send the freaking ridiculous package you didn't order back yourself also put up with sh*tty customer service =)

Pros:

• Non-offensive aroma
• Somewhat effective
• Inexpensive

Cons:

• Drying
• Not 100% effective
• They send out a lot of annoying emails and direct mailers

I used Proactiv a few years ago for a few months and then again recently for a few months (I was coaxed into giving it a second try because of the reformulation). Both times the product was mildly effective, clearing up small blemishes. It seemed to have little to no effect on my larger, cyst-like blemishes and did not help much during my hormonal peaks each month. My skin would also get very flaky, even while using the moisturizer that came in the package. The bottom line is that I would not recommend this product to anyone over the age of 25, experiencing moderate to severe acne, it's far too drying and I believe that because of that it is more likely to damage the skin rather than heal it.

Cons:

shipment never came

I ordered this product Jan 31st 2011. It never came. I tracked it on Fed Ex website where it stayed in KY and has been lost. Customer service has been polite, but not helpful in the least. My credit card still has a charge on it and now I am waiting for a letter in the mail to confirm my cancellation or to have them reship. This is horrible customer service. I just called today, MARCH 1st and they said they just mailed out the letter and now I have to wait 7-10 business days for that! I'm so sick of dealing with this company, I don't even care about the product anymore if this is how they conduct business. Good luck getting your product or a refund or a customer service agent w/a brain that can actually do something.
