Pros:

This is the only acne product I've used that has COMPLETLY cleared my pores.

Cons:

I still got HUGE PAINFUL pimples almost everyday, and VERY dry skin (the proactive moisturizer doesn't work very well, so don't try it). And, you only have 60 days to take it back, so beware.

I used the 3-step solution, and on top of that the oil control and moisturizer, and it didn't do much good. I decided to just try the cleanser alone, along with the Clean and Clear Persa Gel 10 Maximum strength (which works wonders). The cleanser keeps my pores clear, so I will continue to use that. Unofortunatly, I couldn't take all the other stuff back because I waited more than 60 days, so that was a rip off. So if you try proactiv, just experiment with everything they give you, and see what works best (within 60 days!!!) and keep a good moisturizer on hand......

Pros:

Worked for a few weeks.

Cons:

It STOPPED working& made me break out WORSE than before. I got acne in places I HAVE NEVER HAD THEM! Mostly on my cheeks. I was dumb enough to buy this a second time until I found out that it makes you clear then breaks you out just so you'd buy more

DO NOT BUY THIS PRODUCT. It's pathetic that people come to there "great" product to find help. Yet they screw you over!

Pros:

The refining mask does reduce redness the next day,

Cons:

My acne got worse with proactiv. At first I thought it was pushing the bad out but a month and a half later it was still getting worse.

The product did not work for me, and when I went to cancel any future shipments I found they had shipped an order earlier then they had stated. They had shipped it a whole 2 weeks early. And the customer service people where very rude, and unhelpful. I recommend just going to the doctor to get real help with acne.

Pros:

Works fast at first, and then your skin get used to it and it stops working.

Cons:

Dryness

If you stop using it, your skin breaks out terribly.

Can't use it for the long term! I used Proactiv for more than a year. At first, it worked very well and my skin was clear for a while. But after a few months, my acnes made a comeback and no matter how much I applied I still had breakouts here and there, it was very stressful and also it made my skin drier and tighter. I decided to switch to other skincare products- the first few weeks after cutting off Proactiv my skin was breaking out like crazy...I didn't go back to it because I didn't want to grow a dependency on the products. After a few torturous months my skin slowly regain its balance but still breaks out especially during my lady days and other stressful time. Now I think I will give Dan's gel a try.

Pros:

Softer skin

Cons:

More break outs

The areas where i used put proactive has cleared but its caused more acne on other areas of my face. The product does not do anything other than scrub your face down with all the cleansers, and lotions. Please dont buy this product! Go to your dermitoligist and consult with them before using this.

Pros:

it feels good to use when your washing your face..

Cons:

IT MADE ME RED!!!!!!!! AND ITCHY!!!

DO NOT use this product if you have sensitive skin or are allergic to benzoyl peroxide, you should only use a very tiny amount the first time, and don't use the "repairing lotion", or at least not on day 1.

Pros:

Smells fine, packaging is simple.

Cons:

Expensive, didn't work for me

I really saved up for this line. I used up the whole 2-month supply to find out that my face was destroyed. ProActiv gave me cystic acne, and I was not familiar with this type of acne. As soon as I started pricking them because they would just stay there and not heal for weeks, scars were all over my face... and I mean dented. I hate this product I could cry! I used to be able to heal my blemishes with tea tree oil, and now I can no longer use the oil to treat them. I am so disappointed I ever tried this. It altered my face in the worst possible way. :(

Pros:

the moisturizer

Cons:

made my face a 100 times worse

i started to use proactive because i really wanted to achieve perfect skin. i had the occasional breakout, but nothing that ever got out of hand. i started to use it and it gradually made me break out more and more before i knew it i was having terrible breakouts, i continued to stick with it thinking it is probably drawing all of it out and it will get worse before it got better. after 3 months i finally threw it away, a week after i stopped using it my skin just started to clear up so much better. not only did i lose 45 dollars on crap that made my face worse, but I am now left with acne scars because of it!!!!!

Pros:

The sulfur mask was the only thing i liked

Cons:

just about everything. I started to break out between my hairline and my eyes and along my jawline. I bought proactiv in hopes of thwarting future breakouts. I used it for a month, exactly as directed and my skin has never been worse.

I know this product may work for some, but it has ruined my skin. I know that things get worse before they get better, but thats usually only for the first 2 weeks or so. My skin is horrible now and i think proactiv just irritated the problem. I like the sulfur mask, but I am not sure that it helps either. I use a sulfur soap and take MSM but havent noticed them helping/hurting the problem.

Pros:

My boyfriend has very severe acne and has been using Proactiv for over a year. He says it did help his acne A LOT when he first started using it.Only REDUCES the amount of breakouts for people with severe acne.

Cons:

It only reduces breakouts. Because of Proactiv, his skin is always very oily, it stains clothes and when he stopped using it for less than a week, his skin broke out worse than it ever did with red, enflamed pimples that are very painful.

Apparently, it only reduces (in my bf's case, greatly reduced) acne but never actually completley clears your skin. The price is outrageous considering it didnt do the job the commercials say it's supposes to do. I'm sure there are better treatments around. Although, my boyfriend and I are still looking for a good, simple treatment for his severe acne.
