Pros:

None

Cons:

Proactiv did not clear the acnes on my son's face. Also, I cancelled before receiving another shipment, but the y sent the items anyway and charged me. Then, I returned that item but was still charged the next month without any product being sent to me because they said they have not received the returned items. They said they will be charging again next month until the first return was received. This is bs. They are charging for items I'm not receiving at all.

Horrible product and business model!!!

Pros:

-Cleared my light/moderate acne
- Worked VERY quickly in doing so
-truly my miracle last resort

Cons:

-stings a little
-Expensive
-DO NOT order online
-Terrible customer service and sketchy sales tactics

I was VERY skeptical in trying Proactiv, mainly because my skin was never really that bad. I had small bumps all over my forehead and sides of my face that drove me crazy. I gave in to trying it after my cheeks started breaking out while on a 3 week vacation. It was puffy and painful and I needed a miracle. Anyways, I ordered it online, which I don't recommend. There is NOTHING that says ordering once equates to a subscription... they also charged my credit card an extra 8 dollars from what the order total came to, and still couldn't explain this after speaking with 3 different representatives. I've been using it for about 4 days now, and the first thing to go was the icky cheek acne. The small bumps started disappearing and my forehead is ALMOST clear! It's amazing, I feel so much better. I reaaaalllyyy enjoy popping/picking way too much, and the Proactiv solution seems to speed the healing once I get the gunk out (especially on the cheeks). I've heard so many mixed opinions on Proactiv that I had to try it out for myself. For my mild case, it worked wonders. I can see why others would disagree if their acne was more severe, had sensitive skin etc, etc. It is a really harsh product, but it's doing its job for me, so for now I am satisfied.

Pros:

Cleared my mild acne throughout my 20's and I had flawless skin for years!

Cons:

My skin has changed in my 30's and this product just doesn't work on my skin like it use to. I'm getting cystic acne and Proactiv products aren't doing anything for it.

It's a great product and I had amazing results for a good decade. But I've changed or the product has (probably both) because it just doesn't do the trick anymore. But I still recommend it to young people. I seriously had AMAZING results and got compliments on my skin all the time. I say give it shot!

Pros:

It really works

Cons:

BAD CUSTOMER SERVICE

I loved the products! I used them when I was pregnant and it really worked... within a week my face was completely clear. However, Proactiv kept taking the money out from my credit card for 6 months but I only received the creams once!! I called customer service and apparently the supplies they sent were lost in transit 6 TIMES!!! they didn't give me the money back. After almost 2 years I decided to buy this product again.... I never got it as it was lost in transit again! Bottom line.. product is great but you cannot get it..

Pros:

-The refining mask is great.

Cons:

-Nothing else from the line actually works.

I used the product for about 3 months. There was literally no change. It did not take my make up off, so I ended up going to bed with old makeup on my face. It didn't clear anything up from any area of my body, and it was extremely overpriced. I don't think I've spoken to anyone who used proactiv that would recommend it to anyone: I'm included in that sect.

Pros:

NONE

Cons:

Made my face SO MUCH worse. The exfoliating face wash made my breakouts multiply in patches. Awful. I even used it for a substantial amount of time thinking that my skin would get used to it, or that it might have to get worse to get better, but nope, only got worse.

Also, they charged me for the trial package and another after that even though I returned both within the time.

DO NOT use proactiv. Products that I like that are much better are: Peter Thomas Roth, Origins. I've tried a lot of products and lines and truly ANYTHING is better than proactiv.

Pros:

clears blackheads on nose, and smoothes skin because its a good exfoliator.

Cons:

uneven skin tone, makes pimples worse

I had the odd 2-3 pimples on my face, and really annoying little bumps under my skin, and I bought the 3 step system thinking it would easily clear it away. 2 weeks into using it, my skin was absolutely awful but I kept using it thinking it could only get better. 3 months down the track and $140 later there were hardly any improvements. At risk of sounding like i'm sponsored by garnier, I switched to a $13 bottle of their 3 in 1 wash/scrub/mask, which after one week cleared my skin, and now at the 3 week mark I'm really happy :) The most annoying thing now is that I have dark acne spots left over on my forehead and around my mouth, so i've been using bio-oil to get rid of them. Point is, don't waste your money on proactiv, it might work for some people, but if you don't see an improvement in a month, don't continue it- I read reviews similar to mine before I tried proactiv, thinking my skin would be different, and I wish I hadn't..!! good luck!!

Pros:

Nothing

Cons:

-too expensive
-ineffective
-only method of payment is charging your credit card

There is nothing special about Proactiv. You can buy any of it in the drug store at a fraction of the cost. Let's break it down: "Renewing Cleanser" - The active ingredient is triclosan, an antibacterial/antifungal agent. It's the same thing as in Clearasil face wash. Oh, and it has microbeads. Big deal. "Revitalizing Toner" - This is nothing but witch hazel! People have been getting this at the drug store since the 1800s. "Repairing Treatment" - This is nothing but 2.5% benzoyl peroxide. You can get a generic tube of this at Walmart for around $5. This stuff is a joke. Probably the only reason Proactiv still exists is their aggressive marketing campaign. They pay high profile celebs to hawk this stuff in their commercials. Years ago I used Proactiv for months and it did absolutely nothing. It was a complete waste of money. My advice: see a dermatologist for a real cure. Proactiv is useless.
