Pros:

None.

Cons:

During the summer I was using the new clean & clear face wash and it worked wonderfully for me until my skin got use to it. Every couple of months I have to switch cleansers in order to regain clear skin. One month ago I bought proactive, which I believed could absolutely cure my acne. However, proactive did the exact opposite and totally made me break out in red pimples and acne everywhere. I am still in the process of using it because my sister believes it can help my skin, as it did for her.

If you have experienced the same results, give me some advice because my skin was never this bad. Now I'm just sad and I wake up everyday hoping my skin is clearer. I hate going out in public because my bad skin gives out attention. Someone help me!

Pros:

it worked on my face, however, I get the same results with pharmacy products.

Cons:

The internet policy is not clear, they use it to steal people.

I bought the $79 package and two months after they sent me two more packages. They took $160 from my credit card. I called to let them know that I did not want more products and I sent them back, unfortunanely, they stole my money. They said that they receive many boxes a day and that probably they lost mine. It was impossible to talk to someone that could solve my problem. I would not recommend to do bussines with Proactive. This is scam. Don't waste your time and money. You will have less headackes.

If you don't use the right moisturizer for your skin type, it will irritate your skin.

I don't know why people are complaining that this doesn't work. I have a feeling that the ones who complain are not using a proper skin routine and moisturizer with Proactiv. My best friend used it because she had really bad acne, but she did not use it regularly (twice a day, EVERY day like you're supposed to) and so she claimed that it never worked. Now, for my skin, I had fairly clear skin in high school and the occasional hormonal breakout, so I was able to use cheap drugstore products. When I turned 19, I started having bad breakouts and nothing would help. Since I had used the Proactiv that my best friend wouldn't use anymore, I knew that it helped with even my light acne. I have used it for over 2 years, and except for the occasional breakout (like, 2 or 3 times a year), it really does work. I use an SPF 15 moisturizer (not Proactiv brand) along with it. The thing is, for the people who are complaining, if you think that something isn't working for your skin, you should know after about a month. Using a product for 6 months to 2 years when it doesn't work doesn't help. It takes about a full month or month and a half to know how well a skin care routine will work (because of all the hormonal changes a body can go through in a month). Someone mentioned that it does not fade acne scars. Well, it does not claim to do so, so I'm not sure why you would expect it to. They do have a scar fade cream if that is what you are looking for. Also, people are complaining about customer service. I never order my proactiv over the phone or online. I always find a kiosk/location at the nearest mall because I get the product WHEN I want to. Yes, that means I don't have membership but I consider that smart. I do end up paying a little more, but the face wash and lotion last very long and I always get something free with it. Like I said, I'm not sure why anyone would stick with a product for over 2 months if the product is not working for yo

Pros:

*Cleared my skin
*Keeps it clear
*Skin is SO SOFT

Cons:

*Expensive

I have read a lot of reviews on Proactiv, and I noticed most of them are very bad. For me, though, my experience was the complete opposite. My whole life (I'm 19) I have always had some sort of blemish or zit on my face, no matter what face wash I used. So I decided to try Proactiv. I started using it at the beginning of 2010, and within a couple of weeks, my skin was PERFECT. And even after all of these months, MY SKIN HAS STAYED CONSISTENTLY PERFECT! I honestly cannot remember the last time I had any sort of blemish or anything on my face! There was only one weekend where I went camping so I didn't use it for about 2 days, and I felt one blemish coming, and when I got home and used it like I usually do, it cleared it up right away! Since everyone is giving bad reviews I decided I will say my exact routine and what I use: I use Proactiv every time I take a shower. I put a quarter-sized amount of the wash on my face and rub it gently all over. I then LET IT SIT on my face while I do my usual shower routine. Then I rinse it off. Once my face is dry, I use a little cotton-round and put a dime-sized amount of toner on, and rub it all over. Then once my face completely dries from the toner, I rub a pea-sized amount of the cream all over. Now for the moisturizer: I use the SPF 15 moisturizer, ONLY WHEN MY FACE FEELS DRY, or if it is sunny outside, to protect my skin. So some days (usually cold and darker days), and at night, I will NOT apply the moisturizer. And then when I do apply it, I put it on after the cream. So basically I LOVE IT and I don't think I will use anything else ever!!! The only bad thing is that I randomly get charged $25 every couple of months and I don't really know why, and they don't warn me. So even though the company is pretty stingy, the product worked amazingly for me!!!

Pros:

Pretty much NOTHING!

Cons:

Takes at least 2 weeks of using before it works.
EXPENSIVE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Customer Service is HORRIBLE
Stains EVERYTHING that is touches

I'm so frustrated with Proactiv. I started in the beginning of August and first of all, my skin got 10 times worse before it actually started working. It was so itchy and red for the first week or two. It stained every single wash cloth that I have. Completely bleached. And the bottom line with this product is it's so EXPENSIVE. The first shipment "30 day trial" is only 19.95, but the bottles are SOOOOO tiny!!! And the second shipment, I THOUGHT was only $32something, from what Customer Service told me, well when I got the invoice it was indeed $32 -- PLUS 2 more payments of $19.99. Close to $73.00 for the FACE WASH? NO WAY! I sent it back and asked for my Mastercard to be credited, they told me it would take at least 4-6 weeks until they got it back (the shipment) so I went to the post office and got a confirmation number. Indeed it was delivered in 3 days!!! I called them and they claim that it will still take 4-6 weeks to credit my account. In the meantime, a second payment was posted to my bank account. I am infuriated with this company, I hope they go under (which, they won't with prices like that) and will NOT EVER recommend it to ANYONE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! So when I say "Price Paid - $78.00" That is what I've paid to date for this CRAP, and I'm sure they'll continue charging me until it's actually credited.

Pros:

-helps dry out my mild to moderate acne relatively fast
-easy to apply
-can be worn under make up

Cons:

-makes you more susceptible to sunburn (always wear at least SPF 30!)
-can dry out skin if overused
-can get expensive
-doesn't treat certain kinds of acne

I think Proactiv works for certain kinds of acne. While it does work well for preventing acne altogether (given you use it religiously every day and night, even if you don't have acne at the moment) and on whiteheads/papules, I've found it won't treat more severe forms of acne. I've suffered from cystic acne in the past, and Proactiv did nothing, and in some instances, made my cystic acne even worse. The only thing that really helped effectively combat my cystic acne has been getting on an antibiotic (Doxycycline). However, if I feel a small zit forming or I spot whiteheads or pauples around my chin or nose, all I do is apply a little bit of the correcting lotion (BP 2.5%) and the pimples will dry up in about a weeks time at the longest. The BP treatment and the facial wash are all you really need, though the wash (also BP 2.5%) can be a bit harsh and should be used every other day. Until then, substitute your facial wash with a less harsh salicylic acid cream cleanser (that's what I did. I used Neutrogena's redness calming acne wash, it's afforadable and effective). Overall, Proactiv has worked for me, but everyone's skin is different. Make sure you know what works for you and what kind of acne you're prone to getting before you shell out all your money on Proactiv.

Pros:

XXX

Cons:

Burned My Skin
Bleached everything
SCAM

The product burned my skin, I tried to stick with it, my my face got to irritated that I broke out in bumps. Two weeks after canceling, I recieved my first not intoductory but three month supply. After calling they confirmed that I had canceled but not in time to stop the first shipment. Really, it takes over a week to stop you from shipping an item, in this digital age, I think I got scammed. I sent it back but lost the shiping and handling they charged me to ship it to me and I had to pay to ship it back. This experience was a total waste of time and money!
