Pros:

NONE

Cons:

Proactive is the WORST acne product I have ever used. I had a good skin, not great, until I decided to use proactive and my face went bananas the first few weeks.

I thought that by the next month my face would get use to it and I will start seeing the WONDERS of this product. But that did not happen and my face got worst. They say you will get your money back in 30 days but that is also a BIG lie, because they refused to refund me my money.

Pros:

none

Cons:

everything!

Proactiv is a scam! I ordered this product and then, after seeing additional research, decided it was not for me. I called them and they told me I "could not cancel the order" and "this is how our system works"... Sounds a bit borderline-legal to me... As I tried to cancel, the customer service rep (who was not very nice) tried to convince me I was wrong and started to ask me all kinds of questions about my skin and how I could get my money back within 60 days, etc, but I know by that time I'd have 3 more shipments charged to me. I said nothing and she kept persisting. I'm really upset that their service is so terrible and that they are such a scam!

User for almost 5 years
I tried Proactiv for the first time in my oily-faced teenage years after a number of other products had failed to help me manage my acne problem. Since I had only heard of Proactiv via commercials, I was skeptical at first, but after coming across this review from Cosmo I decided to give it a shot: [link edited out] Since then, Proactiv has become a normal part of my daily beauty routine and I can happily report my skin is now smooth and acne free.

Essential Skincare
I love Proactiv Solutions. I use the original system... not the newer Proactiv + system. I have Oily/Normal Combo skin, and I did experience some dryness when I first started using Proactiv. I found I had to back off a bit at first. Unless you're straight up super oily all over, I recommend easing into the Proactiv system. Start using it only at night for the first week or two. I also recommend using an oil free moisturizer once the Repairing Treatment dries. I like Proactiv's Green Tea Moisturizer for night and the Oil Free Moisturizer with SPF 15 for day.

Apposite of what I wanted
To start with I have pretty clear skin, odd spots and black heads, so I thought if this can clear acne it can give me flawless skin, so I tried it and as soon as I got it I started getting massive spots all over my face. I nearly didn't go To a planned outing one day because I was so embarrassed about how bad my skin had got! So disappointed :(

Do not use Proactiv!!!
I used Proactiv during the summer after grade 8, and my mild acne cleared right up by the time grade 9 started, so about 2 months. I stopped using it since I thought there was no need to keep using it since my acne was all gone. Well, I was wrong. 2 months later, I start getting acne again, this time 5 times worse than it was before Proactiv. I'm still struggling with acne, and I'm now in the 10th grade. I can't seem to get rid of it. So if you are willing to pay for this expensive product and use it for basically the rest of your life, you can use it. But as for using it just until your acne clears up, I do not recommend it at all!!! Also, I found it really irritated my skin. It burned a lot and made it red. So it does work, but, only for a short period of time.

Proactiv-works but not really effective
I have also had problems with acne since college until I started working, it is just mild but still disturbing. I had tried a lot of products including proactiv. It worked but no dramatic change happened. I think it's a burden financially to buy this product every two months without seeing any effect. The pimples and acnes are still coming back. Then one time, I had problem with my menstruation cycle- i have an irregular cycle. So I went to an OB-GYNE doctor and she prescribed me Gracial Pills for 6 months. It is to correct your menstrual cycle, a contraceptive plus anti-acne.I didn't know if it is really an anti-acne product but ever since I took the pills, my acne slowly disappeared and now, it's completely gone. I think the main reason for my acnes are imbalanced hormones. No joke girls.. I'm writing this to help those who would like to have acne-free face. I hope that this will also help you. :)

Tricked into automatic renewal of a skin product??? What a bad joke
I had a similar issue with cancelling the automatic renewal over the phone. I didn't even realize that they auto renew until my sister in-law warned me. When my credit card bill came, I thought I better call and make sure. The product was not working for me. It gave me a rash and a major SHINE on my face in the afternoon, a few hours after using the shut. I don't have that much acne so I probably didn't really need pro-acne to begin with. That being said, if you try and cancel your pro-acne 'subscription", You might want to simply say 'I use something else now." If you mention any adverse reactions they will transfer/redirect you to a brand new CSR to re-explain as to why you don't want to continue to be billed FOREVER AND EVER. Here's what happened to me when I called to cancel... I feel I was a lucky one here.. First call - transferred 3 times while being questioned as to reason for cancellation and finally got a voice mail. Second call - phone disconnected right after I said "please cancel the automatic renewal." Third call - Actually got the same rep as call #2. I told him that he and I just got disconnected and tried to make it clear that all I wanted to do was cancel and he said that my "subscription" would be cancelled in 24 hours and that I would receive an email confirming the cancellation within 24 hours' which has not come in yet after 26 hours.
