Pros:

None

Cons:

driest skin of my life--nothing would moisturize it. horrendous breakouts after stopping

As everyone else says, I used this for a while, it worked minimally at first, and then it stopped working... and now my face has blown up. I had minimal acne before hand, but really wanted to clear it up and thought this would do it. I wish I would have done more research on it before buying it because a year later, my skin is worse than it's ever been in my life. I am convinced Proactiv is what started this. If you miss a day, or don't do the entire treatment twice a day, your skin will act up horribly. After using it for a couple days, my skin looked like flakes, and nothing would moisturize it. it burned all day and looked absolutely horrible. It did clear up my skin minimally for a couple weeks to months, but the drying never went away and my skin was always flaky. Just horrible! Don't be fooled by the infomercials!

Pros:

none

Cons:

made my skin a tiny bit better in the first two weeks and then did nothing else and my skin got worse.

because of the three steps you get confused into thinking it is better than the other non perscription stuff. but i got much better results from a 10% benzoil peroxide wash than this horrible stuff. if you have light acne this stuff might work for you, but so will other much cheaper stuff over the counter. if you have moderate acne like me dont get fooled into using this. go to a dermatologist and get something stronger. i really like clindamycin.

Pros:

None.

Cons:

The lotion dried up my skin. Really bad. I have seen no difference as far as it preventing the breakouts. Especially before my period.

I will not waste my money on this anymore. It says immedeate results during their infomercial, I didn't expect them to be too fast, but I did expect some results eventually. So far nothing. And if I keep using it I will most likely keep waiting... But like expected this medication reacts unique to each individual.

Cons:

dry,red,skin.

i am only 14 and just going into high school. i had no severe pimples and decided to use proactive to clear my pimples. guess where that got me ? red, bumpy skin. i used it for a week, and stopped because i didn't like the results, and once a i stopped my face turned into horror. i am going to a doctor, but don't use it unless your willing to do it every day and night. & waiting patiently for the results.

Pros:

My skin felt smooth in most areas

Cons:

It did get rid of my acne.

I waited a long time to get enough money to buy proactive and I was disappointed because it didn't help and after the 30 day trial they end up sending me a 60 day. I didn't even know that I was going to get another one. My skin didn't get cleared up. It made my skin really dry.

Pros:

Did clear up acne (mostly).

Cons:

Dried up my skin and I couldn't find a moisturizer, still had quite a few breakouts although not as severe, the sulfur mask was very drying, expensive (I needed the five piece kit), the Clear Skin Club can be an unnecessary nuisance.

If your skin is glowing the info ads go for it, but if it's anything less than that, then it it's worth checking out the Acne.org regime and some OTC products or the products here. I switched here. The great part was that my skin was used to BP from Proactiv so I was able to advance fairly quickly through using the max dose of BP on the Acne.org regimen and saw great results. If you need more than the three piece kit then it could you run as much as 75 bucks!

Pros:

It dries up your skin.

Cons:

Doesn't stop acne!

First of all, I had an allergic reaction to the original proactive. My face tightened and swelled. I changed to the gentle formula which seemed to work better. I had given up on all cleansers at this point. After following all three steps daily it has not got rid of my acne. For about a week at a time my skin will be clear, but then pimples pop up here and there still. I shouldn't have large pimples still. For the last 3 weeks I have tried everything to clear my face and nothing is working. I even used their face mask. Nope didn't work. The toner also makes my skin oily so I don't always use the lotion with it, b/c then it is extra oily. I have now started the 30 day free trial of vitamins. I am going to see it that helps. I would hate to spend even more money though. It's obvious I am already wasting my money every three months on the cleanser/toner/lotion. I think I was just sick of searching for the right product, that I just stuck it out with proactive. Five years too long!!!!!!!!!!

Pros:

Skin felt clean thats about it.

Cons:

Biggest con is that it didn't work! VERY dried out skin. Lets just say this I didn't have Jessica Simpsons skin after 4 months of use.

Just get a regular bar of soap and virgin olive oil too keep the skin from drying!
