Pros:

Works well on longterm, greatly reduces frequency and size of outbresks

Cons:

If a day or two is mised the cycle is ruined and you have to start again- can dry out skin if you dont pay extra for moisturizer (that smells like plastic!)

Works if you use it continuously for many months/years. if you forget one night or you dont buy a new one fast enough or go on holidays your back where you started. Works but you need commitment.

Pros:

It makes your skin feel clean after you use it.

Cons:

I have combination skin, and it made the oily parts even oilier and the dry parts even dryer. It worked well the first month, but then it got significantly worse after that. I didn't think my acne could get any worse, but it did.

If you have oily and acne prone skin, it doesn't work. I've never had such bad and painful acne until I tried pro activ. The refining mask and the repairing lotion made my skin really itchy and hurt a lot too. I also don't care for the automatic shipments because the two month supply has lasted me three now, and there's still about a quarter of it left. I recommend, even if you are hooked on getting pro activ, get the one month supply first, don't commit to the full size yet until you've tried it and it works.

Pros:

It made my face feel clean.

Cons:

I had pealing skin and it did not match up to the results you see on tv.

I got the sample size and it made my face feel good and clean but i used the recomended dosage morning and night in the beginning and it made my skin dry and pealing but my face cleared up some what. so i only use the face wash in the morning and the who system at night. they send you a new box so i though id try it and this was the regular size. using only the 1 step in the morning and the whole at night since it made my skin peal. as time went on it my skin got use to it and it had no affect so i stoped using the dime size/pea size, still nothing. . im gonna try the clean & clear advantage acne control kit next since. :/

Cons:

My acne got 5x worse just after using the product for a week.

i started using proactive in the hopes of rocovering my acne. i have had acne for about two years now, and it never gets bettter. when i would watch the commercials about it, it made me feel a ABSOLUTELY needed it... so finally i tried it out. I mean at that point i was thinking "what the heck, what does it matter to me". I mean my acne [in my opinion] was already to its worst point. so then i got the package in the mail. i just couldn't wait to try it out. i did everything it told me, but somehow i ended up with even worse skin. i literally broke down crying, i didn't want anyone to see me like it. i mean people at my school already call me pepperoni face. so i stoppped the treatment, and i even told my mother that i wasn't going back to school, b/c i was so embarrased. but finally she talked mme into going back. [[i still live adepressed life]]

Pros:

it works if used correctly

Cons:

makes your face look red and can irriate your skin

i've used proactiv for a while, then went off it, now i'm back it's working well you just have to use the right amount which is very little.

Pros:

Now I know proactive is not for me and not to trust evertything I see on TV

Cons:

super dry skin, irritation, burning/stinging not matter what moisturizer I put on my skin (I've tried many)

I regret using proactive. After 1 application, my face dried out like crazy and it has been like that for a few days now. Clearly the direction they provided are not very accurate and the commercial was a hoax. Terrible experience.

Pros:

it calms skin and reduces redness

Cons:

does not fix breakouts in fact it caused more breakouts for me dried my skin like no other it took me about to weeks to get it back to normal

the tv lies this stuff is NOT gold in a bottle!

Pros:

-my face is not as red
-when i do get the ocasional pimple it is gone sooner
-hardly ever break out any more

Cons:

-can overdry if you forget to moisturise, but if you moisturise there is no problem

Being 13 I am very self concious of my aperance. Since commencing the use of proactive I feel that my confidence has returned. I am so glad that I tried it, it has dramatically improved my mild acne. I noticed a HUGE improvement even after 1 week of usage. The refining mask is great! I HIGHLY RECCOMENT THEE USE OF PROACTIVE.

Pros:

- Cleared some pimples

Cons:

- Dries skin
- Only works for awhile

It took about a month to get rid of my cystic acne. Now I only get mild acne, but Proactiv doesn't seem to be working anymore(I've been using it for 2 1/2 months now). Plus, it makes my skin really dry. =(

Pros:

It clears up everything relatively fast; my skin is softer and smoother; it really is a confidence booster, even if you've only used it for one day

Cons:

none that I've experienced

The basic set is nice but you should really consider getting the wash, toner, lotion plus the oil-free moisturizer and (if you have oily skin) the daily oil control, not to forget the refining mask which you should only really use for spot treatment. Tip: use only ONCE a day for the first week and then use it twice and don't just stop using it. Eventually, when your face is clear, you can go back to using it once a day or even once every other day.
