Pros:

Does not irritate my skin.

Cons:

Doesn't work! Texture is gritty.

Well I don't have the very pus-filled acne which is surface acne. I have the kind that is mostly under my skin and is hard to treat so this stuff DOESN'T WORK!!! If you're skin is tough like mine ask your doctor for a perscription.

Pros:

My skin was completely smooth. There were no bumps, no red-ness, and I had a healthy glow to my skin. It felt really good going on too.

Cons:

It took it a little while to work. I can't remember exactly how long, but I used it consistently and I got great results. However, as soon as I stopped using it I broke out pretty badly.

It's actually been almost two years since I've used proactive, and I only stopped using it because it was a bit too pricey for me at the time. I just remember that while using it my skin looked better than it ever had. I was thinking of trying it again, but I've read alot of bad reviews on it here lately. So, now I'm kind of afraid. I actually started something new. It's Patricia Wexler's Anti-acne starter kit. I got it at Bath and Body Works. I've been using it for about three weeks now and it seems to really be working. The good thing about it is that it's supposed to also fight aging. It's not drying at all, and feels good going on. I think I might stick to this, hopefully it will keep working.

Pros:

Works quickly for me.

Cons:

benzoyl peroxide kind of makes skin burn when you put it on.

Well, i started using it a week ago and i can start to tell the difference. All the little bumps and redness are gone on my forehead. This doesn't work on everyone but i recommend you to try it.

Pros:

Clears up skin QUICKLY!

Cons:

Can irritate skin.

Seriously, the recommended use is WAY TOO MUCH! If you want this product to work effectively (like it does for me), only use it once per day AT THE MOST. I tried using it 2 times per day as recommended at first, but my skin became itchy, dry and flaky. I stopped using it until my skin went back to normal, then began again using it only once per day. It has worked amazingly ever since! :-) Hope this helps!

Pros:

They let me return it!

Cons:

The benzoyl peroxide

I found out the hard way that I am allergic to benzoyl peroxide. The first time I used this product, I really like the way it made my skin feel... it felt really clean. It burned a little, but I thought that was normal. The next day, I woke up with a horrible, horrible rash all over my face. I had a billion bumps on my forehead, cheeks, chin, everywhere. So, if you are the least bit sensitive to the BP, I don't recommend this product. My friend uses it and it works wonders for her... but it's definitely not for everybody!!!

Pros:

It cleans your face

Cons:

Pricey, Time consuming, Iritating, Harsh on skin, Doesnt clear acne

I have been using proactiv for about 3 years now and it seemed like every time i missed washing i would break out. Soon my face was again covered with acne and scars. My frieind told me to stop using it because she said it just makes things worse, and sure enough, now that i am using just a regular body wash to wash my face, my skin has cleared immensley. Dont fall for their scam, waste of time and money.

Pros:

Umm... They send it to you? Works. Moisturiser is actually a really great product!

Cons:

Fragrance, initial irritation, directions for cleanser are just plain WRONG, joining the "club". If your skin can handle it, Benzoyl Peroxide really does work, but there's no need to buy Proactiv unless you're too lazy to do some research.

I've just canceled my subscription to Proactiv, not because it doesn't work, it's just you can get similar products without the ongoing credit card charges, that are less irritating, for less money. Cleanser - do not follow the directions!! This will irritate your skin. 30 seconds max! Using a BP cleanser has made a MASSIVE difference to my skin, but I knew that even before I bought Proactiv. Toner - contains an AHA, this is actually a good alcohol free toner, but the fragrance is really unnecessary. After this, I will actually add an AHA to my skincare routine. "Repairing" Lotion - a straight up 2.5% strength BP preparation, nothing special about this. In fact, if you have reasonably bad skin (like me), 2.5% isn't really strong enough and won't make much of a difference. Mask - OK product, if you break out when using masks, avoid them altogether. Better ingredients than Sulfur. Moisturiser - I actually highly recommend this! My skin looks great for the first time in two decades!!!!!

Pros:

It did seem to work for a while....but never great results, just minimal.

Cons:

Redness, itching, drying, peeling. THE INFOMERCIALS LIE!!!!!!!!!1

Sure, i could sit infront of a beatiful pool, have layers of make-up, concealer and great lighting that gives me a good skin colour, a hairstylist and 3 make-up artists applying tons of make up of every imperfection.....and fool you all into thinking proactiv had cleared my acne and i now have luminescent clear skin! That's exactly what the Proactiv ads are!!!! Put that much make-up and have that many lights on someone and anyone can look that good!!! And Jennifer Love-Hewitt---YOU NEVER HAD BAD ACNE!!!! And i dont believe for ONE SECOND that Jessica Simpson uses proactiv every day. she probs never uses it at all!!! Probs her botox killed her acne away!

Pros:

I did't see any pros from using pro active

Cons:

It made skin break out with terrible huge pimples and sh*t

Bottom line i have had acne ever sense i tryed pro active. I dont want to sound like a hater but this product used incorectly will have very bad side effects. I now know that i used way too much of the wash and the rest of the stuff and that is why my skin got so bad. It brings out all the dirt and oils and acne out 1st before it makes thigs better. I would recomended to people simply becasue every one has diffrent skin and it may work for you
