Pros:

Seems to be clearing up my skin nicely

Cons:

Does dry out the sensitive under eye area but since I don't break out there I will just try to avoid washing those areas

My OGBYN took me off my birth control pills and my beautiful clear skin went crazy. I got terrible acne on my chin and forehead. I tried many drugstore products and nothing worked so I broke down and bought Proactive at a mall kiosk. My acne is slowly clearing up but I am experiencing a little dryness. I use my own moisturizer but I think I'm going to try the green tea one they recommend. I'm also going to stop using it in the areas of my face where I don't breakout. But, moisturizing is the most important thing for everyone to remember to do. Good luck to all!

Pros:

Seriously! it works! it really cleared up my acne! I still get the occasional blemish, but really it works! you just have to be consistent!

Cons:

-sorta dries out your face, but cetaphil cream moisturizer does the job!
- Skin is somewhat uneven and pimples are redded and enlarged after use, but just IMMDIATLY after use- skin doesn't stay like that!

I have moderate acne and im telling you what! proactiv really did the trick! i have like 2 pimples on my face right now and by tommorow they will probably be almost gone! The secret is to be paitent and consistent! none of these side affects occured to me accept dryness! But i didn't skip a day yet, but am FREAKEN AFRAID TO! Anyways, remeber, if you REALLY do have -ACNE -COMBINATION TO OILY SKIN -AND SKIN THAT IS NOT SENSITVE OR ALLERGIC TO BENZOL PEROXIDE then the product is right for you! And remeber this is was made by dermatologists, and designed specifacly for people currently with acne, not for people who want to prevent it! My sister 's dermatologits told her that proactiv accuatly is effective and works, and is a good product, but is not strong enogh for sevre acne! the people who write horror stories about it are the people who used it impropperly, have sensitive skin, and probably don't have "Real Acne!"

Pros:

Works on mild to moderate acne, no matter what age you are (i'm 30) Works better than most prescription and OTC acne medication.

Cons:

You will still have a pimple here and there, but it clears 98% I think. You get quick results too.

It's a great medication. I've been using it since 2004. The trick is that you have to use it ALL THE TIME. Don't stop using it when your face clears up. Use it all the time and you should have nice skin the majority of the time. I have used every acne medication, even accutane, and proactiv did the trick for me. Yes, I still have the occasional breakout, usually around my cycle, but nothing like I had before using it.

Pros:

If you've got resilient skin, it doesn't dry it out.

Cons:

It doesn't exactly work, either.

I've tried Proactiv on multiple occasions (hoping each time that it would have a different result than the time before). But to no avail. Never once has proactiv done anything...at all. It kept breaking out like usual. The medicine didn't even dry out my skin a little bit. I even tried the extra strength with the same results, or lack thereof. Bottom line, I don't think proactiv works in the least bit.

Pros:

Loved the fresh and clean feeling of my skin's texture

Cons:

Made me break out in places on my face that I normally would not of broken out before

I found that I was getting huge blemishes, far worse than before I started using the product. I tried the spot treatment with the mask, that didn't work either. I felt like If I kept using it and persisted that I would get the results that I deserve. I have never been one to suffer excessive acne, but I now feel for those that do. I have decided to stop using the product at only 7 weeks into using it. The girl that sold it to my husband and who we went back to talk to a couple of days ago said that I had the basic range and if I purchased more of the products that I would see more results. I think she was just trying to sell more to make money. She said that she personally had been using the product for 4 1/2 years, and she had some pimples on her face too. She did admit to still getting pimples during menstrual times or stress as well. I know that it is not a miracle cure, but for the price that you pay for the product you would expect better results from a well advertised prod

Pros:

Green tea moisturizer made my skin soft except for the dry, peeling skin spots.....unfortunately that was the only pro!

Cons:

My acne got worse and it really dried my skin out even with the green tea moisturizer. Maybe it will work for some people but it sure didn't work for me. For me, it's not worth the embarrassment and the money.

Bottom line, it made me think it was going to work but then suddenly I started breaking out all over my entire face instead of just my chin like I was before I started using ProActiv. Then once I stopped using it my face became worse than it's ever been, even worse than it was when I was a teenager and my whole face was covered. Now I have scarring from acne that was caused by ProActiv and I'm still trying to get my skin back to normal. Good luck to all who try this product, but I really don't suggest it. I've switched to Exposed now and I'm praying that it will clear up this mess that ProActiv has caused me.

Pros:

Cleared my acne, Made my face sooooo sloft and clean looking.

Cons:

If you stop using it, your zits come back

I have used proactiv for about a year and a half, and it kept my skin clear. I came to teach English in Japan and since my face was flawless, and I started Yazmin, I thought, I dont need it anymore...Wrong!! I started breaking out here in Japan ... Really badly! ig cysts and deep white heads...fortunatly, they have proactiv in Japan but its DOUBLE the price and the ingredients are totally different. Japanese have sensitive skin, and benzyol peroxide and salicitic acid is not even allowed in the country lol! Anyway, I took the risk annd bought it. Its no miracle product, but I do so a difference in my skin. Although I still get annoying breakouts, I still have some hope....maybe..

Pros:

It cleared up my acne, slightly

Cons:

It makes you skin SO dry, I found it hard to even wear foundation.
It works for about 2-3 months, then stops working entirely.
I wasted my money on this for like 1.5 year and it only worked for 3.

Doesn't work for everyone.

Pros:

reduces redness.

Cons:

-dries out skin
-does not get rid of acne
-over priced, tiny bottles, false advertising.

This medication is a rip off. it does not get rid of your acne, the bottles are so tiny, and it dries your skin out big time.
