Pros:

None what so ever

Cons:

Dryness, itching and breakouts

It caused itchy bumps like eczema so They sent me the 'Gentle Formula' which is salicylic acid instead of benzyl peroxide and it caused me more breakouts than ever ' I was so embarrassed. I cancelled and went back to my Mary Kay regimen (Time Wise cleanser (combination/oily), blemish control toner #3, acne treatment gel and their oil control moisturizer #3 ' it's $60 about every 4 months but worth every penny) and the results are fabulous (just a matter of days), just as I remembered prior to trying Proactive. Buy Mary Kay instead.

Pros:

Cleared my skin up immediately. There is still room for improvement, but I am happy with the results so far.

Cons:

The Renewing Cleanser was out before the new shipment arrived. Also, if you place an order bc you notice you are running out, it comes three weeks later!

I had been seeing a dermotologist for the past 2 years (very very expensive and not covered under insurance), and this has had more results in 2 months than my dermotologist had in two years with a significant difference in price..so I'm happy. I just purchased the makeup, of course it hasn't arrived yet, but I'm looking forward to seeing how that works.

Pros:

it works the first week or two

Cons:

it gives you pimples

I started using proactive solution because I saw it from my cousins which has blemish-free face so i figure maybe thats her secret. I ordered proactive and it worked the first weeks, but then I started to notice that it gives me new pimple every day, and its pissimg me off cause I never really had a pimple problem..just whiteheads and black heads.. now it gives me more pimples and more whiteheads.

Pros:

The texture of the cleanser is great and it makes your skin feel so clean and smooth.

Cons:

PRICE. This stuff is nice, but its not worth the $60 or so for 4 oz bottles of cleanser and toner, and a 2 oz bottle of lotion.

Don't waste your money on the whole set, just go to a Proactiv kiosk in your local mall and buy the cleanser, which is about $20 (still ridiculously overpriced, but better than $50). Then go to Target and buy Neutrogena's Pore Refining Toner for about $4 and a Clean&Clear oil-free moisturizer for about another $5. I suggest the Dual Action Moisturizer, which contains salicylic acid, but Morning Burst Oil-Free works well too. Just make sure that whatever moisturizer you choose is oil free, otherwise you'll end up sabotaging yourself. Finally, buy Queen Helene Mint Julep Mask for $4 and use once or twice a week. I use these products and my skin is now great. I have large pores on my upper cheeks and nose and my skin is very oily and prone to breakouts, but this combination of products have done wonders for me. I now get only one or two zits a month around my period, as opposed to daily breakouts before I discovered this regimen.

Pros:

I didn't see any?

Cons:

Doesn't clear up acne.

I have bad genetic acne and have tried every pill and cream my dermatologist has recommended, and none have worked. In desperation I tried proactiv, and it did not work whatsoever. I did the whole "wait for a few months" and saw no results, except that my face got considerably worse.

Pros:

Need small amount.. no bad odors.. really makes skin soft and clean. Affordable compared to "designer" brands.

Cons:

Can only get this product through mail order, so you can either get too much (auto delivery) or run out (a la carte) if you are not careful.

I love this product. I am a 43 year old woman with oily skin, prone to ugly pimples from time to time. This product is so gentle that I am going to buy it for my 10 year old daughter. It's an easy regime that takes about 5 minutes, tops! The toner is not a nasty astringent that burns, it feels good. And the moisturizer is also an acne cream!

Pros:

Clear skin for CYSTIC acne (really bad, giant pimples).
Lots of natural ingredients & no strong perfumes.

Cons:

I guess it can get expensive, but seriously- if you're acne is bad enough you don't care. There is something in the scrub that can bleach your clothes if it gets on them when you are washing your face.

If you have CYSTIC acne this kit is great (although I don't use their moisturizer- I use Purpose). Birth control + Proactive = manageable, clear skin & happiness : )
