Ineffective
A year ago I tried this product and it seemed trust worthy , with all the commercials I seen and positive reviews . Well I would say I have mild acne , once I started to use the product I didn't even see a slight difference until months later . It wasn't anything that was life changing that made my skin look great but my skin cleared a little bit . About a month later I decided to stop using proactive because it did nothing to change my skin at all , once I did my acne started to get worse back to the way it used to be . And I would always use other face washes , and nothing seemed to help . So from using proactive I'd say since I stopped using it it made my skin worse than it already was .

only for people who get 1-2 pimples a month
This is not for anyone who has anything more than the mildest cases of acne, for it is to abrasive and irritating, and simply does not work. I used it for a few month back when I first got acne in the 6th grade. It worked for a two months and I remember vividly just breaking out more and more and being super embarrassed. I think it actually made my acne worse. Watch some of the commercials for this stuff. The people on there who talk about it in their before pictures literally have like one or two tiny pimples on their face. Of course it worked for them, they don't have acne lol.

Try it if you want. but it might not work
Worked for a while. And then my skin just got resistant to it, so it no longer worked.

Would not recommend...
I have combination skin, and have never had any type of adverse reaction to face wash. I used this for a couple of months, and suddenly my skin broke out in itchy bumps and my forehead was so dry I could see the flakes fall when I scratched it. When I called them, the lady I could barely understand assured me this is normal. Why would I want to have worse skin than when I started? I went to a more natural product and my skin went back to normal. Please take caution before purchasing this product.

Not worth the time
Proactiv was one of the first acne treatments I tried when I had very, very mild acne. Not only did it not work, but it basically stained every single thing it came into contact with. I was never able to use this stuff daily as it would completely dry out my skin, cause it to become very red and irritated, and just be very painful to apply. It ended up making my acne worse then it was before I started it. While I got rid of the 4-step treatment items, I actually ended up keeping their "Refining Mask" product they sometimes include in the box with the others (or you can purchase it separately) as it was pretty great at treating acne overnight. I'd just take a q-tip and spot treat with the Refining Mask on the break outs and leave it on overnight. In the morning I'd wash it off and the breakout, while not completely gone, would be much more reduced and tolerable than before. With all the acne routes you could take, I'd suggest avoiding this one and trying some other acne treatment sets, natural routes, or prescriptions. Really the only good thing I got from this Proactiv set was the Refining Mask.

Awful
The product itself it not bad, But be careful with the company I placed my first order in January and I didn't receive all the items. I then had a refund and placed a separate order which I paid for in full. Then 3 months later I was charged for products for an order I dint even place. Be very careful with this company, if you can buy these products from a shop then I would say it is semi worth it. But do not purchase over the phone directly with company or over the internet,

This stuff does not work at all. It makes your face red and flaky. I would use epiduo that stuff actually works.

I'd rather eat dirt than deal with proactiv

Cons:

product made skin worse
service is horrible
charges you without consent

First off why can't I rate a 0? Anyways, STAY AWAY!! Like everyone else I had seen all of the commercials and it finally got to my head, so I called to order. Everything was great. Got my order on time, everything was included, and they had lots of information in the box. It had been a couple weeks and my skin was getting WORSE and multiple estheticians at my work told me to cancel my order. So I called before my 30 days was up to cancel. The guy said ok I'm sorry you didn't like the product but I will cancel your account. Only to find a proactiv box sitting on the front porch a week later and $30 taken out of my account. So I called again and another person assured me that my account was canceled but when I had called the first time, the order was already shipped and the money will be refunded when they received the box back. (I had refused the package and made the mailman take it back so I didn't have to pay to reship it) A month goes by thinking my account was canceled when BOOM another charge but no package. I called AGAIN. Apparently when I signed up, I opted to have a 3 month supply sent to me(which was the package I refused and sent back) but be charged once every month for 3 months, which I didn't because I only wanted to try it. They told me sometimes the process takes some time and not to worry, it will be refunded. The next month, CHARGE and no refund. I call yet again this time with an attitude telling them to stop taking money out of my account. The lady told me they had received the box and it will now take up to 6 weeks to have the money refunded. Ok fine. Then next month, CHARGE. I call for a fourth time demanding that I speak to a supervisor, which I never did. This lady tells me that 2 days ago I was refunded $89.85. But 5 days ago they took out another $30. She told me that it has been refunded it must not be showing on my bank account yet. So I will wait 3 days. If there is no refund on my card, I will be calling a supervisor and telling him I am about to contact my local news company to people know to NEVER buy this product.
