Good for acne prone skin
This stuff is pricey, but I think it is worth it. While it isn't going to clear up your acne forever, it will not make it worse either. I bought this at least 3 times over and really enjoyed using it, although I did find that I used it up quickly. Good coverage and kept me matte longer than other foundations, although I did find the colour range a bit off. It didn't irritate my skin and definitely helped fight my spots while I was wearing make up.

Hmmm
Prior to acne, I always wore a lighter coverage clinique foundation. I switched to this after my massive hormonal breakouts when Accutane failed. As others have stated, it does not blend well, however, it does work well to hide my redness. I will continue to use it for a bit just to see...

Hey I am considering doing accutane and have already started the process, do you think it is worth trying? I have heard both really good and really bad outcomes and do not want to make my skin worse as I am now only getting about one cystic pimple a week, yet I am 21 and would like to just be done with it forever.

The only foundation I will use
Although I do not think this is something that should be used as a treatment for acne, I believe it is something that should be used in combination with your skin clearing routine if you want to wear makeup. It won't cause breakouts, it's gentle, and it soothes irritated skin throughout the day. When I have this on, I feel like I'm fighting my acne all day and preventing anything new from forming under my skin. I apply with a foundation brush on top of my moisturizer and then use skin-clearing pressed powder, followed by finishing powder. If I do have a problem zit, this does a decent job providing coverage. When I'm using Clinique, I know that I am not putting anything on my skin that is harsh or will clog my pores. I have been using this for months and have nothing negative to say about it. I wear a decent amount of makeup and have sensitive skin - but because I use Clinique, my skin does not break out. The only downside is that it's a little expensive, so I try to be as conservative as possible when I apply it.

Pros:

Great Coverage
Small Amount Lasts Long

Cons:

Can look orangy if isn't applied correctly.

Great coverage for dark spots/acne. Expensive brand but will work with what's best for your skin type/color to get good results.

Pros:

Matte finish
Great coverage
Lasts all day (+)

Cons:

Even the lightest shade is an obvious orangey-pink in sunlight, really have to learn to blend

I think I'll always advocate for this foundation- It's amazing. I don't think it directly clears skin, but it definitely doesn't irritate it. Once, my purse got stolen and I lost my bottle of this (I cried) so I had to use a cheap back-up drugstore foundation- and I found that it actually did make my skin worse. So I began to truly appreciate Clinique! I read an earlier review that this stuff only lasts 3 hours at most...I actually don't agree at all. It lasts me 7am until 9pm, flawlessly. Once, I even wore it to school all day, then to a party at night, then a sleepover, and then a 7-hour work shift the next morning. No touchups. (I don't recommend doing that or anything- just a busy weekend) I tried wearing it while surfing....the I own Even Better and Redness Solutions also by Clinique, but they're neglected in my makeup cabinet. I just love Acne Solution's matte finish and full coverage- no shiny-ness whatsoever. Yeaaah it's expensive, especially in Canada (or anywhere other than the US) but it's SO worth it.

Pros:

Has salicylic acid in the formula
Good match for very pale skin
Covers marks and acne effectively

Cons:

Very drying - causes flakiness
Too drying to wear around the eyes
Very hard to blend as it seems to dry to quickly
Just ok lasting power not the greatest I've had
Expensive in Ireland

This foundation attracted me due to the fact that it contains salicylic acid so I thought that it would be beneficial to treat and conceal at the same time. The colour match for my pale skin is really good and it remains that way and doesn't oxidise throughout the day to an orange colour. There is no way that I could wear this everyday though as it is far too drying for that. It really hurts when it dries up the skin around my eyes and cheeks as I have combination skin, maybe it would be ok if you were oily all over. Overall I'd say this would be a good foundation for oily skin that can tolerate the 2% salicylic acid in contact with it all day and the formula that is not moisturising at all. I use it over moisturiser and don't put it on my eye area. It also works great as a concealer :)

Pros:

Buildable coverage
Doesn't make you break out!
Smells good

Cons:

Orangish tint
Doesn't blend good
Feels very thick ( inless applied with a wet sponge)

It's good but you could probably find something with a better feeling and less orangish tint

Pros:

-Doesn't break me out
-Looks good on me
-Natural looking coverage, but covers marks well enough (especially if you use concealer before)

Cons:

-You have to know exactly how to apply it or it causes tide lines/doesnt blend well
-Expensive, not found in drug stores
-Rubs off somewhat easily

I have very fair skin. The Alabaster color is the lightest they have, and it although it isn't an EXACT match like Fit Me is-- it gives my skin color and life, and when I use a foundation brush (I used to use a sponge and it looked horrible) it applies easily and with some blending looks flawless. I have to do some blotting through the day (my skin is very oily, and Arizona summers are hot) and powder reapplication, but it lasts me from 7AM-10PM most days. I've used this for a year now, and every time I switch foundations my skin gets horrible cystic break outs. This is the only foundation my skin will tolerate. I've gone through four bottles and I'm going to stick with it. It's worth trying, at least getting the Clinique ladies to sample it for you at the counter. If you apply it well, this foundation is very nice.
